Radio City Music Hall last night (more by Amanda Hatfield)
Antony

Antony played Radio City Music Hall last night.

Tickets went on sale this morning for the upcoming Florence & the Machine show at Radio City Music Hall. They might be gone, but you can win a pair on the BrooklynVegan Facebook.

Tickets to the Amnesty International presented Secret Policeman's Ball with Coldplay, Mumford & Sons, Jon Stewart, Colbert & more, taking place at Radio City on 3/4, are still on AmEx presale. Regular sale begins Monday at 10am.

Tickets for Pulp's Radio City show go on sale at 10am. We're also giving away a pair.

Tickets for Death Cab's Beacon Theater show go on sale at 11am.

Feist is playing Radio City too.

Yeah, tickets sold out instantly for Florence. As always, something is suspiciously strange about that.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 9:58 AM

same with pulp, who will announce like three more shows later today.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:02 AM

Pulp instantly sold out.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:02 AM

I had 2 tickets to Pulp in my basket and then they disappeared w/ a note "we cannot process your request." Where did they go????? Darn it! It was in my basket!

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:04 AM

I'm sitting on a pair of Orchestra 3 tix...row L.

Should I keep these?

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:04 AM

A pair in Orch KK. That was fucking terrifying watching the "waiting" screen.

Tix will probably be at/below face by the time the show runs around, but it's a relief to have something ahead of time.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:05 AM

I tried to get two Pulp tickets at less than a second after they went on sale and they were sold out.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:05 AM

TICKETMASTER=FRAUD....
no even NASDAQ's servers would be able to sell tickets that fast....

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:06 AM

@ 10:04 - SAME exact thing happened to me. Had four, errored out for no reason after I selected my pickup method. Thanks a fucking lot, Ticketmaster.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:06 AM

I'm still pulling pairs (some in orchestra, but like 2 or 6). Keep trying.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:06 AM

I tried later and got second row mezz. fine for me.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:08 AM

Death Cab is still relevant?

Posted by al | January 27, 2012 10:08 AM

...and now all I'm getting are Orchestra 1, 6, and 7.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:08 AM

singles are still floating around. keep trying

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:08 AM

errored out here as well, and now the wait is over 15 minutes? i try to be zen about you, ticketmaster, but you make me want to kill.

Posted by lauren | January 27, 2012 10:10 AM

now my wait time for Pulp is 15 minutes on the site. I hate you, TM.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:10 AM

I can't believe I still couldn't pull up just ONE pair.

I settled on a single ticket in the first row of the second mezzanine. Ugh. I don't think I've ever sat up that high at RCMH! At least it's the center (500) section though.

Posted by M | January 27, 2012 10:11 AM

Time to announce another Pulp show.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:11 AM

I don't understand why people are getting 15 minute wait times. I keep pulling two seats next to each other each time I search.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:12 AM

Because Ticketmaster is horrible?

This happened with Radiohead -- heard about some people still finding tickets well after it went on sale, but I just kept getting crazy wait times and no tickets.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:14 AM

Ticketmaster seems to have crashed....I've got two browsers running, both have wait times of 15 minutes of more. Or maybe my browsers have crashed? Brohirrim, any advice?

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:15 AM

I think Springsteen broke Ticketmaster

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:16 AM

Yeah, I went back to try a few more times for a pair, but I'm getting that 15 minute wait too.

Looks like I'm flying solo in the 2nd mezzanine. What a shit show!

Posted by M | January 27, 2012 10:16 AM

Suck my nuts, Ticketmaster. My wait time has been "approximately 15 minutes or more" for the past 5 minutes.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:16 AM

Springsteen hasn't even happened yet! That's at noon!

Posted by M | January 27, 2012 10:16 AM

I got row AA in 500 section with the chase card thing. Much better than the amex preferred thing. Looks like seats are still available through that.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:17 AM

oh god, Springsteen is on sale right now too? Forget any kind of functionality of the site now.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:17 AM

TM will be fun when the Springsteen sales happen at Noon. A bunch of old people and scalpers flipping out.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:17 AM

UGHHHHHHHHHHHH

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:18 AM

What is the Chase Password?

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:18 AM

the NJ Springsteen shows are on sale now

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:19 AM

System is crashing because the geniuses at Ticketmaster decided to put Springsteen tickets on sale too. Idiots.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:19 AM

Don't use the two browser method. That always backfires.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:20 AM

Same thing. Two computers, two different browsers, same 15 minute wait time. On the bright side, I did score a captcha word of "ovumtits."

