Don't most of the good seats for Radio City shows go to donors and American Express card holders?

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 9:27 AM

Let's all put our hands in the air and say thank you no Terminal 5 or Roseland!

What is so crappy bout T5?

Just asking... may go to a show there while in NY and just want an idea.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 9:40 AM

Think of T5 like this. You have two options:

a) contain your bladder for 4+ hours to get a good view

or

b) stare at the back of someone's head the entire show

That's really what it comes down to.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 9:43 AM

THIS IS INCREDIBLE NEWS.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 9:59 AM

Terminal 5 is great if you like hot dogs.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 10:04 AM

Pulp will play All Points West.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 10:12 AM

Only 10 comments haha. Not suprising. I mean Lana SNL girl post had how many comments?

This is their first US performances in over 13 years!!!

Get ready hipsters! Pulp is going hardcore!

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 10:16 AM

9:40,

Don't listen to those people. It's not the best venue but, as long as you're not one of the total losers stuck watching the show from the side on the floor, you'll be fine. I've seen a ton of shows on the main floor of T5 and had a great time. Just arrive somewhat early (right before or during the opening act) and you'll be fnie.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 10:27 AM

This is Hardcore.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 10:48 AM

oh man, these are going to be some fucking expensive tickets.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 10:49 AM

i hope so. keeps out the commoners.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 10:50 AM

1049am Well SF prices are $48-$59...

I'm thinking Radio City will be at least $50.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 10:55 AM

So stoked!!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 11:09 AM

"Just arrive somewhat early (right before or during the opening act) and you'll be fnie."

exactly... stay in one spot cramped at the front of the stage for 4+ hours and you'll be fine. SOUNDS AWESOME RIGHT??

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 11:17 AM

Are you people really wasting space on this thread debating the merits of T5? It's fucking PULP!

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 11:22 AM

11:17 yep for Roseland it is 6+ hours!

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 11:26 AM

Shit, I'd love to go but am unsure if I can afford it.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 11:28 AM

11:17,

Not at all. I've gone to shows, gotten beer, taken a piss, went back to the floor all the time. As long as you're not a total puss, you should be fine moving around.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 11:35 AM

Most overrated band ever.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 11:37 AM

$50 is my tolerance level. I bet it will be more, though.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 11:42 AM

YESSS!!!!!!!!!!

I will pay any price for this show!!!!

Posted by M | January 23, 2012 11:52 AM

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 11:53 AM

whom/what will be a presale before then?

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 12:01 PM

12:01,

We've already had our broker pre-sale which has eaten up 70% of the tickets. Please check your trusted "secondary market" site for any of those.

Posted by Bowery Presents | January 23, 2012 12:06 PM

R.I.P., 11:37.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 12:10 PM

Since you guys can't seem to search, here are the ticket prices: $75, $60, $45, $35

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 12:13 PM

this is same night as aislers set/jim ruiz @ Chicfactor at Bell House, which may be bummer news for some.

Posted by bill p | January 23, 2012 12:18 PM

Chicfactor, the world's finest disco zine.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 12:27 PM

over rated and washed up

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 12:28 PM

"this is same night as aislers set/jim ruiz @ Chicfactor at Bell House, which may be bummer news for some."

Yeah bummer news for people who already bought bell House tickets for that night. While Aislers Set/Jim Ruiz should be good it is not even in the league of seeing Pulp again.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 1:08 PM

Hey, to the guy asking about Terminal 5 just to counter the Bowery Presents employee saying it is a good venue. While the sight lines are pretty terrible, the worst thing about it is the sound. It is atrocious no matter where you are. It is a concerte box that was not designed for music. But if you think the sound at MSG is fabulous, don't go to concerts for the sound and music or you are just a deaf idiot who can't tell the difference then by all means run over there.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 1:14 PM

who cares if you can't move once you get your good spot at T5. that's what your beer cup is for.

on another note, if you've been within 40 feet of the stage at T5 at any recent shows, and have found yourself showered with someone else's urine, i'm truly sorry.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 1:26 PM

I like my OJ with EXTRA pulp...Jarvis is not from concentrate #thejuiceisloose

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 1:27 PM

how quickly will they add a second show on the 10th??

