Wanna see the GZA. Don't want to give a single dime to Bad Brains, seeing as they put on terrible shows and are pretty damn homophobic.

8:10: shut up you retard. Even one solid bb song is 99.99% better then any of the shit you read about on this blog.

8:26 if you dislike this blog then why are you here? Get your info somewhere else, this blog needs less people like you. If you don't like BV then you don't belong here, begone.

TOUR OF INSIGNIFICANCE.

If you didn't mean to insult this blog then I'd apologize, if you weren't slandering people with insults simply for stating an opinion. Oh man, I'd just love to meet someone like you in real live just to see what you have to say face to face.

Lame and boring.

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2012 9:03 PM

8:46 needs to go back to writing his thoughts in his journal. What a clown!

bad brains can suck it

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2012 9:18 PM

i saw the corpse of hr fronting the bad brains a couple years ago. awful show. i'll pass on this.

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2012 9:47 PM

HR came out to "play" with Fishbone at BK Bowl the last time they were in town and it was laughable. He was so fucked up and just stood there, pretending to play his guitar and making weird ass faces the entire time. Can he even sing anymore? I doubt he remembers the lyrics half the time, if so. He was a complete mess.

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2012 9:51 PM

I hope he wears his motorcycle helmet.

GZA IS SO BAD LIVE,
AT CMJ HE CAME ON AT 4:15 SO DRUNK HE COULD BARELY STAND

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2012 10:08 PM

Hi we're bad brains we play 6$ shows.
Hi we're bad brains, it's 2012 so we have to charge almost 6 times that.

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2012 10:21 PM

Aint nothing wrong with being drunk and doing a show. Are you guys all nerdy jazz people here or some wilding out rocker types that like to stick your dicks in mashed potatoes?

Posted by The Music Sniffer! | February 13, 2012 10:21 PM

bad brains in 2012...good luck with that.

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2012 10:41 PM

"Hi we're bad brains we play 6$ shows.
Hi we're bad brains, it's 2012 so we have to charge almost 6 times that."

Think about what you just wrote, then factor in inflation and the fact that those "$6" shows were around 30 years ago. Now realize that you're a dumb fucking loser with the logic of an imbecile. Got it? Good. Fuck off moron!

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2012 10:47 PM

"bad brains can suck it"

What, your 3 inch baby dick? No thanks.

1047 S0 TUFF

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2012 10:54 PM

i remember the vice halloween party with bb, sa and ta.

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2012 10:56 PM

Fucking awesome...Bad brains still deliver great shows

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2012 10:59 PM

Surprised this isn't at Terminal 5. Bad Brains have a lot of affluent 40 year old fans. Nostalgia sells these days --- Pink Floyd, Madonna, Pulp, GnR, Stone Roses etc.

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2012 11:02 PM

^ What about Boards of CANADA. Jesus fucking CHRIST!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | February 13, 2012 11:18 PM

1056...this was the one in the williamsburg warehouse? yeah...that was one of the worst shows ever.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2012 12:52 AM

The reason some people are still willing to put up with him is because the rest of the band still sounds fantastic.

However, I've suffered through enough HR debacles at this point to go through it again. It's a shame.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2012 7:32 AM

id rather see h2o and gza w/out bb

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2012 7:48 AM

7:32 nailed it. rest of the band kicks ass. HR.....not so much these days. i think he smoked a little too much "whitney houston" if you know what im saying. worth seeing if youve never seen em but dont expect 1982 live @ cbgb bad brains.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2012 8:27 AM

Yeah, I'll stick to my "Live @ CBGB 1982" dvd and pass on these shows. Band still sounds great, but HR just doesn't have it anymore. Sad.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2012 8:29 AM

do the crowds still wild out at their shows, or is it an aarp audience now?

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2012 8:57 AM

Who are the Bad Brains?