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:20 AM

chase thing is the first 6 numbers of your card

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:20 AM

this better not be a sitting show just because us old hipsters have chairs behind us. prepare now people. pulp is for drinking and dancing to.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:20 AM

Oh right. Jersey.

Well Ticketmaster better get their shit together before noon b/c I plan on getting Bruce MSG tix too!

Posted by M | January 27, 2012 10:21 AM

have yet to get thru on ONE FUCKING TICKET FOR PULP. fifteen minute wait times? ticketmaster you are the fucking worst.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:21 AM

chase or not, still 15 min wait

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:21 AM

I had two in my cart, hit 'complete order' and it said I had no tickets. I had 4 minutes left to complete it, I don't understand. Tried calling but none of the numbers on the site work.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:22 AM

http://i.imgur.com/hnKi4.png

Been sitting on these, do I pull the trigger or hope something better magically shows up in my cart?

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:23 AM

@10:22. I'm 10:04. That's similar to what happened to me. Something isn't right!!!

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:24 AM

I've had an 8 minute wait for the last 16 minutes

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:25 AM

15 minutes later and I'm still on the 15 minute screen. paradox.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:25 AM

I called Ticketmaster at 9:30 and asked a bunch of bullshit questions until it was 9:58. then I was like, "so how about that pulp band?". i got row CCC orchestra pit. ALWAYS CALL.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:26 AM

Pulp rules.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:26 AM

yea it goes from 1 min to 15 minutes and then infinity

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:27 AM

9 minute wait for the past 20 minutes

Posted by bulf | January 27, 2012 10:27 AM

AND ANDREW WK FUCK THAT SHIT

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:27 AM

I got in right at 10:00, had 2 on the right side of first mezzanine. I went to purchase, got kicked out, and then was only able to get a single ticket in 3rd mezzanine 10 mins later. Chase card preferred also giving me 15 min wait endlessly.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:30 AM

So when are they adding another show. Like I've always said, TM is the only place where time goes backwards.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:31 AM

my fifteen minute wait has been a half hour. fucking garbage. this is insane.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:31 AM

fuck this

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:31 AM

at least i didn't just wait for three hours outside of mercury lounge and come out empty handed

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:32 AM

I love when people blame T1cketmaster when tickets se11 out 30 seconds after it's onsale.. It's not TM's fault, if the promoter, the band's management, the venue, and the agent hold back too many seats from the public.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:35 AM

Soooo... do I stay on this endless 15 minute wait screen or what? IN THE NAME OF HUMMUS TELL ME WHAT TO DO.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:35 AM

HAHAHAH, just pulled a pair in Orchestra 5 (Row H, though). Sold out my ass.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:36 AM

love that people think they are entitled to a second show just because they couldn't get tickets. don't hold your breath.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:37 AM

i love how the same people who are outraged when they don't get anything on ticketmaster become smug pieces of shit when they do

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:38 AM

agree with 10:38

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:38 AM

Has anyone tried calling TM for tickets since the wait screen started happening?

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:39 AM

they 100% will not have a 2nd show, sorry. maybe in a year, but not on this run.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:39 AM

i love how everyone the past 2 days was saying only the good seats were going to be available today. rationalization at its finest.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:40 AM

@10:38 is it totally un reasonable to think that a ticket should be attainable if one is on time in attempting to purchase it?

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:41 AM

you must be new on planet earth if you are shocked or surprised by TM's shit system.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:41 AM

"Thank you for commenting.

That's my favorite thing about this blog.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:41 AM

there were great seats available today @1040, i know people pulling tix in orch 3/4/5 rows AA,BB,CC this morning.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:41 AM

there are still tickets. just keep checking

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:41 AM

i am 10:40 and I agree with 10:38

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:41 AM

Florence isn't worth 100 bucks a ticket, anyway.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:42 AM

Yeah, after my window timed out, I tried again with the Chase code (which I didn't know I had), and got, well, not great seats at all, but four at the back of the orchestra, at like 10:30. Not nearly as good as the tickets TM LOST on me, but I did get them.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:43 AM

I called Ticketmaster after I had tickets but was kicked out. I complained a little while the guy on the phone checked a few times then he 'magically' found me 2. TM is an evil, evil entity.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:44 AM

It doesn't make no sense, no, it's not convenient, no, it doesn't fit my plans, oh it's something I don't understand...

