Funny how Radiohead MSG tickets will probably cost the same price.....$55 for nose bleed seats and $80 for floor.

Black Keys ready to headline Coachella this year?

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 10:03 AM

Dont be surprised if they add a second a date

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 10:04 AM

it's really getting harder and harder to get tickets to shows. new technology, new scalping advantages. jesus fucking christ when is something gonna be done.

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 10:04 AM

They were 2nd billing at coachella this year and just sold out msg in minutes...they're def big enough to headline but can't see goldenvoice booking them two yrars in a row

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 10:04 AM

Theyll def be headliners at Lolla...with RHCP prob

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 10:05 AM

Something strange about this (similar to LCD)

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 10:07 AM

OK, something DEFINITELY fishy with this onsale...

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 10:07 AM

Dudes....its presented by Bowery Presents! They'll release 1000 additional tickets the week of saying they made stage configuration!

Posted by Samyiam | December 9, 2011 10:13 AM

Here we go again. There is no way in hell this is sold out now or anytime in the near future. WTF

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 10:15 AM

BULLSHIT! GIMME SOME TICKETS!

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 10:15 AM

Yeah what's good with this onsale? There's no way this sold out already.

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 10:15 AM

There still tickets for Philly which is much smaller. There is NOOOOOOOOO way this is completely sold out.

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 10:16 AM

Did ANYONE get tickets?

Posted by Steph | December 9, 2011 10:18 AM

Definitely weirdness going on - AMEX presale had good seats well after it went up, no way has this show sold out like that (and usually you encounter some wait time, none here). Whether it's technical weirdness or funny business going on, that is the question...

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 10:19 AM

I think it's the usual Bowery Presents nonsense

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 10:20 AM

Yup... I didnt hit ANY wait time at all... I got tickets with AMEX easily. There really is something going on...it should be investigated. Get the hummus patrol on them

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 10:20 AM

20 minutes of trying, and two sets of 400 level tickets? i'm calling shenanigans.

Posted by butt_hash | December 9, 2011 10:22 AM

got tickets!

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 10:29 AM

This gets so fucking old.

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 10:29 AM

row 105 aw yeah consistency

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 10:30 AM

they just announced 4 shows at Terminal 5. will call only.

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 10:33 AM

Typical ticketmaster Bullshit. No way it sold out instantly

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 10:38 AM

i just pulled 2 in 226 at 10:44

Posted by butt_hash | December 9, 2011 10:47 AM

Pretty amazing that Bowery Presents was the saving grace to this town in 1998, and now they've turned into the devil as well.

Posted by jan jansson | December 9, 2011 10:52 AM

I don't recall how they were ever the saving grace. Please enlighten me.

Also, don't expect a 2nd show added. Tour schedule is WAY too busy and the night before (Sun) seems to be their only night off all week but we can always hope.

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 11:00 AM

You guys are fukken lame, i walked out on getting tickets 3 seconds after they went on sale

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 11:02 AM

This show is not sold out. I keep pulling section 400's...... garbage.

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 11:05 AM

I just got my ticket in section floor 2 row B - I will be walking out exactly at 9:17

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 11:07 AM

Maybe you're too young to remember 11:00, but when Mercury Lounge and Bowery Ballroom opened they were the best sounding small and mid-size venues in the city - not to mention treating the artists well. They also interrupted the horrible reign of Live Nation that had taken over the city. Their independence was a breath of fresh air. Now, not so much.

Posted by jan jansson | December 9, 2011 11:23 AM

These guys should do a benefit show for Jonathan Toubin. They seem to be quiet wealthy with expendable incomes to spare.

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 11:26 AM

11:23,

Nope, not too young to remember. I think there's a difference between the venues and the promoter (Bowery Presents). Having multiple promoters in the city actually increases ticket prices for everyone since the band takes the highest guarantee/bid (not to mention Bowery Presents lets artists keep more of the bar/merch revenue which also inflates all costs).

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 11:32 AM

You poor kids.
You missed the epic bands, so this seems "epic" to you.
You have no idea what a profound sense of loss I feel for you.

