The last official date for the Relax tour [was] Wednesday's sold out date at the Music Hall of Williamsburg, but that's just a bugged-out coda for me.That message by Das Racist was actually written the day before Wednesday's show (11/16) at Music Hall of Williamsburg last with Despot and Mr. Muthafuckin' Exquire. The show ended a tour with Despot that began at Bowery Ballroom with the same lineup. Pictures from the homecoming gig are in this post.I'm writing this in my apartment in Brooklyn while watching a live stream of Zucotti Park/Occupy Wall Street. The window is getting increasingly dominated by cops wearing riot helmets. The whole Occupy movement started less than ten days before the beginning of the tour, and other than a few run-ins (mostly accidentally) in other cities, I've barely acquainted myself with the movement, and now it looks like I won't get the chance. Not so sure what else to say about that right now other than the people running shit, and cops, suck.
It's been a weird six weeks, my knees are completely shot, my voice is shot, I feel we might have disappointed as many fans as we've entertained and I didn't make very much paper at all. We're working on a few tricks for our Europe tour coming up in a few short weeks and then I think it's time for us to start working on some awesome and new shit, collectively and independently, for 2012. Before we kill ourselves (or the world ends, anyway).

It's a known fact that people who hate police suffer self esteem issues. They know they could never cut it as cops so they project that failure and hatred of themselves onto the very same people they wish they could be. Ever notice it's always the scum and skells who seem to have the most issues with the cops?

It also could be that people resent the gradual militarization of police forces over the last few decades. Or that people resent how police officers can break the law, sometimes in a heinous fashion, and have it covered up by an unofficial code of conduct amongst "brothers."
