TUrbonegro

Turbonegro will reunite to play Santos Party House on 11/18, as part of the World Snowboarding Championships (WSC) kick-off party with host Andrew W.K. Tickets are on sale. The band, who recently parted ways with long-time vocalist Hank von Helvete, will be sporting the following lineup: Tony Sylvester, Happy-Tom, Euroboy, Pål Pot Pamparius, Rune "Rune Rebellion" Green, Tomas Dahl.

Here's what those involved have to say about it:

"This is just unbelievable," says Andrew W.K., co-owner of Santos Party House, and the entertainment beacon of the WSC. "We're hosting the first TURBONEGRO concert in the USA with their new singer and it's a dream come true for me, Santos, and New York City in general. Making it all part of the WSC opening party just takes it over the top! It's going to be unreal. TURBONEGRO are one of my favorite bands of all time, and so many other people around the world have been looking forward to their return. Santos and I are thrilled to be involved in this important event."

TURBONEGRO says: "We are super stoked to be involved in the World Snowboarding Championships, which we know will be the most rock'n'roll sports event ever."

WSC CEO, Henning Andersen says: "It was Happy Tom from TURBONEGRO that connected us with Andrew W.K. in the first place. Now Turbonegro supports the WSC with an exclusive US gig at Santos Party House. It almost feels too good to be true! Making this happen in New York helps us pay respect to the origin of our sport. Our heritage is American board sports and the great lifestyle that comes with it."

So far, the show seems to be a single, one-off US reunion show and their first US date since Coachella 2009. We'll let you know if that changes, but until then enjoy some Turbonegro videos below.

Not that I care about Turbonegro, but I've always found it incredibly lame when established bands replace the singer.

This is one band I won't be seeing

> and the entertainment beacon of the WSC

Now Andrew WK is an "entertainment beacon"? Good Grief. He's what they used to call a Flash In The Pan.

DOES ANYBODY KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT W HOTELS?

It's been a while since I've listened to The Cramps 'Psychedelic Jungle', complete with Anton Corbijn photo on cover, and it sounds so damn good! It's inspired me to fire up the ol' grill one more time this season and put on, you know it, a Billyburger to call my own. Yummmmmmm.

I agree with 5:58 except that they look like a Bizarro World version of The Village People.

Not the same without Hank---that motherfucker was truly crazy and irreplaceable.

Posted by Anonymous | October 14, 2011 6:40 PM

this is fucking stupid. replace hank? next, replace euro boy, right? i mean, once you've established a rep, everyone's replaceable, right?

that is shit.

why don't they just fly some wax statues over here to earn that dollar?

who fucking cares

ah for those of you/us who are now in the aging hipster class, how do all those jokes you/we made about the bostons and journeys of the world replacing their singers and still trying to tour make you feel??

I may be in "the aging hipster class" but still look rather young due to the healthy properties of ingesting chickpeas on a regular basis. Those phyto-nutrients have given my beard a lovely full growth and my skin is soft and supple from the olive oil.

^ But your thick-rimmed glasses and PBR drool still make you look filthy regardless :)

apparently the new guy had the crowd at Weltturbo jugendtage chanting his name by the end of his first show with them. Ill reserve judgment for myself, and i agree that i feel Hank is irreplaceable. but if he can win over the jugends...should at least be a good show
