at least 1 of these 3 will be at Radio City in March
Coldplay

Billboard reports:

"The Secret Policeman's Ball is letting America in on the party: The British-based music and comedy festival is coming to New York in March.

Coldplay, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Mumford & Sons and Russell Brand are among the acts who have signed on for the event at Radio City Music Hall on March 4. The concert will benefit Amnesty International, as it has since it started back in 1976 with celebrities like John Cleese. Over the years, Bono, Sting and others have participated. This will mark the first time it's being held in New York City.

"For us, it's iconic and a very special thing, and has provided the opportunity to really celebrate the presence of freedom of expression and free speech, and how we can move people and how we can bring people together, and just how powerful that is," said Amnesty International spokesman Andy Hackman in an interview Tuesday. "

Reggie Watts is also on the bill. Tickets are on AmEx presale now. They go on general sale Monday at 10am, and range from like US $55.00 - US $505.00.

Coldplay also have shows coming up in NJ and other places.

I am sure most people know this already but just a head's up. The bands do not play full sets. So far from it.They play 2 oe 3 songs at most.

Yeah I think people were going into this expecting Jon Stewart to play the majority of the songs in his catalogue(???).

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 1:49 PM

Did someone say Mumford and Sons?

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 1:50 PM

Is Jon Stewart a band 1:49? Try to read idiot

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 1:50 PM

That was the joke I was making, you fuckin dope. 1:46 said "Warning everybody, the bands dont play full sets". That was really valuable advice considering that there are only 2 bands on this bill so far and the rest are comics/late night hosts. Good one, jackass.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 1:52 PM

all the $55 tix are gone

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 1:55 PM

Again, 1:49/1:52 you look like the idiot you are. Again, learn to read. There are actually a number of other bands being added to the bill. You know when they say "more to be added". That is what that means. Actually you are an even bigger idiot than i first thought because if you believed that there were only 2 bands listed you would assume they would play much longer sets. You know to fill out a 2 hour show and to justify those prices.
Also, by the way, as jokes go, don't give up your day job(if you actually have one)

Take care dummy

Fred Armisen and Reggie Watts in one place at one time?

Shoot me now.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 2:08 PM

2:02 - you lose. move on to another thread - i'm sure you'll get the better of someone at some point.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 2:24 PM

2:02 needs to give it up.

great comedians, horrible bands.

The name-calling & vitriol on this site fucking SUCKS. It's gotten much worse over the years. People are fucking immature. If you disagree with someone, or want to point out their mistakes, do it without all the name-calling. What are we in middle school or something?

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 2:51 PM

I am convinced that the unwitty mean spirited name calling and shit is really coming from a very small cadre of numbskulls. My current guesstimate is 3, but it might be only 2. Anywho, I don't think it's "systematic" in that I don't think that the majority of BV commentators are engaging in the schoolyard bullying.

I live in the Slope. I want to have a low key place that is walking distance where I can see great shows. There really is a huge market for this. Something should fill that void.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 2:59 PM

well this should make it a lot easier to pull pulp tix on friday

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 3:18 PM

2:51, middle school? Where the fuck are you from??! we call it junior high around these parts

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 3:20 PM

dear lord you've started the junior high/middle school thing again

I have son in NY so looking forward to trying to make this show. Noticed the Sat Night Live photos above and have a friend in Second City group from Chicago and hoping she can make the "big time" soon.

2:51, Get used to it. It is not just on here but everywhere. It is not just a few on here either unlike what 2:57 thinks. Almost worse than the vitriol has to be the even bigger "numbskulls" who attribute comments they do not like to the work of just 1 or maybe 2 people. Way to rationalize. It is not going to change any time soon either. Not when you have morons who post shit like this

"2:02 - you lose. move on to another thread - i'm sure you'll get the better of someone at some point."

How can you begin to reason with a waste of space who looks at making comments on a blog as winning and losing? Wow, idiocy and lameness at it's finest.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 4:35 PM

Oh and to 2:02, you did not get the better of anyone. Get a clue.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 4:43 PM

Would be cool if, while Mumford and Sons were in NYC to do this, they played a separate show that was not $500.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 4:52 PM

Special guest: Lana Del Rey.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 5:15 PM

hey 2:51 you suck

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 5:58 PM

CLEVER, 5:58!!!! REALLY CLEVER!!!! LOL!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 6:03 PM

Damn you guys are so mean to Fred Armisen.
He's a funny, nice, caring man who helps old ladies across the street.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 7:31 PM

I am sure most people know this already but just a head's up. Coldplay sucks. They really, really suck.
