Alabama Shakes

Young hot band Alabama Shakes finish up a 3-night, sold out run at London's Boston Arms tonight, and will continue touring the world throughout 2012. After visiting Austin in March to tape an episode of Austin City Limits and play SXSW, Alabama Shakes will drive around North America and eventually find their way back to NYC where they'll headline both Bowery Ballroom and Music Hall of Williamsburg before heading back to Europe. Tickets for both NYC shows are on sale at noon. In May they play Sasquatch. In June they play Bonnaroo. All dates are listed below...

Everyone that complains about TM should go talk to someone about the ticketing/live show industry. Very few of the problems are actually TMs. They just kind of sit there and take all the shit that SHOULD belong to promoters, bands, management, et then laugh all the way to the bank because they don't care.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 2:11 PM

2:11 - you are exactly right. All TM does is provide the medium for ticket distribution. Most times its the artist and/or the promoter that is to blame. This is a known fact.

i need a fucking sweet algorithm and a robot, problem solved

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 2:22 PM

TM doesn't dictate how the tickets get sold. Typically the artist's management and/or their agent will handle how tickets get distributed; they tell TM what to do and they do it. The artist's mgmt could tell TM to do a 2 ticket limit or have box-office pickup only or whatever; that's not TM's decision.

What's that spell?

You stereotyping ass clown. You don't know shit about the South and that's too fucking bad because you might actually like some of the stuff you are so insanely misinformed about and so instantly make fun of for no reason other then maybe you've seen it in a movie.

This band just happens to be pretty good and they just happen to be from the state of Alabama. Maybe next time give the band a listen and decide if you like them or not instead of making stereotypical comment about where they are from.

This band is genuine, with a sound that just might give you chills. Watch & listen to some live Youtube videos.

The album doesn't drop until April. Next time they come to town you'll be seeing them @ T5.

Their show at the Mercury in December was great. Bummed I won't make the Bowery.

The South is filled with inbreds, racists and hicks. It's common knowledge.

And apparently angry trolls too, which was news to me actually.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 3:26 PM

The South is an awful and fucked up place, this can't be argued even if you're from there.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 4:56 PM

How's the hummus down south?

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2012 10:48 AM

What exactly is a hick?

Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2012 12:05 AM

3:26 And you base this opinon on what? How much time have you spent in the South?

4:56 And how much time have YOU spent in the South? None?

The point I was trying to make is don't judge the band on where they are from just listen to the music. Keep an open mind about things. People in the South (especially the younger generation) have been trying hard for years to remove these negative connotations and move forward and progress but until you've spent some time down here don't hold us down with your stereotypical comments. Bands like the Alabama Shakes help to bring a positive light to the South.

Aren't there any LA fans in the house? I'm a little heartbroken that they're not even coming to Los Angeles.
