Guns n Roses @ the Varvatos store in 2010 (more by Nate "Igor" Smith)
Guns N' Roses

Axl Rose's current version of Guns N' Roses are heading out on a short "up close and personal" tour this February, timed to coincide with fashion week (true story). The currently-six-show run kicks off with three NYC shows and also includes a NJ show. They'll play Roseland Ballroom on February 10, Terminal 5 on February 12, and Webster Hall on February 15, except they'll be calling Webster Hall The Ritz for that show, as that was the name of the venue when they filmed Live at the Ritz there in 1988. The tour also brings them to Atlantic City's House of Blues on February 24. Tickets for the NYC shows go on sale Wednesday (2/1) at noon and tickets for the Atlantic City show goes on sale Friday (2/3). All dates are listed below.

In related news, Guns N' Roses tribute band Appetite For Destruction plays BB King's on April 27. Tickets are on sale now.

All dates and the entire "Live at the Ritz" concert from 1988 (it's on YouTube), below...

The Ritz is Webster Hall. Pretty sure that is where they filmed their MTV special

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 12:32 PM

t5 is small? they should play bowery or mercury.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 12:34 PM

"Estranged" "Civil War" "Nightrain" You've got my fift... $125?! You could've seen them at Izod for under face.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 12:34 PM

Tickets are $125...

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 12:42 PM

Doors 7pm....GNR 12:30

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 12:43 PM

"Wasn't The Ritz already in the former Studio 54 by '88?"

No. I remember going to a show in '89 and it was still the Ritz.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 12:48 PM

The "real" GnR looks like a cover band now

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 12:49 PM

Doors at 7pm. GNR at Fat'O'Clock

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 12:49 PM

"You could've seen them at Izod for under face."

When they played Hammerstein several years ago, it was hard to find floor tickets for under face ($75).

I'd sit on axl roses face

Hey where's Tommy someone find Tommy we're out on the road ~

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 1:07 PM

Make no mistake, this is going to be tough to get tickets for. He timed this to coincide with Fashi0n Week, which means that less t1ckets will be available to the general public; they'll be held for V1P douches who are in town for the fashion shows.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 1:08 PM

LOL

Posted by Mark | January 30, 2012 1:09 PM

12:34, that won't be the case this time. IZOD is a much larger venue, which means supply was bigger than demand.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 1:10 PM

If you really think seeing them at Izod even begins to equate with seeing them in a much more intimate better sounding place like Webster Hall then I have no words to express how much you lack of a brain. Enjoy that Roger Waters Wall show at Yankee Stadium you tool.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 1:12 PM

Haters keep hating, but all accounts from everyone I've spoken to that's seen them during this tour, is that Axl's voice sounds better now that it ever has, and that the band sounds great. They played for 3 hours at IZOD.
If you do plan on going, plan on getting into work late the next day.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 1:20 PM

Is the $125 ticket price confirmed? What's the source? It's not on TIcketmaster/Ticketweb yet

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 1:32 PM

"Enjoy that Roger Waters Wall show at Yankee Stadium you tool."

I have nothing to do with this convo, but I just wanted to point out how flawed and stupid you are. The Wall is meant to be seen in a large venue. Dumbest analogy ever!

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 1:39 PM

Roger Waters is obviously going to bring a giant production like The Wall into a club right? My GOD you're a moron

The Wall is like a broadway show in a way you're supposed to see it in big venues

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 1:51 PM

Oh nooooo, Bowery is promoting this?? Forget it, we're not getting tickets...

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 1:52 PM

I gotta say, it's pretty cool that they're changing Webster Hall to The Ritz for the night. I've seen many amazing shows at The Ritz, brings back memories.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 1:56 PM

It's probably going to be the same setlist as Izod, so I kinda see 12:34's point. Axl's voice gets buried in the mix no matter the venue. Happened at Hammerstein, happened at MSG, will happen at t5.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 1:58 PM

30 second sellout.
This will be the metal douchebag version of the LCD Soundsystem fiasco; only difference being that Axl won't even try to pretend that he gives a fuck.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 2:01 PM

$125 for Webster. $80 for T5. By that logic, should be $70 for Roseland.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 2:11 PM

Axl > Paxil

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 2:44 PM

The Ritz moved to the old Studio 54 space and called it The New Ritz that is where G&R played..

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 2:54 PM

$125 for The Ritz? that's ridiculous.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 2:55 PM

2:54, GnR played at the old Ritz (Webster Hall) in 1988, and they played at the New Ritz (Studio 54) in 1991.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 2:57 PM

"The Ritz moved to the old Studio 54 space and called it The New Ritz that is where G&R played.."

I do not know for sure, but I somewhat doubt it. I attended a show there in March '89 and it was the Ritz. I am fairly certain that the infamous GnR show was filmed before that. '87? '88?

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 2:59 PM

"Axl > Paxil"

Strangely enough, I agree.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 3:01 PM

The 1991 Ritz performance was a surprise unannounced show. People knew about it, only because record industry people were given advance notice. You had to line up the morning of the show, buy a voucher and a wristband; you were only allowed to buy for two. Then you had to show up that night and trade your voucher for a ticket and walk right in with it. Monster Magnet opened the show.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 3:04 PM

2:57 is correct. They played at both the old and new Ritz. The old Ritz is where the famous filmed performance took place, in 1988.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 3:05 PM

"$125 for The Ritz? that's ridiculous."

They have to pay for a new sign.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 3:06 PM

$125 for The Ritz? that's ridiculous... until you consider the resale value.