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:45 AM

10:41 must be buddies w/ scalpers or full of shit, since nearly all of rows AAA and BBB are already up on resale sites.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:45 AM

1045 he said AA,BB,CC not AAA and BBB

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:47 AM

WTH, it's 15 minutes wait on presales not Springsteen or Pulp also. TM is overloaded.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:47 AM

@ 10:47 oh, my b.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:48 AM

ironic that tix are about $100/each:

laugh along with the common people,
laugh along even though they're laughing at you,
and the stupid things that you do.
**Because you think that poor is cool.**

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:48 AM

10:44, if tickets magically reappear, it's not necessarily TM that makes that happen. Many times the venue or the agent will play games with the system, throwing tickets in, taking tickets out.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:49 AM

493 tickets fro Pulp on Stub Hub

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:50 AM

agree with 10:49
ive gotten the best seats at various shows during the middle of the night the night before a show. tix just magically appear.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:50 AM

hey 10:48, tickets started at $35, but you're totally right...pulp should add a series of shows at a loft in bushwick to maintain appropriate street cred.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:50 AM

i'm 10:38 and i just tried it on my phone again and got 4 in 1st mezz. still 15 min wait time on my computer, but i tried playing with the quantity

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:52 AM

think it's best to start over on TM, or risk being put at the back of the line? Feel like I've been stuck for 50 minutes...

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:52 AM

I started over, still a 15 minute wait.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:53 AM

Pulp wasn't able to se11 out Radio City back in the 90's when they were "popular". What's different about them now?

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:53 AM

Stubhub as a guy selling the entirety of Row AA, Orch 3 -- seats 301-314. This game couldn't be more rigged.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:54 AM

Whenever I search on my phone, I keep finding the same pairs. Orchestra 5 Row H, Orchestra 3 Row V, Orchestra 6 Row O.

Lesson learned: use your phone.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:55 AM

@10:53 the young kids realise what genius these guys (and girl) are.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:55 AM

although i spoke too soon because now it's been 'processing' forever. buahaha

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:55 AM

ive had 2 15 minute waits since 10:01. its now 10:56. tried to check it out from scratch on another computer 10:56 and it went right to 15 minutes.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:56 AM

10:53 what is there hard to understand that a band that has not played a show in this country for like 15 years and who likely has many more fans able to go to shows now due to either being older and having the ability or becoming a new fan in that time or people who didn't see them the first time around assuming they would have another chance or those who DID see them and feel nostalgic?

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:56 AM

I'm 10:04 and still trying ever since the tickets IN MY BASKET disappeared: 2 computers and my cell phone. Plus trying to call them on my land line to see what happened. Only getting a busy signal and the supposed 15-minute wait that has now been 45 minutes. . . .

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:58 AM

My phone has the endless 15 minute wait too...

Posted by M | January 27, 2012 10:58 AM

in that case I'll have rum & coca cola

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:59 AM

it was too good to be true that i pulled 1st mezz tickets this late--not loading now. fuckkkk

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:00 AM

Couldn't give a flying crap about this show, but that's a fantastic shot of Radio City.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:01 AM

are any of those 45-minute waits pulling up any tix? has anyone gone from an endless wait screen to an actual purchase?

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:01 AM

only on my phone browser

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:02 AM

really, endless 15 mins for Bruce? I smell another mass complaint

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:03 AM

finally errored out on a 15 minute waiting page that took more like 40 minutes.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:04 AM

livenation mobile app is killin it right now.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:04 AM

Roger Waters's presales also went on sale this morning too. And Bruce shows in Newark at 11am and MSG at noon. This is where TM legitimately has a problem; poor planning.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:06 AM

11:04b is killin it

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:07 AM

Just pulled great orchestra seats for pulp AND Florence. Keep trying everyone

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:07 AM

At 11:07. Did the tickets come from the 15-minute wait or did you start over?

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:08 AM

OMG FEIST!!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:08 AM

pres hall jazz band prob killed it somewhere last night

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:08 AM

Only scattered singles available according to the woman I spoke to after a goddamn 40 minute wait on hold. Got 2 orchestra that way, 6 rows apart and on opposite sides of the venue. Good luck, and Ticketmaster kindly burn in hell.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:09 AM

pulled 4 in orch center row CC for death cab on livenation app, sellin dat shite

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:09 AM

Yeah, the Live Nation app is coming through. Seats for Pulp are okay, but at least they're still available.

Posted by M | January 27, 2012 11:11 AM

How in the fuck can Florence Welch command more for tickets than Pulp?

