Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:02 PM

Posted by leighann | February 24, 2012 12:03 PM

@12:03 Yes

Also, where can I hire Indians to do this for me like the big boys?

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:04 PM

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:05 PM

By 12:01 both shows were sold out. Hmm...

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:06 PM

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:06 PM

yeah, refreshed until tickets were open, then hit both venues at the same time. Nothin. I'm sure they'll all be up on Stubhub shortly.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:07 PM

I don't know what you people thought would happen...

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:07 PM

fuuuuuuuuuuck

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:07 PM

There has to be at least someone who pulled a ticket, no?

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:07 PM

damn i was a quick ass trigger finger too :(

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:07 PM

anyone try to buy them in person at merc lounge or mhow? just curious how many were sold there... it's supposedly the same system... so, what, one pair maybe?

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:08 PM

wtff

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:08 PM

BV, shame on you and shame on TM. Again, TM loaded after 12PM, and tickets are already gone. Sad day for Fiona Fans.

Posted by Sarah | February 24, 2012 12:08 PM

anyone score a pair?

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:09 PM

nothing.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:09 PM

Shame on Brooklynvegan for all of this unneeded drama.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:10 PM

THIS IS BULLSHIT..... Sold out at 12:02.... FUCK YOU SCALPERS. I HATE YOU!

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:10 PM

12:08,

How is it shame on BV and TM? Don't you mean shame on the artist/promoter for just scalping the tickets directly?

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:10 PM

I managed to get floor seats to LCD at MSG, Kraftwerk tickets, Paul Simon at Webster, front row for Van Halen, and countless other "impossible" shows and this by far has been the most annoying and hard to get show I've ever tried to get tickets for. I guarantee she'll either add more shows or release more tickets.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:11 PM

I don't think "ticketmaster was loaded"--the site was fast as hell for me on both comps I was trying. Love to know if anyone actually got tickets.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:11 PM

She going to be at Governors Ball Music Festival in NYC on June 24!!! Wait and see her then silly!!

Posted by Sara N | February 24, 2012 12:11 PM

Nothing

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:11 PM

I got tickets!!!! Just kidding, I actually didn't get any tickets.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:12 PM

12:11 yup compare Randalls Island to a Bowery show...

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:12 PM

this bullshit will forever be known as "Applegate"

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:12 PM

@12:10 This show was sold out by 12:00:44 when I got through

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:13 PM

sold out at 12:00:05 WTF?

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:13 PM

went on the presale and got two tix no problem, im actually going to the show and not scalping them although you people make me want to

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:13 PM

Where are the scalpers saying they bought and sold tickets for 250$ each?

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:13 PM

I'll wait and see her at Gov Ball

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:13 PM

@12:11 you "managed to get tickets" by just going to ticketmaster.com when they were on sale? That's not a secret or a skill, that's what we're all doing. Getting tickets to some shows isn't "hard"

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:14 PM

12:04, that's a good question. I'd like to know that myself. Hmm, outsourcing my ticket grabs to an Indian call center..

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:14 PM

is it fionagate or applegate

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:14 PM

ticketmaster and brooklyn vegan can suck a nut for this nonsense.

Posted by tyler | February 24, 2012 12:14 PM

this is bullshit. i always thought this website sucked. now i'm convinced.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:15 PM

Direct to Scalpers or DTS for short.
I'm assuming BP, BV and TM got their cuts too.
At some point you suckers will realize that its just not worth it to see Fiona Fucking Apple (see the date on that mag cover?), and just refuse to go along with this sham.
Pay a $10 cover and see a band you've never seen before in a club that isn't part of the nyc club scam scene.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:15 PM

117 tickets in stubhub already :(

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:15 PM

there at 12 on the dot and they were all gone. argggghhhh

Posted by ozz | February 24, 2012 12:16 PM

I'm still waiting in the queue for kraftwerk tickets.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:17 PM

hey gang, there's a surefire way to avoid any and all frustration with any concert. wanna know the secret? don't even bother trying. it's not worth it. no show is worth it, if you really think about it. and if it is, then just pay the extra money and be on your way.

Posted by frustrated with haters | February 24, 2012 12:19 PM

Here's a serious question.. for those people on Stubhub who are putting up listings on speculation (meaning that they don't currently HAVE the tickets yet)... where are they actually going to get the tickets from?