Those webster tix will be re-selling for over $500 easily.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 3:10 PM

3:10, I agree. With Fashion Week happening, many t1ckets will be held back from the general public t1cket sale.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 3:19 PM

If you're a 50+ classic rock loser, you must be PUMPED for a lot of these upcoming shows (Springsteen, G'N'R, Roger Waters).

^ That's a bot or someone spamming messages boards to spread the idea that tickets will be hard to get. The 1 in place of the "i" gives it away.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 3:35 PM

Ya haters are whack! These shows are gonna be pretty epic, and I don't even like GnR. Loud, energetic, reckless. Yup, they'll rock balls. $125 rock balls? Yeah, I ain't gonna drop that kind of coin on them. Have fun.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 3:42 PM

3:31 - You sound very naive, little hipster. Some day in the future, someone will refer to you as a 50something loser for attending LCD's ten zillionth reunion show and paying 500 per ticket to do so.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 3:43 PM

3:35 - Actually, that was not a bot. I put the 1 in there to avoid the comment 'being held by the blog owner'.
I'll tell you I told you so after it goes on sale.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 3:46 PM

obviously the webster tix will resell for around 500. if you don't think so, i'll gladly buy tickets off you for 250 for the webster show if you can grab them.

#iscalledmakingmoney

Posted by David Lee | January 30, 2012 4:11 PM

buy 2 tix to gnr at webster for 250 total, sell 2 tix to gnr at webster for 1200 total, buy 2 tix to jay-z at carnegie hall, spend extra $400 on drugz, ball out.

Posted by David Lee | January 30, 2012 4:12 PM

Oh good.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 4:33 PM

If you're a 20+ indie rock loser, you must be PUMPED for a lot of these upcoming shows (Cloud Nothings, Tennis, Neon Indian).

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 4:53 PM

If you were a nickelodeon watching loser in the early 90's, you must be PUMPED for the Pete & Pete show and all of the related comments.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 5:03 PM

There are no bigger losers than 20 something indie Rock losers.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 6:25 PM

No Axl. Just no.

Posted by Sunkull | January 30, 2012 7:16 PM

Who's Axl Rose? Wasn't Guns n' Roses fronted by Robert Plant?

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 7:29 PM

How can he sweat so much every show and yet retain his tubbiness?

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 8:52 PM

Tickets will be gone before they are "on sales"...but ya know, gotta go through the motions. Good luck..

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 9:32 PM

I hope they play paradise jungle!! I saw them in 87 - enuff z nuff reunion sooon??

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 9:59 PM

I hope Dr. Drew is there!

Posted by Anonymous | January 31, 2012 12:05 AM

"I have nothing to do with this convo, but I just wanted to point out how flawed and stupid you are. The Wall is meant to be seen in a large venue. Dumbest analogy ever!"

Actually the logic is pretty clear in that post. You are just a mongoloid who could not understand it.The point i gather was this show at Webster is pure balls out rock n roll in a small intimate setting. Sound wise a million times beter then some stadium show. To many smart people, that is where the real joy and importance of live concerts lie.
On the other hand, the fact that Roger Waters is bringing his spectacle Broadway style show to a giant baseball stadium with terrible sound and sightlines horrible but for a few rich idiots is the complete opposite.
The post made complete sense in response to a previous dolt's comment trying to equate this show with seeing them at IZOD center.

Posted by Anonymous | January 31, 2012 7:47 AM

Axl sure looks like he's having a lot of fun there. Should be pretty fun!

Posted by Ahmed Bin Wahabi | January 31, 2012 8:39 AM

"I hope Dr. Drew is there!"

He'll be in the audience, but it's not Axl with any substance abuse problem.

Posted by Anonymous | January 31, 2012 9:46 AM

got my ritz tickets. yall missed the presales.

Posted by Anonymous | January 31, 2012 10:03 AM

Yes 10:03 and you paid at least more than 50 dollars more than what people will pay tomorrow. It was a joke. They only offered Vip tickets at 250 and 175.

Posted by Anonymous | January 31, 2012 10:07 AM

yea 1007, good luck getting webster hall tickets tomorrow. really, good luck. this was your only chance.

Posted by Anonymous | January 31, 2012 10:17 AM

hahahahaha yea dude i paid 50 dollars more than what other people will pay tomorrow. that doesn't mean i can't still sell these tickets for ~$500 each. the numbers still seem to work out in my favor.

i'll also buy 2 tickets tomorrow if i can and sell those as well, since the 2-ticket limit doesn't apply bc the presale was directly through GNR and the normal onsale is ticketmaster suck a dick

Posted by Anonymous | January 31, 2012 10:19 AM

10:17 you are clueless. You will be surprised how many people can get tickets tomorrow and will just laugh at you. Not to mention as usual Bowery will have more on sale close to the date and def some at the door(as with NIN). You really know nothing about the concert industry in this city.
10:19 you won't get close to 500 for these. Trust me dummy.

Posted by Anonymous | January 31, 2012 10:22 AM

NIN at webster hall i bought and sold 1 ticket for 750. i know what i'm doing.

Posted by Anonymous | January 31, 2012 10:26 AM

^ You are a fucking liar. The Bowery show did not even reach those prices. But keep telling everyone what you buy and sell cause I am sure everyone believes you.

Posted by Anonymous | January 31, 2012 10:32 AM

i sold NIN tickets to bowery and webster for $700 each. i know because i paid for my plane ticket and hotel with the money (went to all four shows). 10:26 is right.

Posted by Anonymous | January 31, 2012 10:57 AM

keep calling me a liar, i'll keep making the money and letting you think i'm lying.