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:11 AM

THIS IS MADNESS

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:14 AM

11:11 If I had to guess, I'd say it's because her music is still relevant. That, or she has released two albums in the past decade against Pulp's zero.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:14 AM

Live Nation app is iPhone/iPad only? Not finding it on Android.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:15 AM

" love how everyone the past 2 days was saying only the good seats were going to be available today. rationalization at its finest."

Much better seats went on sale today you fucking idiot. I pulled 2 in row dd center.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:15 AM

florence welch live <<<< jarvis
girl is all over the place

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:15 AM

flornece is incredible live, what are you on

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:16 AM

i'd still rather fuck jarvis cocker

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:17 AM

Try the LiveNation phone application. I was able to score a single ticket in Orchestra 4, Row D just now.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:17 AM

...and a pair for Florence (no Chase) again on the Livenation App. Burn in hell ticketmaster.com.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:20 AM

The Florence tix are all Orchestra 1, though.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:21 AM

USE THE LIVENATION app, just scored two tickets, first mezz, center bit, fourth row

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:24 AM

i'm pulling orch 7 row xx for florence on the app

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:25 AM

Pulled Orch 7 Row A here

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:28 AM

yeah, the livenation app is having no problem pulling up tickets whereas the site is refreshing 15 minutes over and over again.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:30 AM

Added perk: No captcha / re-typing presale passwords

I got 4 Refused tix on Wednesday that way.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:31 AM

LiveNation should burn in hell for not making their app available on Android.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:32 AM

I could've sworn that everyone learned that the LN mobile app was the best way to pull tickets quickly during the Radiohead debacle.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:32 AM

Ticketmaster should burn in hell for not making an app, period. The only ticketmaster app available is 'ticketmaster mexico' and i ain't trusting that shit.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:33 AM

The Live Nation app is 100% the way to go. I just scored a pair of Pulp tickets in Orchestra 6, row SS (how fascist!). Do it!

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:33 AM

Pulp is def not sold out.Good tickets will go for cheap come week/day of. Patience is rewarded

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:34 AM

I take it back, I thought I was row SS in Orch 6, but I'm row S. Yay! BTW, I used my Chase info. First 6 digits of a plain old debit card that most New Yorkers probably have.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:35 AM

Once everyone catches on that the LiveNation app works better than the TM site, then the extra high volume is going to make that suck too.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:36 AM

11:36, like anyone really reads the BV comment section anytime after the boom period for a ticket sale is over.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:37 AM

Not really, but word of mouth comes into play, too.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:39 AM

Ha, Chili Peppers has a presale this morning too, apparently. But that should have no effect on anything, given that no one gives a crap about them anymore. Their new album is awful.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:40 AM

public mea culpa that still rewards scalpers in 3..2..1...

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:42 AM

I'm 10:04. Got 2 random singles on the TM mobile site on my phone. Desk top computers still saying 15+ minute wait. Couldn't find any pairs of tix tho.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:43 AM

the past few days have been such a scalpfest, it's wearing me down.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:52 AM

getting doubles on the mobile ticketmaster site!

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:55 AM

not very good, tho

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:55 AM

nevermind. seems reg site is up and all is gone

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:58 AM

grabbed a single ticket minutes ago, in the orchestra row NN, so don't give up. there may be tickets, even if the site says there aint

THIRST FOR KNOWLEDGE!!

Posted by thighmaster | January 27, 2012 12:00 PM

yea i've been trying for 2 hours and i just got a single Orch seat

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 12:03 PM

I got 2 Orch 2 seats together, about 10 minutes ago, after 2 hrs of trying. strange.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 12:08 PM

Meanwhile, Bruce tix are a nightmare.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 12:09 PM

I just got a single for orchestra too.

So now I have 3rd mezzanine, section 100; and orchestra, section 700. Could not be further apart. But better than nothing for sure.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 12:11 PM

Got an orchestra single a couple minutes ago. The site was working fine for about 2 minutes... then Bruce went on sale.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 12:12 PM

the 90s are alive in portland.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 12:12 PM

live nation app isnt even working for Brucey now

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 12:12 PM

Both Pulp and Florence will likely add one show each.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 12:15 PM

Way to go, you guys. You killed the LN app.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 12:17 PM

