Kimya Dawson just visited the NYC-area to play shows at Maxwell's (Saturday after the Sonics) and Knitting Factory (Sunday) AND to play a surprise reunion show with the Moldy Peaches! As the audience that included Regina Spektor, at least one member of the Strokes and Macaulay Culkin watched, Adam Green and the rest of the gang joined Kimya on stage after her set Sunday for at least the eight songs which you can watch below...

Who's got the Crack?

Posted by Anonymous | November 15, 2011 12:39 PM

I'm really glad that anonymous commenters have chimed in to let us know that no one cares, because I probably just would have assumed that people do care. But thanks to these timely and insightful responses, I am now clear that no one really cares. Bless you for all your hard work.

12:20 the Sidewalk Cafe Mafia

Were they a serious band, or like a jokey novelty type thing? I remember seeing them on some show on Fuse once and they seemed like a joke band. I never bothered to check them out, and I can't be bothered to research them myself.

Great band. Excellent reunion set. Two fantastic openers as well - Berth Control and Your Heart Breaks. Great vibes all around. No place for trolls.

Posted by Anonymous | November 15, 2011 5:14 PM

is that the dude in fucked up but wearing a dress?

Posted by Anonymous | November 15, 2011 5:43 PM

Geez! Attention seeking posters who write crap just to get a reaction have a very hard time dealing with the real world and need nothing more than our compassion and prayers. Ignore them, pity them, pray for them. Their world is a dark place. Moldy Peaches are cool!

Most inspiring sight of the whole night; the small child sitting right on the edge of the stage, who sung along to several of Kimya's songs and knew every word. Here's hoping she doesn't grow up into a cynical ogre who wields her musical taste like a fucking bludgeon.

Posted by Anonymous | November 15, 2011 6:21 PM

@5:12 - You seem to have some serious issues. Kimya is actually a really sweet, kind person. She's a great mom and she cares for people. That is clearly more than I can say about you. I hope you get better.

I'm glad they are playing again. They should do a show at the Sidewalk. That would be cool. The band that opened for K. Dawson Berth Control were good. I watched the live feed.