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:19 PM

I've NEVER experienced anything like this... what the hell do you have to do to get tickets to a show these days!??! I've been to so many in demand concerts but this one seems SOOOOO FISHY..... how can so many people log on right on time and get NOTHING....

Posted by Brooklyn Mike | February 24, 2012 12:20 PM

you know how many times I've just felt completely assfucked at a minute after trying to get concerts? it's happened so many times over the past few years. the system isn't fair, ticketmaster and promoters are so corrupt, and it's never going to change. in my opinion they should eliminate online ticketing, and make it first come first serve IN PERSON AT THE BOX OFFICE, two ticket maximum, CASH ONLY. start ticket sales later in the evening, so more people can make the sale.

Posted by frustrated with haters | February 24, 2012 12:22 PM

They are up on Stub Hub starting at $175. OUTRAGED!

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:23 PM

WOW... $175 on stub hub already.. this is insanity...
Shame on eve
ryone associated with this concert... Whatever at this point it'll be filled with rich bourgeois assholes anyway, no true fans....

Posted by Brooklyn Mike | February 24, 2012 12:23 PM

no dice here. curious to know what the "direct-to-reseller" numbers were.....

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:23 PM

What do you think the possibility is that the people who are posting on Stubhub who don't actually HAVE the tickets yet, have the ability to do a ticket buy directly from Bowery Presents for an extra fee?

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:24 PM

Man this is "criminal" Tm can't couldn't sell there way out of a "paper bag" if they tried. I am so pissed I don't want to ever use tm again! "Never, is a promise"! I feel like a "Shadowboxwer" typing those stupid catcha phrases! I typed them "Fast as you can" and nothing. The server was "slow like Honey".

Now, that I didn't get tickets, my wife is going to be a "sullen girl"! Well I hope to "Carrion" and get tickets some other way! "I know" "The Way Things Are" I will be "On the Bound"! It was a "Misteak" this "Love Ridden" fool made.

I wonder if this sale would have went better if I didn't have "window"s on my computer. "Oh Well", "Please please please" I hope I get tickets soon. Getting tickets for the wife just is "not about love" but proving I am a "Better version of me"!

Posted by When the Pawn Hits the Conflicts He Thinks Like a King | February 24, 2012 12:24 PM

12:19-Mr Hater.
someone got tickets its always worth a try.

so its seems that people got in to at least try and buy tickets at 12?
it wouldn't let me buy tickets until 12:02. This seems fishy to me.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:24 PM

They buy them off stubhub at the lowest price, then re-list them at a much higher price.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:24 PM

and this is reason why we shoudve bought tickets yesterday on stubhub for $80

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:25 PM

ha ha lulz 12:17

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:25 PM

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:27 PM

Seconded. Anonymous to thread.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:28 PM

gotta love that you can buy 12 tickets from ONE reseller on stubhub. that lucky guy must have been able to get through ticketmaster three times and bought the 4-ticket max each time.....

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:29 PM

I am a broker and I got nothing. Well I'm a mom-and-pop broker so I don't get any inside handoffs from ticketmaster :(

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:31 PM

12:29, either he's got a call center of outsourced lackeys trying for tickets, or he's able to do a ticket buy directly from the promoter for an extra fee.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:31 PM

There needs to be a shorter time period between gig announcement and ticket sales. Brokers need time to plan and organize.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:33 PM

that dude with 12 doesnt have tickets right now. hes totally going to wait until prices go down then buy some and satisfy his orders.

actually seems quite smart.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:34 PM

SQUIRREL NUT ZIPPERS!

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:35 PM

Best bet was going to Mercury Lounge, I got a pair.

Posted by Citybug | February 24, 2012 12:39 PM

For those of you who missed out on Fiona or Kraftwerk tickets... I would think that anytime an artist/manager/booking agent sees such high demand, it won't be long before they come back around to take advantage of it while they can. You think anyone wants to leave your money in your pocket?!

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:43 PM

I posted yesterday in the comments. I got 2 tix in the presale for Music Hall. I only need 1. Not scalping the other one. I am ready to offer it to any hot pretty girl who is willing to give up the ass/pussy/blowies etc. Cmon you desperate female Fiona freaks. You know you want to see this show. Forget Gov Ball with 40000 losers. You cannot miss her up close and personal like this.

