DOWNLOAD: Lee Ranaldo - "Off the Wall" (MP3)

M Ward @ Summerstage 2009 (more by Paul Bachmann)
M Ward

Still no east coast dates to report for the reunited fIREHOSE, but they did announce a west coast run of shows, some of which are with M. Ward who also plays Coachella (not the first time friends Mike Watt and M. Ward will share a bill.) All fIREHOSE dates are listed below.

M. Ward however will head east as part of a set of just-announced May dates that include a NYC show at Webster Hall on May 11 with Lee Ranaldo. Tickets are not on sale yet but check ticketmaster for updates. All tour dates are listed below.

Speaking of Lee Ranaldo, he recently revealed the first song from his upcoming album, Between the Times & the Tides (out March 20 via Matador). The track is a relaxed R.E.M.-ish rocker called "Off the Wall." Download it above and stream it below.

"M. Ward looks like he sharted and doesn't know what to do in that photo."

This is why the dude has a no photo policy.

No photo policy...ha! That's rich!

Doesn't Danzig have the same no photo policy? Saw some people getting yanked at the last Halloween show for it. Did I really just bring Danzig into this? Woops.

Lee Ranaldo is awesome, but the phrase 'one trick pony' comes to mind when thinking of M. Ward.

3:31 - Muggsy Bogues would look like a giant next to Danzig

fIREHOSE opening for M. Ward? WTF? Surely they can do a headlining tour, or at least open for someone more appealing.

Saw the fIREHOSE/M. Ward last night in Santa Cruz. Weird combo, don't know who thought of it.

fIREHOSE were good. Crowd sucked since they were obviously there for the headliner. Nothing but girls and short men up front, with us old farts in back singing to fIREHOSE. Watt played with his back to the audience most of the set (except when singing), watching George the entire time.

44 minute set. Started with their first album (Brave Captain) and ended with their last (Powerful Hankerin').

Stuck around for a couple of M. Ward songs, but I was bored, so I WTFO. No wonder why short guys like him, he is tiny.

To clear up a little something, NY was NEVER onsale at arcadefire.com today. I was refreshing all morning and it wasn't there. Whether it was ever supposed to be or not is the confusion. Merge said it would and neither they nor Arcade Fire has said anything to clear that up.
