bazaar

As their own site reads:

On October 9, the Brooklyn Night Bazaar had its inaugural event at Dekalb Market in downtown Brooklyn. A talented group of local artists, designers, musicians and chefs were joined by over 5,000 visitors for what became a magical evening. Nomadic in nature, the next Bazaar will take place over three nights in a vast 40,000 sq ft warehouse with soaring ceilings. Highlights will include:

-Over 100 local merchant and food vendors.

-Artist films, projections and installations programmed by NBNY Projects.

-Specially designed layout by JDS/Julien De Smedt Architects.

-Live music and DJ sets including James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem), The Crystal Ark, Midnight Magic, The Hold Steady, Titus Andronicus, Wakey!Wakey!, Fucked Up, Dom, Big Troubles and more. See Ticketfly.com for tickets to the Bazaar's performance space.

-Beer and wine garden featuring local breweries and wineries.

When: December 15, 16 and 17 from 5:00 PM until 1AM.

Where: 149 Kent Ave, Brooklyn NY. (Entrance between North 5th and North 6th). Near the Bedford Ave. L train stop or the North 6th Street ferry landing.

Cost: Free except for the ticketed music space.

As we've mentioned a few times, BrooklynVegan was responsible for the Friday night music and our lineup is: Fucked Up, DOM, Big Troubles, Radical Dads, Caged Animals, Frankie Rose (DJ Set), DJ Bill Pearis. All that for only $10 (and you can shop, eat and drink before and between bands).

Look around the Bazaar's website for more info.

Posted by Anonymous | December 15, 2011 12:26 PM

12:28 clueless much?

Posted by Anonymous | December 15, 2011 1:13 PM

Why would anyone have an event in Brooklyn that is not in Williamsburg? Fail.

Posted by Anonymous | December 15, 2011 1:25 PM

i can't put my finger on it but there is something wrong about this

Posted by Anonymous | December 15, 2011 1:41 PM

1:25 - Wow, really? There is a world outside of Williamsburg, believe it or not...

Posted by Anonymous | December 15, 2011 1:44 PM

YYY will be there

Posted by Anonymous | December 15, 2011 2:08 PM

Does anyone know when the hold steady play on saturday? kind of not wanting to deal with more than i have to...

Posted by Anonymous | December 15, 2011 2:21 PM

Yeah, also wondering about set times especially for Saturday. I'm assuming with at least two openers and doors just opening at 5PM, Titus won't be on until 8 at the earlest, and The Hold Steady not until 9:30... but probably later than that, right? Probably more like 9 and 10:30? Assuming they want to have the bands playing close to the end to keep people there closer to the 1AM close?

Posted by Anonymous | December 15, 2011 4:20 PM

1:25: What are you talking about? It IS in Williamsburg.

Posted by Anonymous | December 15, 2011 4:47 PM

Okay but seriously, roundabout set times would be awesome. I'm thisclose to getting tickets for myself and a bunch of friends for tomorrow, but I don't want to buy tickets to the music portion if I know I'm going to miss Fucked Up because I got out of work late.

Posted by Justin | December 15, 2011 5:12 PM

Ok the best NYC bands are Passion Pit, Ra Ra Riot, White Rabbits, The Walkmen, and of course Tool.

Posted by Anonymous | December 15, 2011 7:56 PM

yeah, I would stick it in her

Posted by Anonymous | December 15, 2011 7:58 PM

I have walked out of Fucked UP atleast twice. And I can't even count how many times I have walked out of Titus Andronicus, Hold Steady Shows.

Posted by Anonymous | December 15, 2011 8:55 PM

I'm about to walk out on Brooklyn.

did anyone go to this last night? reviews?

Posted by Anonymous | December 16, 2011 10:00 AM

8:55, your life sounds amazingly fun. There are so many bands I'm dying to go see and then walk out of.

8:56, actually, coming on BV and asking about set times is usually 70% more reliable than just googling it.

Posted by Anonymous | December 16, 2011 11:46 AM

^ tis true, but in this case no one responded for about 15 hours and the set times are posted in a few places.

Posted by Anonymous | December 16, 2011 12:24 PM

OK. I'll bite. Anyone want to post a link to where the set times are posted? Cause I haven't been able to find them...

Posted by Anonymous | December 16, 2011 1:24 PM

I did not walk out on Brooklyn...

So you go to them because why?

It looks like the perfect place to land good deals, is the bazaar held regularly? I would love to attend it during my trip in New York a month from now. I would be delighted to see what the vendors have to offer!

I have never drank wine outside until this festival came up, so I'm pretty proud to say I've done things for the very first time there. I hope this year I'll get to do something new, as well. I've heard there are a lot of good bands to show up.