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 1:28 PM

128 no extra nyc show.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 1:32 PM

1:14,

I'm not that big of a T5 fan mostly because it's really out of the way to get to. In terms of sound, totally varies night to night. I remember Elbow sounding fantastic there.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 1:47 PM

Yes I agree with all the haters

Pulp suck

Please no one buy tickets for this show

You won't be cool

Stay away

You'll get crabs and people will think you are lame

You don't want that

Don't go

They are old and their music is lame.

"Think of T5 like this. You have two options:

or
b) stare at the back of someone's head the entire show

That does not sound like a problem with the venue, it sounds like a problem with your genetics. Blame your parents that you are a midget.

I have no problems with the sightlines at T5, it is simply that sound is terrible. Awful. If I am on the fence about a show, I will simply skip T5. Not worth it. Sound at Roseland is worse (in the back), but the vibe is much better and better location.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 2:07 PM

You don't like walking 15 minutes uphill to the nearest subway at 1am? WHAT'S WRONG WITCHOO

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 2:31 PM

I hope they play 'common people' and 'lost weekend' and 'underwear' and some of their britpop friends come out on stage too.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 2:45 PM

Glad its 90 dollars for a good seat. Means it should be easy to get one since most of you cannot afford that.Have fun sitting up top.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 3:01 PM

Ha $90...should have been $30 at T5

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 3:02 PM

I heard he never plays Common People anymore

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 3:03 PM

I prefer the Pulp of the chickpea... Also known as the "mighty tan". Knameen?

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 3:22 PM

they should play a small venue instead of RCMH i mean this guy did well in the 90's but is kinda overrated
they fit in very well at mercury lounge

3:22 im agree with u

Posted by Kazukovox | January 23, 2012 3:33 PM

$90 to see a band that was never really that popular here to begin with is totally fucking ridiculous. Even the cheap seats are gonna be like $50.

And I'm going to buy tickets and then complain the whole way there.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 4:10 PM

pulp > blur > radiohead > oasis

There. I fixed it for you.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 4:11 PM

I'd pay over $50 for Tune Yards, but not this.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 4:31 PM

if you complain about the price you're a FUCKING IDIOT FUCKING IDIOT FUCKING IDIOT

buy 4, sell 2, make $100 profit and go for free.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 4:35 PM

"2:07
Help the Aged
Me thinks you miss my point"

I am probably older than you. My point still stands: there are no sightline issues at T5 unless you are vertically challenged.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 4:40 PM

As a youth, I ingested large amounts of hummus and the powerful Phyto-nutrients allowed me to grow to a whopping 6 foot tall. If that isn't a strong testament to the power if the chickpea, I don't know what is. I enjoy Terminal 5. I can see the bands well. All praise to the tan!

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 4:48 PM

one song... one album that almost mattered... you read mojo mag too much

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 5:12 PM

What type of venues did Pulp normally play when they toured NYC?

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 5:30 PM

5:30 -

Irving Plaza and Hammerstein.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 5:35 PM

If you'd rather see this for $40 at T5 than $75 at RCMH, then you don't deserve a Pulp reunion.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 5:37 PM

3:03, On that channel Palladia, they'll show bands performing at festivals, and I saw Pulp play at an English festival, I think it was within the past two years, and he (they?) played common people.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 6:18 PM

If they have a presale for AMEX members only, I WILL LOSE IT! If this is true about 70% of the tickets being gone already - I will stab someone to get tickets. I mean it!

AHHH

Posted by tether | January 23, 2012 6:30 PM

Jarvis played T5 solo a few years ago- flop. Vocals inaudible, standard for T5. (He was great at MHOW the previous night.) It's not really a venue for live bands, although it'd be a nice place for a wedding or bris.

Radio City is the right venue for Pulp fans- comfy chairs, good sightlines and sound, a bit of camp decor. Morrissey's always great there.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 6:46 PM

Suede>Gene>Elastica>Britpop

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 9:31 PM

If people can pay $70 for Antony at RCMH, then they can surely pay $90 for Pulp.

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 10:06 PM

Pulp>Blur>Oasis

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 11:08 PM

pulp > radiohead > blur > crap

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 11:49 PM

Terminal 5 would have been better

Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2012 11:50 PM

T5 would be the ideal but whatever

Posted by Anonymous | January 24, 2012 1:44 AM

Term 5 would have been medium.

