Liam Gallagher @ Terminal 5
Beady Eye

"It's easy to look at a band like Beady Eye and make easy pronouncements about the bombast of their music based on the circus that is the Gallagher brothers. When Noel threw in the towel and walked away from Oasis in 2009, it seemed almost inevitable after years of well publicized public quarrels and multiple band "breakups."

But if you expected animosity and bitter feelings from Thursday night's Beady Show at the 9:30 Club, you would have been sorely disappointed. What was on display was a milieu that was equal parts professionalism, bombast and the pure rock 'n' roll swagger that one would expect from a front man who was named the Greatest of All Time by Q magazine in 2010." [DCist]

One night after they played DC, and just a few weeks after Noel visited NYC, (the rest of Oasis) Beady Eye headlined a show at Terminal 5 in NYC (on 12/9). More pictures and the setlist from that one, below...

Saw both Beady Eye and Noel...Noel's show was 10 X better...I was bored with Beady Eye.

What the hell is that limey clown wearing?

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 1:41 PM

Oh! It's a Beady Eye show. For a second, I thought BV was going to show a clip of when Homer decided to work from home and wear a muumuu.

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 1:44 PM

Somebody please photoshop a penis into that lead photo.

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 1:45 PM

Picture this: Trap hundreds of hipsters, lock 'em in T5, and get Noel Gallagher to yell at, demean, and berate them. Fun times ahead!

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 1:46 PM

who?

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 1:47 PM

beady eye is so dreadful. as a longtime oasis fan, i couldnt stand their album; i can only imagine their live shows are as terrible.

Posted by Adam | December 13, 2011 1:51 PM

Help the aged.

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 1:53 PM

Shed Seven were better.

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 1:55 PM

Love the Rose Morris Ric, though.

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 1:56 PM

Liam would slap hipsters silly. I remember seeing Liam and Noel once on 5th avenue as I was on my way to work at 8:00 a.m. on a Tuesday. Both were super drunk, surrounded by their HUGE hooligan bodyguards and Liam was yelling at Noel calling him a nipple! Was an amazing 20 seconds.

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 2:12 PM

good for you 2:12. damon albarn won the britpop war.

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 2:14 PM

Damon would suck the Queen's tit while Liam would simply give it rub and ask if it was aw-ight.

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 2:23 PM

Wow..... they should have turned that room into a gas chamber. Why does anyone care about this irrelevant douche?

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 2:38 PM

saw them at webster and it was better than i expected. didnt hurt that i bought tix for $10 at the door.

noel was a better show but beady eye puts on a solid rock show.

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 2:49 PM

Worse than Hitler!

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 2:51 PM

Why would people pay money for this crap?

Posted by Really? | December 13, 2011 3:06 PM

that's the emptiest i've ever seen T5.

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 3:21 PM

I loved the show..and am in the photos and even more so? LOVED the kiss on the hand we gave one another at the end of the show..thanks Liam, you made me happy once again.

Beady eye is DEADLY.

Posted by RK | December 13, 2011 3:21 PM

Beady Eye is way better then the modern weepers.

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 3:22 PM

Was it cold inside T5? Poor Liam must have been chilly to wear that ridiculous coat the whole show.

Posted by BK | December 13, 2011 3:27 PM

Who is Beady Eye?

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 3:32 PM

1876 called and wants it's haircut back.

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 3:48 PM

Figured the bitches in this thread would think Damon Alborn is better than Liam.

Go figure.

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 3:49 PM

This band is from England and who gives a shit

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 4:10 PM

2:12 posted that same story last time there was an Oasis post!

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 4:26 PM

'best front man' - yeah sure, Larry Lifeless could turn in a more interesting performance while asleep

Posted by nygrump | December 13, 2011 4:39 PM

4:26 well, for what it's worth, that story is epic.

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 4:47 PM

beady eye > tebow

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 5:17 PM

lol 4:10

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 5:24 PM

that poor guy is actually psyched about grabbing the setlist. he is probably just grinning because he knows some beady head will pay 200 quid for the useless document

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 6:37 PM

3:21 is not going to wash that hand (so including last month, that should make for a total of 3 months)

yuck

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 6:39 PM

first 100 fans were complimentary Beady Eye butt plugs.

