Thundercat

Thundercat, who just released his awesome debut LP, The Golden Age of Apocalypse, on FlyLo's Brainfeeder label, will bring his jazz fusion bass and hip hop beats to NYC on November 8 at Le Poisson Rouge. No openers have been announced yet. Tickets are on sale now. No other dates have been announced yet.
Thundercat and FlyLo were recently interviewed by Pitchfork.tv for their Over/Under series. You can watch the video of that below.
In other Brainfeeder news, Matthewdavid will be in NYC this week for CMJ at the Panache showcase at Knitting Factory on Thursday (10/20) (it starts not long after we clear out from our day party). Tickets for the showcase are still available (or use your CMJ badge). That's his only CMJ show but he'll stick around the east coast and return to NYC to DJ at the DaM-FunK show at Highline Ballroom on October 25. Tickets for that show are still available. He also appears at Union Pool the day after that.
All dates and video below...

It's totally respectful to pair a religiously-important headdress from a people who have had their culture (including their ability to celebrate in headdresses) oppressed for far too long, with a letterman jacket, right guys?

If you watched more than 5 minutes of Four Tet you'd know it wasn't "knob turning". He wasn't pushing play and jumping around like a moron (looking at you John Maus). Of course, people are going to react initially to someone moving around on stage but after further inspection it's the MUSIC that matters, right?
