black guy in band: yeah...and deep

Wish the band in the picture was the actual band playing these Beacon shows. Might be worth those prices to anyone other than Jim Dolan and the over the hill hippie morons.

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2012 1:23 PM

"Fucking hate this band so much..."

Whaa? That's pretty extreme. What could you possibly hate about them so much? They are such an awesome, feel-good, southern rock band. Perhaps you just hate life, and yourself?

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2012 1:27 PM

Leave it to BV to post the gayest picture imaginable, which thus overshadows the greatness of said band.

And yeah, the Dolans suck, but we have to put up with them. They fucked over the Allmans 2 years ago, and they learned their lesson. Dont book anything else at the Beacon in March. It wont do nearly as well as the Allmans.

And 12:30, as for your bitching that it's not the same band. Duane Allman left us a long time ago. Did you really expect the band to hang it up after that? Their current line-up which has been in place for over a decade now is awe-inspiring with Derek and Warren.

"Their current line-up which has been in place for over a decade now is awe-inspiring with Derek and Warren"

So you say. That is your opinion.I have seen this lineup and I do not agree. It is not even close to that.

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2012 3:21 PM

Anyone who takes issue with Warren and Derek is a fool. Are they Duane? No, but they are fucking incredible replacements.

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2012 3:35 PM

Oh shut the fuck up 3:35.You are the fool. Just because someone does not agree with you does not make them a fool. Yes Warren and Derek are great players. You gonna tell me the band has the same magic it did years ago. Hell even right before Dickey Betts got kicked out again. No way. But I bet you run over to the Dead or Further at all their shows now and still think it's incredible.

Fleet Foxes needs to do a similar photo shoot

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2012 4:08 PM

having missed the old days with duane, i found their shows and output in the 90s to be fucking stellar. brother dickey was still killing it and they just smoked. the shows were sick.

i agree that derek is outstanding, but it was just a different vibe before. i love these guys now too, but for those prices, it's hard to justify. talk about price gouging your fans, for fuck's sake.

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2012 4:39 PM

I'm waiting for some moron to justify the high ticket prices (as they usually do in the comments on this site).

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2012 5:03 PM

Hey if Dicky aint there then it really aint the Allmans. K?

Posted by Dicky | January 3, 2012 5:16 PM

Allman Brothers are a Classic. They are truly one of the originators of bringing Hummus to the mainstream back in 1970. Pay them your due respect my fellow pita triangle dippers!

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2012 5:26 PM

I saw Dicky Betts at the Westbury Music Fair (might have had a different name by then) with my dad, Molly Hatchet opened, my dad said Dicky sucked and seemed too drunk to play.

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2012 5:31 PM

"Dicky"

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2012 5:49 PM

Gbv destroys the allman brothers.

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2012 5:56 PM

after duane died, the abb sucked.

"Fleet Foxes needs to do a similar photo shoot."

They already have, it's just that those photos haven't been relased to the public since they are a little more, um, suggestive...
