Zola Jesus at KEXP during CMJ (more by Dominick Mastrangelo)
Zola Jesus

After this weekend, Zola Jesus will head back home to Los Angeles for a couple of months of R&R. But the new year will bring a return to the road for the pint-sized woman with the ten-ton vocals; Zola Jesus will hit the road for a string of dates starting in February, and including a Feb 18th date with Webster Hall. Tickets go on sale Friday at noon.

Zola Jesus contributed to the opening track "Intro" on the new M83 LP. M83 is also touring early next year.

Zola is amazing--she gets better every time you see her live show. If she isn't for you, she isn't for you.

the chorus of the video above sounds sort of like that fleetwood mac song about doves not being able to sing

YAWN

Posted by Anonymous | December 7, 2011 4:34 PM

Strong voice but it overpowers all her music. and sometimes its off key

Posted by AnonHUMMUS | December 7, 2011 4:57 PM

Oh jesus!

Posted by Anonymous | December 7, 2011 5:43 PM

If her voice is what now passes for "strong" we've really lowered our standards. And I consider myself a fan.

i could go for a ZJ right now

I must be getting old. Like a lot of stuff that seems to merit notice around here, this just seems like complete shit to me. I don't even know how to categorrize it, really. Pop music trying not to be? Bad music trying to be pop? I think I'll stick with complete shit.