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 11:44 AM

What are the chances these guys have learned to play a full show this tour? They struggled to fill more than an hour earlier this year. Never played their full allotted time at festivals.

If they expect people to pay $80/ticket, they better play an hour and 45 minutes MINIMUM.

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 12:24 PM

wow from reading this thread i get the impression that this band's crowd is a bunch of idiots.
no one think of the two day amex presale?

and in 98 there was no bowery presents. there even was no bowery ballroom, just merc lounge.

back to ohio kids!

Posted by ME | December 9, 2011 12:25 PM

I got front row tix but since I was listening to the Black Keys back in 1982, ya know before any of you heard of them, I'm just gonna put on one of their albums at home, fill a ziplock bag full of hummus and PBR, then place it between my couch cushions and fuck it all night. If anyone with a nice beard and an awesome chest tattoo wants to join me, after their shift as a barista at a coffee shop in BK ends, I'd love for you too peddle over on your fixed gear and film me with you iPad.

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 12:44 PM

i have seen the bk's many times in the past in small venues where i was standing at the stage. why bother going to see them at msg?

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 12:48 PM

Well Mr. 12:48, aren't you just the tits?

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 12:53 PM

I have seen the Black Keys so many times in the past in small venues where I was standing at the stage that I am officially a douche.

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 12:54 PM

Hey guys, I'm a cool hipster.

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 1:19 PM

Hey everyone,

So for the few of you who got tickets, what time are we all planning to walk out? I was thinking 10 min in but I wanted hear from some of you more seasoned concert walk-out folks so let me know.

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 1:27 PM

I was probably going to tweet a picture so everyone on Twitter/Facebook knows I'm cool for being there. Then I was going to walk out after 2 songs if they don't play their unreleased, un-written rarities, so everyone at the show knows how cool I am. Then I'll tell you about it on here tomorrow to show all you assholes how cool I FUCKING AM.

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 1:30 PM

I would leave after the Arctic Monkeys. They're the real band!

Black Keys will never be able to headline Glastonbury......

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 1:45 PM

Who need's tickets in the nosebleeds?
Is that all you get for your money?

And it seems such a waste of time.
yeah if that's what its all about
Frohawk if that's being hip than I'm WALKING OUT!
IIIIII'm WALKING OUT!!

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 2:04 PM

i heard this band plays real, authentic delta blues!

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 3:03 PM

1) Who is paying $80 to see Black Keys at MSG?

2) Any explanations on why this "Sold Out" in less than a minute?

3) Bowery Presents (and the Band/Management) often include a set amount of tickets in the contract to be sold in secondary markets (StubHub, Ticket sites, etc). This is where the band/management/promoter (Bowery Presents) gouge the fans. Don't be so quick to blame this on Ticketmaster.

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 4:09 PM

1. Scalpers and die-hard fans

2. They are doing a staggered release, ala LCD Soundsystem. Tickets will be re-released in the coming months; most likely including GA tickets.

3. No one is blaming Ticketmaster. Everyone is blaming Bowery Presents.

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 4:18 PM

1. Are there that many "die hard" fans?

2. Be transparent about this then

3. Don't forget about the band/management. Just as guilty.

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 4:21 PM

I was in right when the system opened at 10 and it was sold out. The am ex pre-sale was shit up in the rafters. Everybody is a scalper today and the bands are greedy too (fuck, no money from selling records...so).

Oh, I got two eventually. Good luck all.

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 4:24 PM

guys, don't worry. really, really really don't worry. there is NO way in hell there won't be incredible tickets for below face on stubhub on the day of the show. this is the black. keys. at. msg. scalpers got wet and will get screwed for it, will try to unload their haul as they realize no one would ever pay over $100 to see the black keys in an arena.

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 4:33 PM

Did you find it yet Shortney?

Posted by Anonymous | December 9, 2011 6:35 PM

useless band

Posted by Anonymous | December 10, 2011 2:18 AM

STARE EM DOWN. WALK THE FUCK OUT.

Posted by Anonymous | December 10, 2011 4:27 AM

black keys is amazing