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 7:27 PM

this band is such a bore and they can't rock

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 8:38 PM

$48 tickets for this crap? That people actually bought? Who says we're in a recession!?

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 9:27 PM

It was a great show, jackasses..ha.

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 9:44 PM

Noel's Beacon show was a borefest.

Posted by Anonymous | December 13, 2011 11:33 PM

It was a great show, jackasses..ha
^
looks like you were the only one who thinks so.

Posted by Anonymous | December 14, 2011 12:37 AM

6:37 is British

Posted by Anonymous | December 14, 2011 1:11 AM

Nice job opening the article with a quote from an article about another show (in DC). I love to hate the haters on this site, but this is certainly a pile of shit.

Posted by Blaze | December 14, 2011 7:02 AM

I would rather listen to Damon Albarn, or any member of Blur, read the paper than see an Oasis side project

Posted by Anonymous | December 14, 2011 7:28 AM

Epic suckfest.

Posted by Anonymous | December 14, 2011 8:22 AM

Beady Eye owned. Poor Noel...

Posted by Anonymous | December 14, 2011 11:52 AM

Liam's voice is in top form. The band is better than ever. They don't need Noel. He obviously kept the band from moving forward.

Posted by Anonymous | December 14, 2011 11:56 AM

Show of the year!

Posted by Anonymous | December 14, 2011 11:58 AM

oasis, radiohead, pulp = clown shit.

Posted by Anonymous | December 14, 2011 12:12 PM

Saw Nick DiPaolo for a brief while while he was getting his buddy Noel a few drinks for the stage. I still have to find out whether or not he thinks this was the show of the year.

Posted by Anonymous | December 14, 2011 12:17 PM

The show was extremely awesome!!!

But I thought Liam's speech about his admiration for President Obama was a bit preachy since he's not even an American. Who is he to mock the republican party when he does not live in this country!

Posted by Anonymous | December 14, 2011 12:27 PM

this show was a waste of money for so many.

Posted by Anonymous | December 14, 2011 12:48 PM

That speech was uncalled for, comparing himself to Obama and Noel to Newt Gingrich. I hate when liberal rockstars think they're in a position to speak about politics, especially coming from another country. Hey Liam, Michael Stipe called and wants his annoying stage banter back.

Posted by Anonymous | December 14, 2011 12:50 PM

Here;s the REAL coverage: the club was way too packed. The sound was atrocious. Liam couldn't hear himself and didn't even try. It should've been moved to another venue.

Posted by Anonymous | December 14, 2011 12:53 PM

Seriously, the floor level was too packed...had to stand to the side, but an awesome performance! There were sound issues, Liam kept gesturing to the sound person throughout, but can't wait to go again.

Posted by Anonymous | December 14, 2011 2:20 PM

"I don't like Radiohead. I don't like Coldplay. I like rock and roll."

Posted by Liam | December 14, 2011 2:25 PM

Liam gives millions to charity and has always been a liberal activist. He is a big supporter of the occupy wall street movement and his pretty green organization holds fundraisers for environmental issues. He is a hero and should be respected whether you enjoy his music or not. Noel just talks about how great he is, and released an album of songs that have been swimming around for 10 years.

Posted by Anonymous | December 14, 2011 2:31 PM

I'm in the "business" and I know for a fact that Liam Gallagher has a net worth value of 82 million dollars. That's not a lot for a rockstar. He's not Bono or Springsteen. Who cares how much money he gives to charity?

Posted by Anonymous | December 14, 2011 2:58 PM

Noel has closer to 300 million for obvious reasons. In case you were curious...

Posted by Anonymous | December 14, 2011 3:05 PM

Why is their image all about the album Quadrophenia? Granted, it's a seminal record in music history, but both Liam and Noel's solo albums sound exactly like The Kinks! What's with the Quadrophenia relics?

Posted by Anonymous | December 14, 2011 3:13 PM

yo this show was mega awesome! but they fell to the curse of Terminal 5. Liam was screaming at the sound guy during and in between every song! the band played through stacked amplifiers like it was MSG. it was louder than the My Bloody Valentine roseland shows! was fun, but should have picked a larger space.

Posted by Anonymous | December 14, 2011 3:35 PM

SHOW OF THE YEAR!

Posted by Anonymous | December 14, 2011 4:35 PM
