Naomi Shelton & the Gospel Queens opened for Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings at their first of four NYC shows at Music Hall of Williamsburg last night (12/6). They are the openers again at the last sold out show which is at Bowery Ballroom on 12/14.

Proceeds will benefit participating Greenmarket and Harvest Home farms that were devastated by Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee in September. Great set from Naomi and Sharon Jones.Personally, the two ppl behind me needed to take their conversation outside. I don't even think they took a breath they were talking so much during the openers set..Jones works it and includes everyone.If you got good moves stand up front and you'll get to share them with Jones on stage.

To counteract the BV bullshit shilling for Bowery Presents. The shows are not sold out. They put more tickets on sale yesterday and today and will do the same for Bowery next week. Last night they were selling tickets at the box office.

well, since everyone is so fuckin smart here and has an OPINION (which is fine) that they mis construe as a fact let me re-state and say if you are one of the few people on the planet who hasn't been to a Sharon Jones Show, and you got moves stand up front and you will probably end up on stage.
