Dum Dum Girls @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
Dum Dum Girls

After playing a secret show at Cake Shop one night earlier Widowspeak, The Babies, and Punks on Mars played a much larger and public show at Music Hall of Williamsburg on Tuesday (2/7), but this time Dum Dum Girls were dressed all in white!! Proof is in this post.

Dum Dum Girls (usually all in black) and Windowspeak with continue their joint tour with another area show at Maxwell's this Saturday (2/11). Tickets are still available.

Widowspeak have also announced a Glasslands show with Mac DeMarco who is signed to Captured Tracks whose SXSW showcase Widowspeak is also playing.

More pictures from MHOW, including a shot of the headliner's setlist, below...

Outfit rock!

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2012 5:25 PM

Is that a new bass player?

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2012 5:27 PM

They wore white???!!!!!

That's sooooo crazy!

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2012 5:29 PM

The drummer looks like a real Dum Dum.

malia

They are getting better as a live act, but would it kill them to play at least an hour. 45 minute sets don't cut it when you're headlining 500 seat venues.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2012 5:40 PM

The title of this post says everything you need to know about this shitty band.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2012 5:41 PM

i don't get it.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2012 5:47 PM

5:40, you're right, they're getting better and better, but the set was really short. They have enough material/variety to pull of an hour or so at this point.

The sound was a little screwy at this show, too. All I could hear was lead guitar for the first half of the set.

Quibbles aside, good show.

now how is these bimbos wearing white a story? I wonder which staffer got paid to run this one.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2012 6:27 PM

6:27, BV would've covered the Dum Dum Girls at MHOW no matter what. Them debuting new clothing, as silly as it seems, just gave BV an angle.

No biggie, I dig the DDGs. They look good in black or white, and they're one of the few bands getting coverage these days that actually play rock'n'roll.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2012 6:49 PM

Okay, BV is now the official "Onion" type music blog. We are all Dumb Dumb for reading this stuff. In ten years, you are going to look back and wonder why you ever thought you were cool.

This headline was composed by a 12 year-old girl.

The last three comments are near incomprehensible.

The Dum Dum Girls are rad.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2012 9:38 PM

Drummers more like a Dim Sum than a Dum Dum.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2012 11:40 PM

It feels really good, really want to see.

Silly gimmicks aside, good band. Good tunes.

Maude, I miss you.

^ That's very revealing.

Interesting to find out new DDG bassist Malia previously did interviews. Not that it's particularly insightful or anything - but - it's Youtube so, yah know (BV) - MEH

OK - back to the bashing (which I'll be the first to admit, is almost as entertaining as the bands themselves).

Posted by DaveCromwell | February 10, 2012 11:19 AM

They wear white, but I know they got some nice pink all up in there

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2012 11:21 AM

I really like the whole Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! / Beyond the Valley of the Dolls vibe the Dum Dum Girls have going. Total badass, and I wonder if Poison Ivy is hip to them. She'd love it.

I dig their songs too, although I think their EPs and singles are better than their LPs, but hey, they're a singles band.

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2012 12:24 PM

it's like when dylan went electric

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2012 12:48 PM

they should play with Gwar

Malia is pretty hot. Seen the interview she does with Marni Stern I think it is?

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2012 7:30 PM

^I think the new bass player, Malia, toured with Marnie Stern at some point as well.

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2012 7:50 PM

She was def. w/ the Black Ryder this tour last summer.

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2012 8:35 PM

The drummer is hot

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2012 9:58 PM

Posted by EzineArticles | February 18, 2012 7:32 AM

Anyone who likes this band is a sellout, sheep, trendy piece of shit. Get your own brains folks.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 6:06 AM

Calm down, 6:06. I think people like this band because they have good tunes and put out some good singles.

And I don't think putting out singles on several small labels and LPs on SubPop makes anyone a sellout.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:39 PM

Meanwhile, 6:06 is listening to his new Bieber album.

Damn! Did I miss a meeting or something? Was there an official vote? When did hot girls w/ guitars playing 1950/60's rock become a bad thing?

Posted by too many haters w/ no hobbies | March 4, 2012 1:24 PM

124, you didn't miss a vote. 1120, who I suspect has posted most of this hate, doesn't get rock'n'roll, probably hates women in music, and thinks of musical technical ability as sport.

Dum Dum Girls are fun, have good songs, and play rock'n'roll. If they want to look good doing it, great.

Posted by Anonymous | March 6, 2012 7:15 AM

Where the fuck is the OG bassist?!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | March 19, 2012 10:06 AM

Looking at that second to last b&w photo, where the front row is lined with photographers, I ask everyone this... Who remembers going to shows when it was only the die hard fans in the front row? More and more I see fans camped out in front only to get butted in front of by entitled photag's as soon as the music starts. I realize a website like is makes its livelihood on good pics, but there was a time when photag's got relegated to side stage with the other potatoes. Just sayin'.
