Black Sabbath (more by Tim Griffin)
Black Sabbath

A birdie reports that the re-reunited Black Sabbath was actually supposed to be headlining one of the (two) days of Coachella this year, but that the band was forced to cancel today due to the sad revelation that Tony Iommi has cancer. Goldenvoice scrambled last minute to find a replacement and Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg (or maybe it was the Black Keys) is what they came up with. Full 2012 lineup HERE. Poster below...

much more believable that they were gonna headline night 1 and the black keys is what they came up with (who were probably already playing, but they figured they'd list them as headliner)

black sabbath at this crap festival would have been a shame...they don't fit...you got black sabbath, arguably the greatest band ever and a bunch of hacks. I hope tony pulls through...

1st day - supposed to be black sabbath
2nd day - supposed to be radiohead
3rd day - supposed to be kanye/jay

"much more believable that they were gonna headline night 1 and the black keys is what they came up with (who were probably already playing, but they figured they'd list them as headliner)"

^^
wrong.

black keys wouldn't have signed on w/o being a headliner. and look at those three headliners-- which seems a little out of left field?

esp. considering detox won't even be out, this was not a planned/calculated move.

i love Black Sabbath!

When Iommi gets better they can tour with the Pres Hall Jazz Band. That lineup will kill it.

This lineup is a who's who of bands that you'll forget about by next year.

Main question: How the FUCK is Miike Snow listed higher than GY!BE and Mangum???! Asshole promoters!!!

not that anyone cares about anonymous comments, but i can verify that dre/snoop was a replacement for black sabbath after tony informed them of the situation weeks ago.

Lalapalooza called, they want their lineup back.

Ozzy is old and wears diapers

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2012 10:46 PM

i'd rather have dre/snoop than reformed black sabbath

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2012 10:55 PM

DRE/ Snoop is not headliner material...unless this is Rock the Bells. NWA reforming maybe...

Truly weak headliners (obvs not Radiohead).

Does anyone know what show The Edge is at right now?

Posted by Anonymous | January 9, 2012 11:44 PM

An Inflatable Children show in his dreams.

Posted by Anonymous | January 10, 2012 12:00 AM

The Edge is flying down to New Orleans right now to catch Pres jazz Hall Band. He heard all the talk from that loser troll about how they killed it the other night. Now he wants to see for himself

What does all this have to do with the price of hummus in Austin?

"Main question: How the FUCK is Miike Snow listed higher than GY!BE and Mangum???! Asshole promoters!!!"

because they're mainstream-ish. that's the world we live in

Posted by Anonymous | January 10, 2012 8:44 AM

i'd rather have dre/snoop than reformed NWA.

chronic + chronic 2001 > all NWA albums.

argue it.

Posted by Anonymous | January 10, 2012 9:46 AM

reallly though, they should switch the nights around so dre and snooop headline on 420

Black Sabbath >>>>>> Black Keys

Posted by Anonymous | January 10, 2012 10:41 AM

SOMEBODY GET ME JAH RULE SO I CAN MAKE SENSE OF ALL THIS!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | January 10, 2012 12:08 PM

10:41: Black Keys (or Black anything really) shouldn't even be mentioned in the same comment as Black Sabbath, but your statement is also inarguable.

Posted by Anonymous | January 10, 2012 2:07 PM

does anyone actually base their decision on whether or not to go to a festival on one headliner out of a thousand bands?

Posted by Anonymous | January 11, 2012 11:40 AM

WHERE'S JAH????????
Also why isn't Ray-Jay relevant?

nice 12:08
