No all day free marathon? It was awesome last year.

Posted by Anonymous | November 16, 2011 9:25 PM

It's bad there will be no free marathon but I am sure all the shows will worth their money! I can't wait!

Oneida and Rhys Chatham sounds badassssssss

I'll be sure not to go to this.

"I'll be sure not to go to this."

I don't think you realize just how f--king dumb you sound.

not to change the subject but whats up with Bon Iver shilling for Bushmills ? I'm all for indie artists making money in different ways to help support themselves but Justin is doing pretty ok for himself.. you think he would have passed on this..

Posted by Anonymous | November 17, 2011 10:41 AM

@10:41...wrong perspective. If a musician actually turned down money and free whiskey, that's when you turn your back on them for being stupid. Bon Iver should be congratulated for this deal.

I already said I support musicians for seeking other opportunities to make money to support themselves and I meant to add when their tours and record sales aren't really enough to sustain their careers.. ..they need to look elsewhere.. commercials, etc.. I get it..
In Bon Iver's case they are selling lots of records and making lots of money on the road. How much could this campaign have paid for him to say yeah I need to do that too and align myself with a liquor company for some quick cash.

Fact: If you turn down legit money because you are "selling lots of records and making lots of money on the road", you are an IDIOT!!!

When in your life have you turned down a job or money just because you felt like you were doing alright financially?? Never??! Your logic is offensively juvenile.

"How much could this campaign have paid for him to say yeah I need to do that too and align myself with a liquor company for some quick cash."

Obviously enough!

"I don't think you realize just how f--king dumb you sound."

Oh come on, don't be so sensitive. A little smarmy remark shouldn't hurt anybody.

.. how do you know what I have or haven't done ?

Yes, I think its juvenile to say musicians should NEVER do things like this
but I 'm not saying that, I'm saying I'm surprised a respected indie artist that is doing well for himself would cash in so quickly in his career.. I know you'll continue to flame me but I don't think its outlandish to be surprised by that

"how do you know what I have or haven't done ?"

I don't know...hence the question marks. Ummmmmm, yeah.

Due to sponsorship, Jeff Mangum has changed the name Neutral Milk Hotel to Neutral Got Milk?™ Holiday Inn Express™.

He is now the Indy car of indie rock.

yeah but you then answered your own question by saying Never??!
