Fiona Apple

Tickets for both BV-presented Fiona Apple shows happening in NYC, and other March shows, go on PRE-SALE today (2/23) at 10am.

UPDATE: Those sold out quick. Who got tickets? If you didn't, general sale begins Friday.

UPDATE 2: I know a lot of people are calling that presale bullshit (I tried and also couldn't pull up any, so I know how it seemed like there were no tickets),, but remember that Fiona Apple hasn't played NYC in a long time, and Bowery and Music Hall only hold around 600 people each and are way smaller venues than she can play and these shows were well publicized. Let's assume that at least 100 tickets per show are being held by Fiona and her label for friends, press, etc (some of which will probably end up being put on sale closer to the show), I can't confirm exact numbers (or any of these numbers), but it seems reasonable to believe. That's 500 tickets per show to sell, which is actually only 250 sales if everyone buys two. And even less were put on presale, so if the presale got 200 tickets per show, that's 100 sales of two tickets each. Now you have thousands of people trying to buy 200 tickets (per show) all at the same time... it sucks (every time).

UPDATE 3: Scalpers are dicks as usual.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:10 AM

Will the "general sale" also not have any tickets?

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:11 AM

What is she doing 3/24 and 3/25. Couldn't help but notice the gap. What are the odds she adds more shows? Or are those days reserved for haute couture strait jacket fittings?

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:11 AM

Can someone redirect me to the site where we can complain about how scalpers use bots to buy all the tickets?

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:11 AM

Anyone have the presale code for Squeeze/English Beat-- April show at Roseland Ballroom -- presale is today...

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:16 AM

BV: Since you are presenting this event, can you let us know how many tix were sold in the presale for bowery and mhow? Thanks.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:17 AM

you people are acting like you were trying to get tickets to some nobody act at MSG. this is what happens when someone plays an intimate show with incredibly high demand.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:17 AM

SERIOUSLY, there are over 60 tix already posted to STUBHUB, it's 10:18. FUCKING SCAM ARTISTS>>>>

Posted by jayvee | February 23, 2012 10:18 AM

MEH

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:18 AM

the issue is not the size of the venue, the issue if how it's possible that 70+ scalpers have them all listed already online and only two or three fans, at least on this board, got them

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:18 AM

should have been will-call only!

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:19 AM

10:18, is that a rhetorical question, or are you actually asking how that happens?

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:19 AM

why wasn't this a will call only show where your id has to match the name on the tickets?

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:20 AM

I heard Fiona Apple was LINSANE at giving hummers.

She uses a LINTERESTING technique involving her tongue.

Bought 2 for $99 on stubhub

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:21 AM

Yeah, secondary prices this show are not that bad.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:23 AM

IM A TICKETBROKER AND COULDNT EVEN PULL TICKETS FOR ANY OF THESE SHOWS AND IVE PULLED RADIOHEAD IN ROSELAND BRUCE IN ASBURY PARK THE STONES IN BEACON AND CANT PULL FIONA IN 3 VENUES HILARIOUS!!! THEY DIDNT RELEASE ONE TICKET GOOD LUCK TOMORROW

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:24 AM

i heard she performs cunniLINgus quite deftly

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:24 AM

They did release tickets, I got some for a few shows. You people realize these venues are like 500 people and its Fionna Apple right? When you have thousands going for a few tickets MOST people will get shut out. Your not getting cheated, your just slow.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:25 AM

10:23, it's less than 30 minutes after the show went on sale. Secondary prices will go up for this.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:25 AM

10:25, it's you're not your.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:26 AM

why would you buy tickets on stubhub before trying again during the general sale?

