nerd rock

great show. though i think glasslands can get a bit overcrowded... during sold out shows like this you literally cannot move and it takes 15 minutes to get to the exit after the show ends.

he is 17. i do enjoy the sound an LP would be nice this year. kinda bummed i'm missing T5 tonite but maybe a Bowery show soon?

King Krule has got to be the most inexplicable buzz act in recent memory. Is his popularity serving as a counter weight to anti-bullying propaganda? Are we not allowed to be mean to a 17 year old hack (as opposed to a 32 year old hack). Where's the line? Maybe this is the cruel delineation of my age starting to show. I dont get this at all. This is what my dad hears when he listens to hip hop. WHY WORLD. (kills self)

so how much did the marketing co. for true panther pay for KK to be all over this site this weekend?

Stop it now before it lays eggs!!!

If this kid played at Saint Vitus he would most likely get raped.

IDK 10:04, his drummer could be an intimidating skinhead

The show / Krule was good, even though the set was only 30 minutes and was basically one long song (not a bad song though). These shows are drag though - room full of people that just want to be seen, trend groupies, phototogs with high powered flashes going off like Britney is stepping out of a limo with no panties (no offense Erik)... 20% of them being industry / Vice employee / manager vultures all looking for a piece of the pie.

When this kind of thing is at Webster it's annoying enough, when it's at Glasslands or any "DIY tastemaker venue" it ruins whatever is onstage. I'm sure most of the crowd was also at Lana Del Ray etc etc for the same reasons.

Seems more like club culture.

what 11:55 said. word for word.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2012 11:59 AM

seeing Vice employees in the crowd is the kiss of death

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2012 1:47 PM

^^11:55 speaks the fucking truth. Every post of "this guy's great" reeks of people trying their hardest to impress others. Just like Lana Del Rey, liking this dude is proof you're a sham of a human

But seriously though... Why does ABADABAD have 3 guitarists?

So much hate on here. Mark my words, when this kid's ball drop he's gonna be huge, HUGE I tell you. Here's your chance to up that hipster cred and get in on this before "everyone" starts flooding his shows, before he can drive himself to the gigs.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2012 4:33 PM

I'd give my left ball to be KK.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2012 5:39 PM

4:33 totally misses the point and is the embodiment of what's wrong with culture now. No one cares if you were "there first" and the people that do are worthless.

Any schmuck can log onto Mitchdork and "discover" music. Word of mouth and the slow, satisfying growth of talent is dead.

Posted by Anonymous | January 15, 2012 6:08 PM

no I take that back. I'd give my left ball to be Lady Gaga.

6:01 needs to be put into a scream room.

Hey, kid, tell your mom I'll pick her up at nine.

The King Krule EP is pretty good. I'm not really sure what having red hair or being young has to do with any of your objections to the music. BV commenters are such a bunch of cunts.

that's robert pollard's grandchild

hippie shit

Posted by Anonymous | January 16, 2012 11:04 AM

10:04 ha! so true

Posted by Anonymous | January 16, 2012 11:39 AM

5:14- thousands and thousands of dollars. but it was all worth it. even the premium I paid to have my own photo second from the top of this post. DREAMS COME TRUE

Alot of BV (bad vibes?) commenters are homophobic and racist...cowards it would seem
