Active Child at MHOW in 2011 (more by Erik Erikson)
Active Child

Active Child has a ton of international tour dates on the way, including Australian and European dates in February and March and a North American tour to follow with support from some pretty impressive openers, Balam Acab and Superhumanoids. The tour hits NYC twice in May, with shows at Bowery Ballroom on May 10 and the much smaller Mercury Lounge on May 11. Tickets for both of those shows go on sale Friday (2/3) at noon with an AmEx presale starting on Wednesday (2/1) at noon.

Active Child recently released a video for "Hanging On," off 2011's You Are All I See. Check that out, along with a list of all the dates below.

Balam Acab kicks off a short European tour this week with labelmates oOoOO and Holy Other. Speaking of oOoOO (aka Christopher Dexter Greenspan), he just announced his new EP, Our Living is Killing Us, which is due out April 10 via Tri Angle. It features collaborations with Butterclock, who has performed live with oOoOO. The cover art and tracklist are below.

Speaking of Superhumanoids, they recently released the track, "Geri," which you can download above and stream below.

All dates, video, stream, and oOoOO EP info below...

Balam Acab is the only band I'd see out of that line-up. Active Child is miserable. Anyone that pays to see them needs a money manager to dissuade you from making stupid purchases.

Active Child was laughably bad when i saw them in November opening for M83. Dude has a great voice and the harp gimmick was cool, but the overall sound was goofy and their songs were utter shit. i also think if someone picks up a set of drumsticks for the first time they could be their drummer within a week's time. simple stuff in that department. avoid this band at all costs.

Can anyone else out there recommend this band? I've never had anyone tell me if they are good live or not.

Active child is horrible. I don't think they are good live but then again there were a few drunk people that apparently thought they were good...
