Squarepusher

I don't know when the last time Squarepusher played a NYC show, but he's picked a good time to make his return, now that the US electronic scene has been swept by gear grinding bass drops. Not to say that Squarepusher is dubstep, but bass heads could learn a thing or two from his drill & bass freakouts. You can catch him in NYC when he headlines Webster Hall on March 15. Tickets go on sale Friday, 2/3 at noon with an AmEx presale starting Wednesday (2/1) at noon. There's no word on whether this show is part of a larger tour.

Squarepusher's most recent album, Squarepusher presents - Shobaleader One - d'Demonstrator, came out in 2010. Stream that on Spotify and watch the video for "Megazine" from the album below. Also below is a video of a Squarepusher documentary with studio and live footage, which was made last year by The Creators Project.

He played Southpaw in maybe 2006-2007. It was alright, not worth going to Webster imo.

he was just alright at Primavera in 2009. it was actually a snooze.

I remember that Southpaw show sold out something crazy like 4 months in advance, I was bummed by that at the time. I haven't really been that into any of his new stuff though. Shobaleader has a few good cuts, but not sure if I will even bother for this show.

Hmm, he hasn't done anything good for more than a few years. His little brother on the other hand (Ceephax)... wish he'd come to the states!

god damn will nothing ever satisfy you fucks? It's fucking squarepusher! The live experience alone is completely worth seeing. you fuckers are way too picky. just stick to the radio and your lady gaga and be content with that. if you don't appreciate good fucking LIVE music then shut the fuck up...

Saw him play Montreal in '04. Vibert opened with like an hour long set and the he had a two hour set. Longest fucking show I've ever been to. He played with a bass wired into a giant tech setup.

Well past his heyday. Even Strawberry Shortcake can dance to his shit now.

I once knew a rather imposing fellow with a mustache who was a hummus pusher. He always had pita triangles handy in that black trench coat of his.

I like his presence.
