Caveman at Beekman Beer Garden in Sept (more by Amanda Hatfield)
Caveman

Brooklyn's Caveman just played a bunch of CMJ shows and followed that with Brooklyn Bowl show with Hospitality earlier this month. If you missed out on all of that, you'll have a chance to catch the band again when they headline Bowery Ballroom on January 20. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (11/11) at noon. This show is their only one scheduled at the moment.

Caveman's debut LP CoCo Beware came out digitally on 9/13 and they will release it on CD and vinyl on November 15 via ORG Music and their own Magic Man! label. The digital version is available now on iTunes. You can grab one of the album's tracks HERE and watch the video for "Great Life" below.

In related news, Caveman frontman Matt Iwanusa recently talked to L magazine about his favorite places to hang out in Brooklyn, like drinking at The Bell House, people watching in Prospect Park, and attending shows at BAM.

This band suckssss, I feel like someone is trying to get this band to catch on but it is just no happening. It's like they couldn't decide what kind of music to play so they just combine a bunch of genres to horrible results.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2011 3:29 PM

No one actually likes this band. It's all hype.

Caveman is a racist band name.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2011 3:33 PM

Its sexist, too.

Greatest band of the post-LCD generation.

Many anthropologists now believe that Cavemen used to eat their hummus with clay triangles.

zzzzzzzzzzzz

Checked out their album today and really enjoyed it. I look forward to checking them out live.

I absolutely love it when people dislike a band just because they're getting a lot of hype. Grow up. Disliking a band because a lot of other people like them doesn't mean your cool. It just means that you think you are cool. Get over yourself, you're not that interesting.

they fucking rule

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2011 6:08 PM

You guys have to be fucking kidding me. This is the worst thing I've heard all year. People are hyping this? I'd say it's destined for a bland car commercial, but it's still too bland. Emo adult contemporary MOR soft rock. The new Sound Team.

And 5:37, people don't dislike this band because of they hype, they dislike them because of the suck.

@6:10 - Spoken like a true cunt.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2011 6:14 PM

@6:14 - Spoken like a true member of this shitty band.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2011 6:16 PM

@4:57 - Yep, this piece smells like it was "placed by management," especially with that bizarre headline. I wonder how much they're paying Bowery Presents?

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2011 6:23 PM

whats so weird about the headline? looks like Caveman is headling bowery ballroom? a venue that bands play at.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2011 6:30 PM

This record is amazing the whole way through. They were great at Brooklyn Bowl. Really psyched for this Bowery show.

LOVE THIS BAND. This is the best band I've ever seen live. They made me fall in love with music all over again when I saw them open for Twin Shadow.

I'm confused as to what's suppose to be so weird about this headline. Seems pretty normal to me....
Just checked out the video, singer has a pretty great voice, could be interesting to see them live.

Don't understand how these bands pop up and start headlining rooms like Bowery in a year's time? There are tons of local bands that destroy these guys yet you don't hear about them. Don't get it.

I just love caveman
