Frank Ocean hat (via tharealpandaa)
frankocheanhat.jpg

As I tweeted yesterday, Frank Ocean last-minute-cancelled his NYC show at Bowery Ballroom last night (11/6). He wrote:

NEW YORK IS CANCELLED.

or should i say postponed. i played last night in new orleans, on antibiotics and some other meds. got sick a cpl days before i left los angeles. woke up this morning in new york and could barely speak. called a doctor to my hotel, got a steroid shot. took some more meds. laid in bed allday till soundcheck, got to the venue and could barely sing any of my songs. im really sorry yall. i been workin on this show for months, did everything i could to make it special for yall. i'll be back soon as i'm healthy. thats my word. tickets will be valid for that, or you guys can get refunded. damn. this shit sucks.

The cancellation was so last minute that people were already at the venue. The consolation prize was one of the above-pictured hats which were otherwise for sale as part of his tour merch.

I tweeted that from Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin where his friends in Odd Future did go on as planned just a few hours later. Stay tuned for more on that.

Jay-Z and Kanye West played their second of two Izod Center shows last night, and play their first at Madison Square Garden this evening. Their setlist from the first NJ show is HERE.

that ok. New York isn't a very important market or anything.
Hope you had fun in New Orleans !
..nice planning by the way..

When someone cancels their first NYC show less than an hour before the doors open, that is a career red flag.

"New York is cancelled"?
I think not.
New York is doing just fine, Frankie.

I feel bad for whoever bought one of my tickets on Stubhub at 530pm last night for $199.99. Kind of.

"I feel bad for whoever bought one of my tickets on Stubhub at 530pm last night for $199.99. Kind of."

Nice bullshit, liar. Tickets could be had easily yesterday for face

I guess doing karaoke over a laptop & playing guitar hero in NO really took it out of him.

The OF collapse continues!

Hey asshat. Go through yr mail!

Posted by Anonymous | November 7, 2011 11:47 AM

I don't see how selling my ticket at 5pm once I realized I couldn't go to the show makes me an asshole, but fair enough.

Posted by Anonymous | November 7, 2011 11:49 AM

hahahahaha relaxxxx guys, this guy isn't scum. the guy who paid $199.99 for the ticket probably is, tho. can you say 1%?

Posted by Anonymous | November 7, 2011 11:53 AM

Really though 11:57, that was a pretty intense response. I don't think posting tickets on Stubhub makes me a bad person, or means that I should have the "shit kicked out of me on principle."

Obviously the guy who paid $199.99 is stupid, but I don't see how that makes me "a true scumbag." I couldn't go to the show at the last minute, so I was trying to unload my tickets online - seems like common sense.

11:57 Who doesn't love Jean Ralphio?

You're assuming a lot. I'm usually not the type to intrude, but you're extremely out of line and could easily be mistaken. Put away your P4K pitchfork.

Posted by Anonymous | November 7, 2011 12:10 PM

pretty sure StubHub has customer service for canceled shows, though.

Posted by derek jeter | November 7, 2011 12:12 PM

I bought NIN Webster tickets from Dillion for $$$. He's a toolbag.

Posted by Anonymous | November 7, 2011 12:14 PM

geeze, don't even know what to say at this point. i had 2 tickets, was going to go to the show. sold 1 on stubhub, and sold the other through craigslist for 20 bucks. i was actually laughing when the 1 ticket sold on stubhub for 199.99 because i thought it was so ridiculous; i had set that price as a joke, since there were like 15 other tickets available for under $50 on stubhub at the time.

SO MUCH HATE

Posted by Anonymous | November 7, 2011 12:21 PM

I don't know who this guy is, but, people do get sick. What did you want the guy to do? Risk his health and play badly anyway just to please you? Fuck, he's refunding the tix and also saying you can use them at the adjourned date.

Spellcheck. It's available free with any word processing program. Hell, it's virtually integrated with every interface now. Spellcheck.

Posted by Anonymous | November 7, 2011 12:39 PM

Oh Dylan you loser. That 12:16 comment of yours is pathetic. Man Up ya little bitch and take the beating you so richly deserve. To try and weasel out now with some lame lying explanation is pitiful.

Posted by Anonymous | November 7, 2011 1:16 PM

1:16 yea he's the little bitch. you're the one anonymously threatening a college kid from behind a computer screen. take it outside, no one wants to read your shit.

fyi my name is daniel rudi.

Posted by daniel | November 7, 2011 1:24 PM

WHOA WHOA WHOA, 116 (and other man, assuming you're not also 116 trolling this post) - you wanna have people go find and beat the hell out of a guy for selling 1 ticket to a concert on stubhub for 200 bucks? hahahahaha get a god damn LIFE!

Posted by Anonymous | November 7, 2011 1:38 PM

scalper = dylan
some guy/girl paying $200 for frank ocean = idiot

Posted by Anonymous | November 7, 2011 1:58 PM

Why is the seller respsonsible becasue the show got cancelled? So sales on stubhub aren't really sales....they're possible sales...I knew there wasa reason I avoided that site

Posted by nygrump | November 7, 2011 2:00 PM

Hey look Dylan you scumbag, you got some fans and defenders. Assuming of course that the Daniel Rudi guy and the one after are not you trolling pretending to be other people. Would not put it past you

Posted by Anonymous | November 7, 2011 2:25 PM

Dillion getting mad cause now his email is posted forever on infamous BV....

Posted by Anonymous | November 7, 2011 2:36 PM

"You know that you are the troll, 2:25. If you had any balls whatsoever you would post your name and email address as well. Yeah, I thought not."

Oh shut the fuck up you tool. Like you even meant to post your email address and name. You are just an idiot fuck up and now you are trying to look all tough. LULZ.

Posted by Anonymous | November 7, 2011 3:04 PM

I actually purchased the ticket. I spoke to Stubhub, and I guess the show will be rescheduled. Once the new date is set, I will contact Stubhub again, tell them I can not make the new date, and get my money back.

Posted by Anonymous | November 7, 2011 3:42 PM

^^^^Well good for you but you really are an idiot of epic proportions for spending 199 bucks on this. You almost don't deserve your money back.

Posted by Anonymous | November 7, 2011 3:46 PM

hahahahahaha 3:04 thinks 2:29 is actually him.

dude, don't you realize that people are just posting on here at this point pretending to be the OP, so they can egg you on? because you're an idiot? and we are all now just prodding you for our amusement?

Posted by Anonymous | November 7, 2011 3:56 PM

^^^^Dylan is out of his mind at this point

Posted by Anonymous | November 7, 2011 4:17 PM
