Bjork

The New Yorker's Alex Ross asked Bjork what her favorite albums are. Her choices include Nico's 1970 album "Desertshore", Aphex Twin's 2005 album "Drukqs", Kate Bush's 1982 album "The Dreaming", and James Blake's 2011 album "James Blake". On her own website, Bjork also says she's been listening to Beyonce (and James Blake) lately. Bjork saw James Blake live, at least once, at Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn.

We're still waiting for Bjork to announce those US Biophilia shows. Meanwhile Travis Sullivan's Bjorkestra can be heard at the Bell House in Brooklyn tonight (11/16). "The Travis Sullivan Quartet will be kicking the evening off with a short set of Sullivan originals, followed by an evening of Sullivan arrangements with the 12 piece band!"

Speaking of Kate Bush, she has a new album out in less than a week that is streaming online now.

Bjork is beyond amazing and I can't wait for US shows to be announced! Before you make a negative comment about her, look in the mirror and realize how much you hate yourself and your meandering existence. No love for haters!

What in the world is Bjork eating in that photo? Is it some strange variety of Icelandic hummus?

Lou Reed on the other hand. There's a vocal dynamo.

"Kate Bush sucks blahblahblah..."

As opposed to who? Who do you think is better?

"Lou Reed on the other hand. There's a vocal dynamo."

I may prefer Lulu over even Homeland (his wife's album). But that's only because Lulu makes me laugh harder.

"people, people who like Bjork, are the suckiest people in. the. world."

She's overrated, but I wouldn't go that far.

Bkork and Kate Bush are both great artists.
Kate Bush is a super seasoned jewel of prog alt
rock music. To dismiss her just because after 35 years she
Came back and is bringing a killing show, with an amazing band,
(Brooklyn's own omar hakin drums and
mino cinelu perc) and she is getting a little press,
Is wrong. She is raising the bar for all of us.
True she has the mad loot and freedom to
Do it-but being here and observing her courage
and commitment is truly inspiring.
Please respect peeps when they get older- cuz they
Have much to offer.
