The Men should tour with girls! Then inbetween the bands we can Seperate the Men from Girls!

Is that Jim Norton?

so stoked for both these records.

a pretty good example of a band that gets more "press" (aka appearing in posts on this site) than they do actual fans. the men's music is SO average! and so was their live show! i don't understand.

Actually, they should both open up for Women. And, if you really want, you can have MEN on the bill somewhere too.

These guys suck. End of story.

This band is only amazing if you've never listened to any other punk before.

Private Pile is the reason this band is so popular

The Men are pretty "meh", BUT they are nice people and hardworking

POP 1280 are awesome though.

Posted by Anonymous | December 14, 2011 1:30 PM

Are you people this contemptuous and angry in real life?

Posted by Anonymous | December 14, 2011 2:18 PM

THE MEN ARE SO GAY - HAVE YOU EVER CRIED WHILE LISTENING TO WAITING ROOM ?

Posted by Anonymous | December 14, 2011 3:21 PM

this band is alright, but they just don't play that authentic, dirty, down in the delta blues like the black keys.

Posted by Anonymous | December 14, 2011 5:32 PM

whoever left that youtube link is trying to kill this band

Posted by Anonymous | December 15, 2011 1:02 AM

POP 1280 are OK but have quite a bit of Birthday Party in them or a tinge of This Heat or a Chrome Cranks look except their from Massachusetts. Bless their darn souls though.

Posted by Anonymous | December 16, 2011 3:46 AM

The birthday party were not cyber punk nerds.

gonna go ahead and re-post "this band is alright, but they just don't play that authentic, dirty, down in the delta blues like the black keys."

I think Pop. 1280 are a very consistent band with a relevant aesthetic whose imagery draws on the mundane, sickenginly repetitive nature of existence. Their singer Caleb March's narrative lyrics draw from a rich literary oeuvre of post-modern angst that in tandem with the dissonantly sophisticated musical arrangements finds itself especially apropos in post 9/11 urban tension. It is the baroque soundtrack of a disenfranchised, numbed, and clueless mass of twits rotting in the motion of their meaningless lives. Bravo!