If interested send pics and a little about yourself to FionaAppleFuck@yahoo.com

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:44 PM

Fiona Apple is harder to get tix to than Lady Gaga - this can't be right.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:44 PM

BrooklynVegan, Ticketmaster, before you come up with the bullshit about bots ate up all the tickets, can you tell us how many tickets were released in the presale, public sale? How many were given to brokers directly under the table? We need to audit your ticket practices

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:45 PM

Also shunned from ticketmaster, but had an idea: Is there any way we could contact a bar in the Williamsburg area and ask that they play her cds all night? that way we can get drunk and still listen to her music with fellow fans! :D

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:47 PM

2 500 capacity venues, city of ~10 million people, no shit it sold out instantly

and hell it was way underpriced at 40 some bucks a pop.

175 on stubhub may be a bit much, but this seems like a 100 dollar show

in conclusion, stop bitching so much.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:48 PM

Fucking wack. The system is wack. Ticketmaster Stubhub etc EAT A DICK UP.

Posted by Dustin | February 24, 2012 12:52 PM

waited around for an hour at mercury lounge and got 3 tickets no problem. can't wait!!

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:52 PM

Just remember to wipe back to front everybody.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:55 PM

How many people were waiting at Mercury?

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:55 PM

^also how many on that line got tickets?

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:55 PM

How many people were out there at Mercury? This sold out so fast what did they do at Merc? The old school way of counting out the number of people on line and printing out that amount before sales started?

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 12:58 PM

the line at merc stretched down the block but it wasn't too many people. i think they were counting people on line beforehand though

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 1:01 PM

@12:48...while I do understand what you are trying to say, there is obviously something more going on here. NOBODY could get tickets through the TicketBastard website. This has been a growing issue for the past couple of years now & it's time that some answers were given. There are some serioulsy shady practices going on that need to be investigated & stopped.

Posted by bryontreece | February 24, 2012 1:05 PM

why was this not at msg?

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 1:07 PM

Still taking offers ladies at FionaAppleFuck@yahoo.com

So far the responses have been some ugly bitches.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 1:09 PM

why is everyone so confident shes gonna be at gov ball? she aint on the lineup

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 1:12 PM

Thanks for paying off my mortgage hipster. 4x face.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 1:12 PM

damn I didn't realize they still sell tickets at Merc on day of sale. Thats the answer. Between the VIP, presale, guest list and people on line at merc. there were barely anything left online. no wonder.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 1:13 PM

@105pm - - - i know 3 people that got tickets. 12 total. so that's more abt 1% of the total tickets out there, bought by 3 guys. not a conspiracy, just a lot of demand out there and not many seats.

And one of the guys just sold them (instead of giving me one!!!) on stubhub bc making 300-400 bucks is too much money to give up.

really cant blame him. there will probably be more shows announced soon so why not cash in?

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 1:16 PM

^hmm 3 people huh..so lets assume the 3rd person was buying tickets at 1202..still something is fishy about that as it sold out in 5 seconds.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 1:21 PM

Just came back from mercury. SOLD OUT!

Posted by Dee | February 24, 2012 1:28 PM

^thanks captain obvious!

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 1:29 PM

12:34, but ticket prices don't always go down. That seems like a big risk, especially given that it's likely that she's not going to add shows this time around. Given that prices are driven by supply and demand, I doubt prices will go down in this case.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 1:47 PM

Maybe if enough people complain to the Attorney General, he will investigate.

Posted by anonymous | February 24, 2012 1:51 PM

1:07, because she cannot fill MSG. The demand just isn't there. The most she could probably do is 2 nights at Radio City, and she probably wouldn't completely fill both.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 1:56 PM

"Also shunned from ticketmaster, but had an idea: Is there any way we could contact a bar in the Williamsburg area and ask that they play her cds all night? that way we can get drunk and still listen to her music with fellow fans! :D"

Yeah this sounds good. I wanna hang out with a bunch of losers who don't get laid.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 1:57 PM

12:48 pretty much hit the nail on the head. TM handles 1000 tix per minute. It is totally conceivable that "no one you know" was able to get tickets for this.
But still, they shouldn't have handled the ticket sale this way. Temper Trap (who isn't as popular as Fiona) did their ticket sale such that you have to pick up your tickets at the box office the night of. If Fiona's mgmt/Bowery wanted to prevent getting flak from the fans, they should have handled it the same way as Temper Trap.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 2:02 PM

WHO?