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:26 AM

Anyone who cares to see Fiona Apple in 2012 should be thankful they didn't have to spend $40+ for some nonsense. Save that money for Neil Young & the Crazy Horse, Radiohead, and good tours coming along our way:)

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:26 AM

stop bitching and get back to work
try your luck tomorrow, and if you don't get any stand in line the day of the show

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:27 AM

Why would you buy tickets above face value before they're even released to the general public? If there aren't any left on Friday, fine - I can see it. But idiots who are willing to reward the jackhole brokers for using bots and screwing the average customer are part of the problem.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:28 AM

10:25#1, I think you're missing the point. I agree that there's a small supply of tickets and a large demand of people who want them. It just seems *odd* that already 50 people have tickets posted on Stubhub literally 5 minutes after it went on sale, when very few people here got them.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:30 AM

totally agree with 10:28

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:31 AM

a bunch of those tickets on stubhub were already listed yesterday

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:36 AM

Screw you and your no ticket presale! I'm going to have a Veal dinner tonight just for spite! With a side of Bacon too...

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:37 AM

Say what you will. But it's a disgrace when Stub Hub already has about 70 tickets starting at $90 an going to $335.

Posted by J | February 23, 2012 10:38 AM

i totally agree with 10:28 considering i said the same exact thing at 10:26

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:42 AM

"you people"

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:42 AM

only 8 of the tickets for williamsburg are Instant Download, i dont think scalpers got many tickets to this one

Posted by sdf | February 23, 2012 10:43 AM

10:38, this is the way of the ticketing business now. Scalping has been renamed "secondary market" to make the practice more acceptable to the general public, and most artists and their management scalp their own tickets these days. I'm not necessarily accusing Fiona of doing this, but it's common enough in the industry, that I wouldn't be surprised.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:43 AM

BV, TM didn't load up the site until AFTER 10AM. Please stop trying to justify this. There's TONS OF tickets on Stubhub. Those people could not have purchased tickets from TM this morning.

I really am having trouble believing you guys. I'm a NYer I understand how many of us there were. It's technologically impossible.

Posted by sarah | February 23, 2012 10:43 AM

disgusting. they have no shame.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:46 AM

To those saying dont buy on Stub hub before general sale...stubhub had tix for below 80 bucks 20 minutes ago. for a few xtra dollars, saves a lot of time and effort

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:46 AM

to continue from 10:43, and if it's not the artist's camp reselling their own tickets, it's someone else on the inside (venue, promoter, agent, etc). This is nothing new. It's just more blatant now that they can blame it on bots.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:46 AM

Serenity now, LINSANITY LATER!

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:48 AM

What I need is a good defense,
'Cause I'm feelin' like a criminal
For buying all the hummus at Mamouns

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:49 AM

I don't think BV is directly responsible, but the way ticket demand/offer in NYC works truly sucks
Hopefully tomorrow some more real fans and not some stuck up bitch who doesn't even know who Fiona is, will get them
Next time book her in a bigger venue

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:49 AM

10:49, I doubt BV has anything to do with it at all; he just has the brand attached to the show for cross-promotional purposes.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:50 AM

I think I will have a hamburger.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:52 AM

10:49, this is marketing strategy. New album isn't even out yet, so she does a mini-tour of large cities, doing an "underplay" in each market to create hype (people want what they can't have.. in this case, a Fiona Apple ticket). When the album comes out, she plays larger venues.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:53 AM

I got 2 in the presale after trying a bunch of times. I only need one.I will not scalp this ticket though. I will offer it on here tomorrow to a pretty girl who has no problem giving up the pussy/ass/blowie etc for it.
Call me what you will but you know all those girl Fiona Apple fans are freaks in and out of bed. Hey, at least i am not scalping the shit out of the ticket.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:54 AM

Somehow it would seem less slimy if 10:54 actually scalped the ticket.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:55 AM

Radiohead Roseland presale was better

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:57 AM

L-I-N BABY! ALL HE DOES IS LIN!

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 10:59 AM

Sucks they went so fast, but thanks for sharing the passwords!

Posted by PaperBag | February 23, 2012 11:05 AM

I think I may buy from Stubhub after the insanity of this pre-sale. These tickets are legit, right?