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2012 9:13 AM

11:02, yeah but the types of 40 year olds that like Bad Brains still wouldn't pay big money to see them; not because they don't have the money, but on principle.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2012 9:17 AM

no, not on principle. just because HR has lost it. it's painful and aggravating to watch. yes, the band still has it. but what good does it do when the vocalist turns this into a 'captain kangaroo' hc karaoke night?! good for them, that they can still milk it. but anyone going to this, expecting a decent performance, is a bloody fool. unless of course one is into train wreck comedy. in that case, you'll get your money's worth.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2012 9:23 AM

i've never seen them (for whatever reason) and i'm a massive fan, so i feel obligated.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2012 9:51 AM

7:48 FTW

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2012 9:59 AM

i honestly feel that viewing the '82 dvd on a proper system with a large screen tv would be more satisfying than going to see them in person at this point

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2012 10:22 AM

totally agree with 9:51

It may be disappointing but I would rather judge for myself.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2012 10:34 AM

love them but now it's the Sad Brains. still might go.

Posted by teddylishus | February 14, 2012 11:54 AM

9:23, but even if HR didn't lose it, the types of who would see Bad Brains who are over 40, still wouldn't pay big money to see them, because they just wouldn't pay that kind of money to see a hardcore band that used to charge 6 bucks, because it's insulting.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2012 12:01 PM

It's 2012. You should have your opinion on this band sorted out by now.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2012 12:25 PM

this is so punk. how much are tickets?

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2012 12:28 PM

Not that any of your opinions matter on this because these shows will both be packed.Young and Old.
Think about this though. We can all agree HR is fucking out of his mind crazy. Hopefully most of you know, as stated above, the rest of the band still kicks major fucking ass. What happens if crazy HR snaps out of it for a second and goes buck wild on stage like the old days. Likely? Of course not. Could it happen? Easily.
Then you are gonna feel fucking stupid for missing it.

So goes the trials and tribulations of a Bad Brains fan in these Coptic Times.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2012 1:07 PM

dont get your hopes up dude, hes gonna sound like a timid karoake singer and thats that. dr. know still rules tho

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2012 4:35 PM

fuck Bad Brains. 2012 corporate hardcore punk!

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2012 4:47 PM

rock for light, rock for light, rock for light

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2012 10:16 PM

The "before" of 8:32's link and the sad "after" of 8:53's link is all you really need to know about the state of the Brains today. I was at that Vice Halloween show too and couldn't believe HR would choose to smear his legacy like that. But I think that's just it...in his ja mind, things like legacy are meaningless. On the flipside, getting paid for doing these half-assed shows clearly is not.

Posted by Anonymous | February 15, 2012 9:20 AM

He's gotta feed the monkey, man. Just hangin brains, that's all.

Posted by Anonymous | February 15, 2012 9:32 AM

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was thinking. And I was at that Fishbone show too. Probably could be mistaken for a homeless man in the LES.

Posted by Anonymous | February 15, 2012 9:44 AM

no doubt, wouldn't be surprised to see hr on a train in bum clothes, all stank, mumbling to himself and shit. total possibility.

Posted by Anonymous | February 15, 2012 9:56 AM

There was an interview conducted last year in which HR sat and talked to/with/at a guy...you know the one: HR orders a smoothie, "addresses" homophobia, talks about "O-bamma". It was an incredibly bizarre conversation/interview. Tho an obvious tool, the guy interviewing was clearly uncomfortable.

It's clear that the man HR was in the 80's and...oh, about 1990 gone. It would be great if the group broke up in 1990 and was just now coming back.

Perhaps in this fantasy HR has been in Jamaica...playing reggae, has had a family and still very much the lion he was back when. Perhaps he looks like he has not aged a bit save a little grey in his impressive locks and beard. He's youthful and viril. Still pumped up, in great shape and benifiting from a vegetarian diet...happier...ready to Roir, and take on the establishment and the world by storm. Talking 'bout all those things he sung about back in the day.

I guess we'll never hear that. Kinda sux but damn I still love this band. They are not perfect...we all have our faults and things we regret and should have said...or not said ETC..

Won't be going to anymore shows tho... Glad the band is experienceing some success and wish them well.