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 2:28 PM

pretty sure fiona will be at the governors balll. tickets for the sunday of the festival are cheaper than tix on stubhub. yes, seeing her at a festival is not the same, but, explosions in the sky, beck, and others will all be there too. i'll be doing that if this rumor is confirmed.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 2:34 PM

Fiona Applegate

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 2:40 PM

Should've been two nights at the Beacon. Done and done.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 2:41 PM

2:28 - Exactly my point. A band you never heard of who is much less popular than Fiona Apple, sold 0ut 2 shows at MHOW and 1 at Bowery. They sold 0ut quickly, but not like this. They required that you have to pick up the tix the night of the shows, which basically discourages scalping. If Fiona's mgmt really gave a crap about fair distribution of tix, they would have handled it this way.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 2:50 PM

@2:34 Where is that rumor coming from other than the BV comment section? Is it because the mystery performer for Sunday has five letters in both their first and last name?

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 3:11 PM

If the artist cared and/or had any input, you would sell a ticket with the tickholder's name on the ticket (actually don't even need to have a ticket--I won't get into that). Show your ID at the door and you are in. Can't resell the ticket. Without getting into the nitty gritty, if for some reason you couldn't go there would be a refund policy.

Letterman does this with free tickets. It can be done.

Posted by Scooter | February 24, 2012 3:27 PM

LOL comment of the day. This alone made me feel better:

Fucking wack. The system is wack. Ticketmaster Stubhub etc EAT A DICK UP.
Posted by Dustin | February 24, 2012 12:52 PM

Posted by sarah | February 24, 2012 4:19 PM

Scooter has a great point in regard to Letterman. It CAN be done!

Posted by bryontreece | February 24, 2012 4:24 PM

Just to let you all know, the ticket for the hot girl at FionaAppleFuck@yahoo.com is now SOLD OUT.

Amanda from East Williamsburg is the lucky girl. And i am one lucky guy if you guys could see the ass and tits on this hottie.

Thank you BrooklynVegan, Ticketmaster and Fiona Apple!

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 4:32 PM

But the problem with Scooter's point, is that it will never happen. Too many people with money/power benefit from scalping.
Also, NY State recently passed a law that bans non-transferrable paperless ticketing. The rationale behind that, is that the consumer should be allowed the right to be able to give or sell a ticket to someone else.
While technically Scooter's idea is legal because there is an actual paper ticket, venues may not be too keen on this, as it would need more resources to have to check the ID against the name on the ticket for every single entrant into the venue. For a small club this is no big deal, but for larger venues this will be too cumbersome.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 4:39 PM

I know it is another fee, but would you pay an extra $10 to pay the venue for extra cost to secure your ID or $183 plus ticket delivery fees from StubHub?

I know it is not going to happen. But it can be done-especially at the venue size we are talking.

The real life problem is the venue would have to incur the cost of distributing the tickets-website, servers, staff.

Posted by Filebunch | February 24, 2012 4:49 PM

People will pay high prices for something they really want... Shucks, once last year I dropped $10.00 on some hummus.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 5:12 PM

I'm in favor of requiring ID's to purchase and pick up concert tickets, as long as we do the same thing with regard to voting in elections.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 5:38 PM

how long into this tour will it take for fiona to go pycho-crazy and the tour will have to be canceled and refunds offered? with the refunds, the scalpers will collect what they paid and the scalpee will not be able to get their $ back.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 5:55 PM

4:32 - You'd better hope that "Amanda from East Williamsburg" doesn't give the ticket to her fat friend at the last minute.
On an unrelated tangent, I love when people say "East Williamsburg". It's fucking BUSHWICK. Gheh-toe.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2012 4:13 PM

"East Williamsburg" doesn't really exist. It's a made-up term that was invented by real estate people to fool hipsters and trust fund kids from out of town into thinking that they were going into a good neighborhood.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2012 4:18 PM

you wish you lived here and had a free ticket to Fiona Apple. 4:13, 4:18, never gonna get it.

Posted by Amanda | February 26, 2012 9:07 AM