Posted by Anonymous | January 24, 2012 2:46 AM

I would take T5 of RCMH because you have a fighting chance of getting up close. With Radio City odds are tough to get a really good seat!

Posted by Anonymous | January 24, 2012 7:13 AM

T5 is good if the band is good. Pulp would rock T5.

Posted by Anonymous | January 24, 2012 8:15 AM

everyone keeps saying t5 this t5 that. You kids are fucking tards, just listening to the dope above you and agreeing to make you seem more "in touch" with acoustics, fags

Posted by Anonymous | January 24, 2012 11:05 AM

Yeah, but being up close at Terminal 5 sucks if you have a bunch of sweaty drunk near-adolescent fucktards jumping around in your vicinity

Posted by Anonymous | January 24, 2012 11:43 AM

Totally agree, everyone is like t5 this and t5 that, but they don't even know!

Posted by Anonymous | January 24, 2012 4:05 PM

AMEX pre-sale is a fraud.....no tickets available.....

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 10:08 AM

Yeah, these pre-sale tickets SUCK.

Posted by M | January 25, 2012 10:16 AM

pulp pre-sale is totally a fraud. page didn't change until 10:03 and then tickets were gone and now 170 tickets are on stubhub FIFTEEN MINUTES AFTER THEY WENT ONSALE. This is such crooked bullshit. Somebody needs to stop these broker fucks!

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 10:16 AM

wtf. pre-sale. page changed for me at 10am and i still couldn't get tickets...

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 10:20 AM

This is bollocks. I got on at 10:01am and there were no preferred seats available.
Then I managed to get two tickets for regular pre sale and it was in 3rd mezz.
I also managed to get 1 ticket for orch OO but overall the tickets were all bad seats.

Posted by Rome | January 25, 2012 10:21 AM

I agree that was not fair! Like every other freaking big Radio city shows...

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 10:21 AM

OH SHIT! I just wrote 5 minutes ago saying how these pre-sale seats SUCK. Then 5 minutes later, at around 10:21, I pulled up row BB of the orchestra, center section (400)!!

I'm happy I got them after 20 minutes of "fishing," but there really IS something fucked up with the way Ticketmaster runs these pre-sales. I don't know why they hold the good seats.

Good luck to the rest of you!

Posted by M | January 25, 2012 10:26 AM

10:26, you got wheelchair access seats?

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 10:29 AM

FUCK YOU TICKETMASTER

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 10:31 AM

400 BB is wheelchair seating dumbass.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 10:32 AM

Lol now all the guy needs is to rent a wheelchair. Good for him i say

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 10:34 AM

dancing? OUT OF THE QUESTION!

also fuck you ticketmaster

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 10:35 AM

GOD FUCKING DAMMIT.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 10:39 AM

Way to tweet about scoring wheelchair seats, 10:26.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 10:40 AM

Hey 10:26
I will be happy to rent you my Grandmother's wheelchair for the evening. She will be in bed all night so she won't need it. Only 100 bucks. Leave your email and I will be in touch.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 10:40 AM

Row CC wheelchair transfer seats are still available, 10:26. You should buy those, too.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 10:46 AM

Stop calling me 10:26!

I put in for best available & that's what came up. So if that is in fact a wheelchair-removable seat, I guess they won't be removing it for a wheelchair that night.

Posted by M | January 25, 2012 10:47 AM

how often to people buy wheelchair seats? i imagine it happens quite often

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 10:48 AM

I can only imagine what the general sale will be like.....

Posted by R | January 25, 2012 10:49 AM

totally a fraud - is ticketmaster and amex together on this?
does ticketmaster transfer the tickets directly to stubhub?............

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 10:53 AM

"Disabled seating is reserved for the exclusive use of the disabled patron and their companion."

Best find a disabled companion (or become disabled yourself), dude.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 10:53 AM

I'm not sure why I was sold a wheelchair-accessible seat when I was searching for Amex pre-sale tix, but I will contact Ticketmaster to see if I'm still able to use it.

Side note, why is it that the handicapped get all the good seats right down in front?!?! That is an outrage!!!

