Anguish

Swedish doomers Anguish are preparing to release their debut offering via Dark Descent this week. The LP, entitled Through the Archdemon's Head, aligns closely to the blueprint set forth by the godfathers of the genre including fellow countrymen Candlemass but with vocals that approach Tom G Warrior's snarling demonic tone (listen for a few Warrior style grunts along the way as well). Harmonizing leads pave the way through big crunchy riffs on Through the Archdemon's Head, making the LP a must hear for fans of catchy doom metal in the most traditional-sense. Listen to the LP, streaming in in its entirety, for the first time below. Order your copy at Dark Descent.

Anguish also their recent split with Black Oath available directly through the band. Order your copy for 6 Euros + shipping by emailing the band at anguishdoom (at) hotmail (dot) com.

I believe it should be hyphenated, as in "...Warrior-style grunts..." Can anyone confirm?

Thanks!

What a bunch of queers; concentrating on the pic of these dudes rather than the great album that's streaming.

Ain't no party like a larping party because a larping party doesn't have any women there.

Who cares about a damn photo? Not the best photo ever, but still better than a damn brittish h.i.v. Metal photo. Great album, and that'

s the important part.

405: Because it's funny. I'm a big fan of this type of music, but this picture is a fucking riot! If they put out a spooky press photo, that would be called 'spooky.' They put out a hilarious press photo. That is called 'funny.' Make sense now?

4:05 - maybe it's that the guy on the right looks like Ric Flair after every wrestling match from 1982-1990?

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2012 4:27 PM

These guys aren't Brits, they're Swedes.

Another quality post from the sausage selector BBG. Everyone involved ought to be put down.

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2012 7:09 PM

just a total fail for everyone involved. lame even for metal.

Anything cool is always seen as funny to the mass herd. Same with the corpse paint in Black Metal. Theres probably some idea behind this photo which is better than no idea at all. This band with a classic doom sound will probably be around for a while.

1:11 : i think you're missing the point. Look at 7:37 and 4:24 and the first post. it looks like metalheads also think this is funny. It's a dumb picture. Get over it.

If you hipster fucks don't like it, then go away. This band makes great music.

Clearly all of you are deluded. This picture speaks to me in ways years of psychotherapy and passing kidney stones could not.

All hail Anguish!