Florence in particular will probably add a 2nd show. Pulp, not as likely, but very possible.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 12:17 PM

bruce has been tuffffff

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 12:23 PM

I bet Pulp will add a show that Tuesday, day before (with Coachella on Friday and presumably them traveling there on Thursday). They can't do better than selling out a 5,000-capacity venue in an hour or so (who knows how fast it would've been if TM worked correctly), so probably they'll just add another NY date rather than trying to fool with another city. Jarvis has done solo "tours" that consisted mainly of NYC and San Francisco. Or maybe they'll add some more east coast dates, but I doubt they'll miss the opportunity to make more money at Radio City.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 12:29 PM

i am not sure i would go see any of these bands even if they played for free

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 12:38 PM

12:29, agreed. If there are dates open in the surrounding days, and they don't have to tear down/build up equipment, why wouldn't they? It just makes sense, especially if the demand is there.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 12:38 PM

i, for one, hate free shows.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 12:39 PM

12:38, I'd go. Just not for $100 per ticket.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 12:40 PM

10:54, yeah that's shady. Amazing how if TM limits people to buying 6 t1ckets per person, that someone has 10 in a row to se11. Obviously people are getting tickets from the inside.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 12:50 PM

12:38 #1- yet you took the time to post about them. You live a sad, empty, attention-seeking little life, don't you?

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 1:04 PM

if either were having a 2nd show, it would already be onsale like dcfc. sorry guyz

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 1:13 PM

why is everyone posting speculations like they know what they're talking about? @1:13

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 1:20 PM

"I take it back, I thought I was row SS in Orch 6, but I'm row S. Yay!"

You do realize that RCMH starts with double-letter rows, right? So row S is like, one of the LAST few rows, all the way in the back.

Posted by M | January 27, 2012 1:24 PM

M, you're the dude that bought wheelchair access seats, aren't you.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 1:37 PM

Pulp was special...

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 1:54 PM

bowery has it listed as officially sold out now. crap.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 1:56 PM

i threw back an orchestra seat b/c i'm unwilling to pay $75 to sit alone. f this.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 2:18 PM

This will be the show of the year.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 2:29 PM

Pulp are massive live. RCMH is great for them.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 2:31 PM

I hope they play Disco 2000 and Do you remember the 1st time?

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 2:35 PM

1:13, not necessarily.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 2:48 PM

don't give up

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 2:53 PM

Pulp will add more nights.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 3:18 PM

2:53 'cause you have friends

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 3:19 PM

saw Pulp in 92. Epic.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 3:31 PM

test

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 3:41 PM

Wow, taking a look at the Pulp clip at 3:33 reminds me how shitty, bland and milquetoast so much contemporary indie music is (and the same goes for the accompanying generation, sadly). The lack of personality, wit or point of view in most current stuff is a fucking travesty although it's no surprise as it's the reflection of the sad, insecure desperate-to-be-hip Gen Y-ers overall. Wish more of your moms would have had abortions.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 4:09 PM

^
this!

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 4:11 PM

I still can't believe they're playing RCMH, selling it out no less. The biggest place they headlined here in NYC in the 90's was The Academy. They also played Irving Plaza at some point.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 4:21 PM

Ah wait.. now it makes sense. This is a "Bowery se11 out". Which means, you'll be seeing tickets magically reappear in TM the week of the show.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 4:23 PM

Pulp rules.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 4:23 PM

Pulp never made 1 good record.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 4:24 PM

Jarvis Cocker is the Scott Stapp of British Rock.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 4:26 PM

Who?

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 4:26 PM

Pulp is a great band, and no disrespect to anyone who is going to see them (should be a great show). I just don't think they're popular enough to actually se11 all 5600 seats at RCMH, when they were only able to fill the Academy and Irving in the 90's. Of course there are no tickets left if Bowery holds back 2000-3000 or so seats from public sale.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 4:28 PM

Pulp > Radiohead > Sigh

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 4:30 PM

I wouldn't go that far, 4:30.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 4:34 PM

they played hammerstein ballroom in 1998, which is about 4000 capacity? how big was the academy?

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 4:37 PM

i mean, it's not too surprising that they may have picked up 2000 more fans in the past 14 years.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 4:37 PM

The Academy was about 1500 capacity. Hammerstein has 3400 capacity.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 4:45 PM

It's also a totally different situation now. When they played the Academy, people were under the impression that they would have the chance to see them again if they missed that show. That isn't the case this time.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 4:50 PM

Look, they rarely played the US. So, most of their fans in the 90s never even got the chance to see them play live. Add on to that any new fans, and selling out Radio City isn't weird at all.