(Kidding.)

Posted by M | January 25, 2012 10:56 AM

is BOWERY PRESENTS involved in this? the next step here is to announce a Terminal 5 show for the 99%...
AMERICAN EXPRESS + TICKETMASTER = Cunts Are Still Running The World........

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 11:00 AM

The fraud business was inevitable. It's been 14 years and there's only 1 show on the east coast and its at a medium sized venue at that!

At this point just take what you can cause I don't think there will be a second date due to coachella

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 11:02 AM

i got an orchestra seat at 10:30. just have to keep trying and hope to get lucky.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 11:03 AM

hahadeath cab for cutie just sold out on amex presale in less than a minute there is something seriously wrong with bowery presents shows what a fraud

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 11:06 AM

Relax you pinheads. Radio City is notorious for this. They never put really good seats on for their presales. The only idiot who got up close is the one who accidentally bought a wheelchair seat. The guy above saying he scored an orchestra at 10:30 got one toward the middle back part. Not a great seat at all.

Just wait till Friday. There will be all the good seats up for grabs and much easier to get.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 11:08 AM

ALSO the fact that bruce is going onsale friday at the same time will keep most brokers bus with other stuff

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 11:10 AM

Well I canceled my wheelchair accessible seat! Thanks for pointing it out to me guys, however snarky. I did NOT want to show up the night of the show & live out a Curb Your Enthusiasm episode. So thanks.

Looks like I'll be trying my luck-- again-- for the general sale. Fuckers!!

Either that or I'll be looking for some handicapped people to take to the show b/c those sears are AWESOME.

Posted by M | January 25, 2012 11:19 AM

Pulp general sale is at 10am on Friday.

Bruce Springsteen is at noon.

I'll probably be on Ticketmaster's site A LOT come Friday.

Posted by M | January 25, 2012 11:20 AM

11:10 unfortunately you are wrong.Pulp tickets go on sale Friday at 10am. Bruce Springsteen tix go on sale Friday at 12.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 11:21 AM

^Bruce Izod at 10am yo!

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 11:23 AM

We can probably get our points across without calling each other pinheads & idiots, kids. People on BV love to act superior & put others down. It's getting a little old.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 11:25 AM

does it help that red hot chili peppers goes on sale in for their newark, nj show at 10am?

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 11:26 AM

my bad thought bruce was 10 ticketmaster gonna be crazy on friday

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 11:27 AM

"^Bruce Izod at 10am yo!"

Izod is even worse sounding then MSG and harder to get for Bruce cause of all the Jersey idiots. But good luck with that.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 11:30 AM

"People on BV love to act superior & put others down"

Snagged two tickets in 1st Mezz Row A just off the center. Got 'em at 10:00 on the dot, so there were some pretty good seats available.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 12:28 PM

Hey - this is off topic - but Mogwai at Webster Hall on June 15th? TM presale started today at 12, but you know a password. Anyone know anything about it?

"Snagged two tickets in 1st Mezz Row A just off the center. Got 'em at 10:00 on the dot, so there were some pretty good seats available."

Those are not very good seats. Well i guess they are if you are the type of person who likes shows at Terminal 5.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 12:43 PM

I got ROW AA Orch...I put in for the hummus free section and bam at 10:05 am I got them!

"Those are not very good seats. Well i guess they are if you are the type of person who likes shows at Terminal 5."

Front row in the first mezzanine isn't a good seat!?! And I hate Terminal 5 with a passion.

BTW, is anyone able disagree with anybody else on this site without being a complete dick? Or is just the anonymity that makes you act like an asshole? (damn, now you got me calling people names too)

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 12:49 PM

Why are my comments being censored?

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 12:56 PM

^ Not really man. That seat is a little too far back and distant. The best seats in Radio City, for sound, sight and overall experience, is the first 10 rows. Sorry.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 12:57 PM

To be fair, the first row mezzanine seat is still 30-something rows back.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 1:41 PM

first row mezzanine is still better than what any of you got, and there is noone in front of them.

Posted by Anonymous | January 25, 2012 1:42 PM

Personally, I like being in the first row of the mezzanine. You get completely unobstructed views and can see the entire stage not only left to right, but front to back.