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 11:11 AM

You mean after the LINsanity of the presale, don't you?

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 11:13 AM

Pretty much.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 11:17 AM

honestly forgot abt fiona apple until yesterday.

does she really have this big of a fan base?

I get her songs and Alanis morisette's all mixed up

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 11:17 AM

How can one seller on Stubhub be offering 16 tickets?

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 11:25 AM

Yes! That's what I'm afraid of. How do we know if these are legit tickets? Any used Stubhub before?

- C

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 11:27 AM

It looks like her arm is missing in that picture.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 11:29 AM

11:27, Stubhub guarantees the ticket purchase. If the ticket ends up being fake, they'll get you another ticket. If they cannot get you another ticket, they'll issue a full refund.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 11:36 AM

10:46, and they also charge a fee on top, and an additional delivery fee. The 80 dollar ticket ends up being like 100. I'd rather pay 45 each for trying for a few minutes via TM.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 11:42 AM

dude her left arm IS missing, you insensitive...

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 11:49 AM

Everyone would rather pay $45 instead of $100, its just the odds of getting tickets in the general sale are pretty slim.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 11:50 AM

1142 until you don't get tickets and are forced to buy on stubhub, where prices at that point will be well over $100

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 11:51 AM

Jonathan Ames told me Fiona Apple is a selfish lover.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 11:56 AM

I can't believe this is sold out already!

Posted by Smile Quotes | February 23, 2012 11:59 AM

I'm sure she'll be back when the album comes out, and she'll play T5 or Radio City or something.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 12:09 PM

Anyone find any tickets for Lincoln Hall, Chicago?

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 12:10 PM

Ay dios mio!

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 12:12 PM

Wow a lot of the people who comment on here are really annoying. It's pathetic that you're probably all grown (but clearly not mature) adults.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 12:18 PM

Im a ticketbroker and the prices of this event will go threw the roof. You can still get some on stubhub for around 120. Lets see 500 capacity....5,000 demand=better buy now before prices go above 200. As my father always says something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it!!!

Posted by joe | February 23, 2012 12:20 PM

And yes stubhub is as safe as it gets!

Posted by Joe | February 23, 2012 12:23 PM

@ joe, you're a jerk off! within the next couple of years it will be very likely that most venues will be doing will call tickets only. so to all these "ticketbrokers" i suggest you get a new day job!

good luck to everyone tomorrow!

Posted by liserv | February 23, 2012 12:29 PM

She's an odd looking broad.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 12:31 PM

God, I hate her.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 12:37 PM

In case you were wondering, I'd fuck her. Not sure if I could keep it up. Looks a little bony.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 12:41 PM

this should have been at msg

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 1:05 PM

The AC is having a pre-sale right now...however i've been trying since 10am to get tix and have not been successful

Posted by claudia | February 23, 2012 1:07 PM

Joe - the word is "through" not "threw". But I suppose grammar isn't important for the successful reselling of tickets.
12:41 - Yes, I was wondering about that. Thanks.
1:05 - She can't fill MSG.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 2:04 PM

If I where u guys I would not get any on studhub. If they have all these tickets on there already and most people could not get one right at 10am then its not worth it. Say by chance she cancels the show then you are stuck with a ticket that you paid more then double for and no refund.

Posted by Matt | February 23, 2012 2:13 PM

^ When is that EVER not the case when you pay more than face value? Duh

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 2:34 PM

4x face, all day every day

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 3:23 PM

fuck this. it's all about LINSANITY here in NYC!

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 3:32 PM

I got 2 tickets, went in at 9.59
but got an error at the end
I still got the TM email though, just waiting for the CC charge to clear I guess
I should've gotten paperless ticket

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 3:46 PM

How about ticket pick up in person. Makes the most sense.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 3:49 PM

just do will-call only, 2 ticket limit per person. seems common sense for shows like this.

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 4:22 PM

If everyone knows scalpers are dicks, should have went with the in-person option

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 7:20 PM