Pulp > Spiritualized > Crap

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 1:25 AM

WE ARE ALL TICKETMASTERS BITCHES...
they are just laughing it up

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 2:00 AM

BTW, all the problems everyone was having with TM yesterday morning was a side effect of the Bruce ticket sale http://backstreets.com/news.html

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 7:04 AM

We all learned a very important lesson yesterday: the internet is no match for Bruce Springsteen.

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 9:52 AM

People sound really stoked for Pulp. They should've picked a bigger venue.

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 10:11 AM

2:00 - Ticketmaster is the least of the problems. They suck, because of the glitches and the fact that they still haven't found a way to thwart brokers that use hack software/bots to get tickets.
But TM are not the ones laughing it up...
The ones laughing it up are everyone else involved who makes money off the shitty system by reselling the tickets.

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 10:12 AM

WHY IS NO ONE TALKIN BOUT COLDPLAY

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 10:13 AM

Because they suck donkey balls.

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 10:14 AM

This is Hardcore sucks.

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 10:14 AM

BV didn't even mention the Chili Peppers tickets going on sale. It's amazing what a really shitty album will do to a band's street cred.

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 10:18 AM

when have the chili peppers made a non-shitty album? that would be much more of a shock.

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 10:56 AM

10:56, Since Blood Sugar Sex Magic, every album other album has alternated between shit and decent.
One Hot Minute - shit
Californication - decent
By The Way - shit
Stadium Arcadium - decent
new album (whose title I forget because I'm tired of them) - complete shit.

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 11:10 AM

Chili Peppers are one of the worst bands of all time, and they do not have even one remotely good album.

They shouldn't be mentioned on this site at all.

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 11:49 AM

11:49 - Just for that I'm going to keep mentioning them.
RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS
RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS
RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS
RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS
RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS
RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS
RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS
RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS
RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 12:05 PM

Of all time? In the history of shitty music (and boy there's been lots of it), they come up tops on your list?
I mean hey, they're not for everyone but when bands like Nickelback, Creed, Poison, Ace of Base, Roxette, Starship, Journey, Insane Clown Posse, Air Supply, Color Me Badd, etc exist, I can't see putting RHCP up as worst.

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 12:13 PM

Radio City is gonna be great!

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 12:18 PM

RHCP is just as shitty as Nickelback, Creed, Poison, Ace of Base, Roxette, Starship, Journey, Insane Clown Posse, Air Supply, Color Me Badd, etc.

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 12:18 PM

we can build this dream together, standing strong forever

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 12:21 PM

What 12:18 said. RHCP is in that league.

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 12:21 PM

Say what you will, but they have a great rhythm section. Flea is an amazing bass player and he works well with Chad. The songwriting however.... um.. needs a little work.

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 12:22 PM

I like spending my Sat. afternoons in the BV comment section of ticket sale posts that are no longer relavent.

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 12:23 PM

Pulp is great. This is Hardcore was shitty, but the other albums are brilliant.

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 2:54 PM

^ Different Class sucked too. Everything before Different Class was brilliant.

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 2:59 PM

All these Pulp fans coming out of the woodwork are impressive. I've always thought that back in the 90's, the only people who liked Pulp here in the States were Anglophiles who hated grunge or people who were actually British transplants who moved to NY.

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 3:06 PM

...and people who work in the record industry.

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 3:07 PM

nope ton of people love pulp. been waitin on this reunion forever. also different class is an excellent album. get real.

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 4:18 PM

STOP TALKING ABOUT PULP!

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 4:38 PM

4:38 must be the lone Chili Peppers fan.

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 5:11 PM

Pulp are a tremendous live act. They can really rock large venues.

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 6:02 PM

I got crappy seats to Pulp, but I'm stoked!

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 6:03 PM

Pulp > Coldplay > Radiohead > Crap

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 6:24 PM

Pulp made some tremendous albums in the early 90's

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 7:43 PM

^ except for This is Hardcore. That one sucked.

Posted by Anonymous | January 29, 2012 9:21 AM

Did resellers suddenly find a new crack in the system? Friday I and various friends got shut out of so many shows we started checking out smaller ones we didn't even want to go to that much and they were all sold out as well. I have never seen a day where five or six shows were sold out except for random singles within minutes.

Posted by Anonymous | January 30, 2012 4:05 PM

I told you Pulp would add a second show.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 1:33 PM

Thank the void!

and

with 500 tickets for the Wednesday show still left on Stubhub lets see those prices drop.
