Tim & Eric's Billion Dollar Movie, #shrim
Shrim

"The number of walkouts during a recent Sundance showing of Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie, was almost as funny as the vulgar abominations of comedy happening on screen.

Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim, known for their bizarre comedy sketch show Tim and Eric's Awesome Show, Great Job! on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim, expanded their gallery of grotesques and non sequiturs to a feature-length movie, which made its debut here in Park City.

The surreal (to say the least) story follows Tim and Eric after they lose $1 billion on a movie starring a Johnny Depp lookalike, then have to take over an apocalyptic shopping mall full of hobos, wolves, and losers to earn back the money. Bloodshed, sadistic bathroom humor, and heavy-duty nincompoopery follow.

At least one couple storming out of the theater actually hollered back at the screen. Heidecker and Wareheim could barely contain their glee at a post-screening Q&A. "What'd he say?" Heidecker demanded." [EW]

There's my Chippy! Someone break out the shrimp and white wine, Tim & Eric's Billion Dollar Movie premieres on demand TODAY (1/27). Check your cable listings. The film by the comedy duo, which hits theaters on March 2nd and made its premiere at Sundance, also features Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly and Will Forte.

A few lucky (?) people will also get to check it out on a big screen before 3/2 along with the stars of the film Tim Heidecker & Eric Wareheim in the house, appearing as part of a Q&A session. You'll find Tim & Eric in San Francisco, Chicago, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Austin, Los Angeles, and NYC in February and early March, though tickets to all these special screenings (like at Sunshine Cinema in NYC on February 16th) are pretty much sold out.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:23 AM

I went to see it three separate times, and each time I stared down the screen then walked the fuck out.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:26 AM

Not my thing, but what the fuck were they expecting?

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:28 AM

If Tim & Eric isn't your thing, I feel bad that you can't appreciate good comedy

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:30 AM

This sounds like spin to me

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:35 AM

I love Tim and Eric. I'm glad they made this and exactly, what were they expecting some lame ass Cameron Crow flick starring John Cuzack?

Posted by Really? | January 27, 2012 11:36 AM

haha, I'm going to be stoned as fuck and go watch this!

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:54 AM

11:26, you were at Sundance? That's awesome! You're the man!

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 12:01 PM

11:30 AM- If your idea of good comedy is "Let's watch something that we know isn't really funny, but the fact that it is so unfunny makes it IRONICALLY funny" is funny, then you are right. I don't appreciate good comedy.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 12:02 PM

I don't know if anyone's said this already, but I mean, what were they expecting?

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 12:07 PM

12:02: I agree 100%.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 12:21 PM

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 12:51 PM

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 12:54 PM

This is what I do I sit on you, sit on you, sit on you
This is what I do I sit on you, right on your head!

The show is hit or miss, but sometimes people just find completely random shit funny, that picture at top keeps making me laugh

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 1:04 PM

as of yesterday afternoon, the screening at Sunshine still had 8 tickets left, they just werent selling them online anymore

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 1:12 PM

at some point during season 2 they realized that 90% of their audience was high and would just laugh at anything weird, and have been milking it ever since

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 1:41 PM

Shrim!

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 1:55 PM

"You assholes give stoners a bad name."

Like they need the assholes' help for that.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 2:08 PM

It was at a Festival. I'm sure plenty of people had no idea what to expect. They probably couldn't get into any of the big movies and wandered in to this expecting some Napoleon Dynamite shit.

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 2:15 PM

was Fred Armisen in it or something?

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 2:30 PM

all the food is poison!

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 2:33 PM

was Andy Samberg in it or something?

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 5:04 PM

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 5:27 PM

If you walked out on Tim And Eric you are basically an asshole.

BOATS & HOES

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 10:35 PM

Pretty weak

Posted by Anonymous | January 27, 2012 11:35 PM

I think they were expecting a higher percentage of it being Rango'd...

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 8:26 AM

I love T&E but this movie was painfully awful. Just.... not funny. Between this and their live tour, I really don't think they have any business venturing beyond a 15-30 minute TV show.

Posted by Klaus Kinski | January 28, 2012 6:31 PM

No you are so wrong I was at the premier and like one person walked out.

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 9:21 PM

I went to see it six separate times, and each time I stared down the screen then walked the fuck out.

Posted by Anonymous | January 28, 2012 10:16 PM

Well everyone's entitled to their opinion but wha did they expect?

Posted by Colin | January 29, 2012 11:24 AM

Got my tickles.

Posted by Anonymous | February 4, 2012 5:07 PM

I saw it and loved it. Early prediction maybe, but I'm pretty sure John C Reilly is going to walk away with the Best Supporting Actor Academy Oscar trophy.
