Omegas @ ABC No Rio - 12/17/11
Omegas

Even without Citizens Arrest, Omegas/Mind Eraser/Night Birds/Death First at a space as small as ABC No Rio is an exciting prospect. So even though cXa cancelled their appearance at ABC No Rio on Saturday due to illness, it was still quite a formidable bill at the sunsetting-and-reopening venue, a benefit for the space. Here are some pictures from the show (though we unfortunately missed Inflatable Children and Death First - mem Grudges/Ruin Lust)

Omegas, who earned a spot on my favorite LPs of 2011 list, also played 538 Johnson (like they did earlier this year) with Boston Strangler later that night.

Check out Brian from Night Birds' favorite LPs of 2011 HERE. Check out more pictures from ABC No Rio and some videos, below...

These photos are like Where's Waldo except replace Waldo with any female...

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2011 12:04 PM

all 12:04 cares about is pussy. stay at your hip hop shows.

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2011 12:19 PM

Look at the mugs on some of these creeps...This looks like The Kids of Widney High, 10 year reunion.

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2011 12:36 PM

why is the sausage who I guess is the "singer" for that band running around in a Burberry trench and basketball shorts? Creepy, even for sausage rock.

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2011 1:17 PM

What is sausage rock?

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2011 1:32 PM

DFJ!!!

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2011 1:37 PM

Hey 12:19 go fuck yourself. If I listened to hip hop why the fuck would I ever open a link that says Omegas played ABC No rio... And your comment's pretty insulting to hip hop fans.

I broke up my band called "Ian Dicksons Arm" and started a new band..
"Ian Dicksons Beard"
We will tour all winter

Where are the Inflatable Children?

What is wrong with this site?

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2011 2:15 PM

Inflatable Children are the Rodney Dangerfield of punk even twenty years later.

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2011 2:30 PM

2:03 wears FUBU and speaks ebonics.

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2011 2:36 PM

The 2nd and 3rd pics of the Mind Eraser set are priceless.

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2011 2:56 PM

so many sausages, makes me sick to my stomach. when will sausages learn to stay out of rock n roll and stick to being gay fuckin' jocks?

Posted by goatzap | December 20, 2011 3:00 PM

I'm so sick of the sausage comments. This is totally normal straight behavior ok?

Very Homo-Erotic

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2011 3:09 PM

I think Omegas pride themselves in being gay, so I don't why all the sausage comments. They would probably take them as compliments.

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2011 3:25 PM

Funny thing is that I remember the Inflatable Children being the only band to have actually played with Citizens Arrest. I think Janis even wrote a song with those dudes!

ABC sure was full of fun bands then.

Gay ones too.

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2011 5:21 PM

Mind Eraser...my god. Angry gays should just come out of the closet and spare us the horrible music.

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2011 6:08 PM

after 12 PBRs, almost anything is interesting and funny

almost anything

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2011 6:37 PM

Anyone who boasts of their PBR (ugh) consumption online has much larger problems than finding "interesting and funny" content on the internet, and trust me I'm certainly not implying you're anything as cool as an alcoholic.

The angriest thing about this show is the pent-up nerds who post the words "sausage" followed by the obligatory "lulz" on this board... It's really like a gross reveal stating "I'm sad world, and nobody takes me seriously so I post anonymously on this board and then I giggle... hee hee".

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2011 11:49 PM

I myself am so happy to see the Inflatable Children again! Others bands rocked but they uphold the spirit that ABC no Rio is all about!

Can't wait to see them rock in the new ABC!

Posted by Anonymous | December 21, 2011 1:45 AM

12:16 i bet that dude eats mad hummus

Posted by Anonymous | December 21, 2011 2:21 AM

Oh I get it, "Sausage rock" = hardcore punk because its audience/performers are disproportionately male. Thus, they are gay which makes them illegitimate as artists/musicians. Well-played! Dan from the Omegas' 15 years of playing in bands, putting out records, booking shows and publishing zines are meaningless in the glaring light of his gayness by association!

Posted by Mike from DBCR | December 21, 2011 10:22 AM

I noticed that the Inflatable Children had many women in attendance during their set. They are popular with both sexes.

Posted by Anonymous | December 21, 2011 11:15 AM

Omegas = fruit loops

Posted by Anonymous | December 21, 2011 12:00 PM

This just in from JAMA: According to researchers, those who post anonymous bullshit on Brooklyn Vegan are statistically proven to be popular with women. Whereas previously it was thought to be rather pathetic the research clearly shows that these "fun guys" are extremely happy and lead highly productive lives... Lulz indeed, my friends! Kudos!

Posted by Anonymous | December 21, 2011 1:22 PM

I like the Rest in Pieces shirt.

Posted by Anonymous | December 21, 2011 1:34 PM

What a second! The Inflatable Children are on Freddy Alva's "Fuck Rock" comp with Citizens Arrest. Old school!

Posted by Anonymous | December 21, 2011 3:27 PM

All this talk of sausage reminds me of the Inflatable Children song "I Can't Eat It." Excellent stuff.

Posted by Anonymous | December 21, 2011 5:32 PM

You know you're a complete asshole when you type "lulz".

Posted by Anonymous | December 21, 2011 5:43 PM

This article reminds me of the Inflatable Children song Ignore Me on the FUCK ROCK comp! No mention at the top or in the bill listing!

As Yakov Smirnoff would say "what a blog!"

Posted by Anonymous | December 21, 2011 7:57 PM

You know what is cool, the dude from Inflatable Children did not wear the standard black band shirt but a black marching band shirt and some strange gold shirt underneath. Nice tight red pants too!

Posted by Anonymous | December 21, 2011 7:59 PM

^ He sounds like a cool guy. He must have to beat the women off with a stick. lulz

Posted by Anonymous | December 21, 2011 8:10 PM

I think he works in a malt shoppe. Came right from work. Girls love young men that work in malt shops.

Posted by Anonymous | December 21, 2011 8:17 PM

Plus at the show he played a red ukulele. Girls like that sort of things these days.

Posted by Anonymous | December 21, 2011 8:18 PM

^ he should look into employment in the pizza delivery industry. Sausages run that shit like Scientologists run Hollywood.

Posted by Anonymous | December 21, 2011 8:23 PM

Yakov Smirnoff may have been in the Inflatable Children in the 1980's at some point. I remember him saying something about it while enjoying a matinee at his Branson show!

Funny stuff.

Posted by Anonymous | December 21, 2011 11:21 PM

Inflatable Children don't look like kids except that awesome dancer they have in the video. That dude rocks!

Posted by Anonymous | December 22, 2011 10:18 AM

I think they look pretty hot! Exuding youthful indifference.

Posted by Anonymous | December 22, 2011 10:26 AM

Need more photos of the Inflatable Children from this show! They were the best band at the show!

Posted by Anonymous | December 27, 2011 8:41 PM

VERY NICE THANKS

I think they look pretty hot! Exuding youthful indifference.
