Day 2 might be kinda fun. Will go if I can get some dirt cheap tickets. BTS and EITS are always great.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 10:04 AM

Sure hope this mean Beck will tour

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 10:05 AM

Freelance Whales!

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 10:07 AM

Would go if it were 1/2 that price. Coachella is the same price per day for a whole lot more.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 10:08 AM

Think the Orion festival wins thus far in terms of lineup.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 10:09 AM

"Think the Orion festival wins thus far in terms of lineup."

And that is not saying much. I think you meant to say Orion right now seems the best of the worst

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 10:12 AM

Wait, who is playing... The Jezebels or The Switchblade Sisters? Or are they the same? Will Patch be with them? Will all the original members of the Dagger Debs be there?

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 10:12 AM

The only one i'm really jealous of is Beck. Seen/ don't care about the rest of them. And i'll probably be able to see James Murphy from NJ anyway.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 10:13 AM

10:04 As with all these big festivals cheap tickets will of course be available the week of the show. Day of even cheaper. That you can be sure of

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 10:14 AM

james murphy got so fat that only one more LCD member can fit onstage with him

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 10:15 AM

With a very few exceptions this is an incredibly weak lineup but hipsters will flock to the island regardless...

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 10:19 AM

OMG PASSION PIT'S FIRST NYC SHOW IN 2 YEARS?! IF THAT'S TRUE THEN I HAVE TO GO!

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 10:19 AM

"And that is not saying much. I think you meant to say Orion right now seems the best of the worst"

yeah its like choosing between a giant douche and a turd sandwich

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 10:22 AM

passion pits first nyc show in two years takes place on april 23rd at northern lights, cmaaaaan

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 10:26 AM

I will let my close friends know about the event and hope that we will be able to arrange to go there. thanks

Posted by Amanda Silver | February 21, 2012 10:39 AM

well either beck will add a solo show somewhere else (announced like two weeks before), or i'll go see him at some theater in philly or some shit

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 10:41 AM

Back when NYC had festivals, they all were much cheaper and had bigger lineups. Another reason why NYC keeps going downhill....

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 10:47 AM

I mean, there are like 15 bands playing this fest that are capable of selling out Terminal 5 for like $35/ticket. This price seems fair, i guess

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 10:48 AM

Modest Mouse above BTS lol.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 10:51 AM

Sony Bloggie camera, kickballkatystits, 7.5", Douches vs Turds, memes vs memes, LINSSSSANITTTYY!!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 10:52 AM

I love Beck, I am totally getting tickets to this!

Posted by Meaningful | February 21, 2012 11:08 AM

no thanks

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 11:12 AM

BECK!!!!! YA!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 11:16 AM

I was debating the two festivals for a second but then I realized: "Wait, why am I even debating going to see Ride The Lightning in full over fucking Passion Pit?"

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 11:17 AM

11:12 - pls explain

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 11:21 AM

will BTS play a local show before/after this? one of my favorite bands but really don't want to see them at a festival.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 11:22 AM

In my experience all fans of BTS are either fruitcakes or faggots.

Which are you, 11:22?

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 11:31 AM

I just want to see EITS

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 11:31 AM

i already bought tickets to orion
i saw this and got a little pissed but at orion I'm definitely getting more for my buck

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 11:34 AM

enjoy passion pit, 11.31.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 11:45 AM

Enjoy your dick sauce, 11:45.
(I guess you fall into group "b" tee hee hee)

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 11:52 AM

Beck always plays a smaller warm up gig before he plays around here. EG: Valentine's Day @ Maxwell's.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 11:58 AM

I like his Yardbirds stuff the best.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 12:08 PM

What is the best way to get to Randall's Island?

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 12:10 PM

"What is the best way to get to Randall's Island?"

I just wrote a detailed comment about how to get there, but it was censored by BV.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 12:25 PM

12:10 - homelessness will get you there, especially in the winter.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 12:26 PM

Is Beck like the master of ironic hipsters or something like that?

Somebody clear this up for me please.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 12:27 PM

Tahini Sauce > Dick Sauce

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 12:32 PM

Beck is actually a reptilian shape shifter sausage metal lover.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 12:34 PM

This lineup is so 5 years ago

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 12:44 PM

"Back when NYC had festivals, they all were much cheaper and had bigger lineups. Another reason why NYC keeps going downhill...."

this is due to INFLATION. welcome to the 21st century. pony up the money or stop complaining

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 12:46 PM

Governors Island has 2 major issues for us music lovers.
First of all, there isn't a single hummus kitchen on the entire island, so you should certainly eat prior to attending because there are no phyto nutrients to be found anywhere.
Secondly, you have to take the ferry there, and the global warming has caused the rivers to be extra wavy and being that you forged yourself on hummus prior to boarding, often times you will get sea sick and vomit, thereby losing the phyto nutrient energy.
It's quite a conundrum. :(

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 12:46 PM

Hahahaha, this looks awfully expensive, and just awful.

Posted by judge and jury | February 21, 2012 1:01 PM

Saturday would be fun but this is way too expensive

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 1:03 PM

11.52 is will be wearing a neon tank top and a trucker hat during the passion pit show.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 1:04 PM

BECK YANNSEN

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 1:15 PM

BTS > EITS > Modest Fart

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 1:33 PM

ITS ALWAYS YANNY IN BTS>EITS>Modest Fartadelphia

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 1:47 PM

second day of this actually looks pretty good. will wait and nab a ticket for $10 day of.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 2:55 PM

I'm almost positive BTS will add a regular show around the date. They usually do that when they have some kind of festival appearance around here.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 4:10 PM

2nd day looks better than first. Day 2: Beck, Modest Mouse, Built to Spill, and Explosions all make it well worth a $100 ticket.

Although Ride The Lightning would be great, the Orion fest is just lame. Seriously, how many father-son teams will be there? Plus going all the way to Atlantic City for that is silly. "No Thanks". Not worth the trouble at all.

I'd rather just head to Randall's for the day and get home w/ o hassle.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 4:10 PM

"I'm almost positive BTS will add a regular show around the date. They usually do that when they have some kind of festival appearance around here."

I AM TIRED OF BV CENSORING COMMENTS.

Let me try again with misspelled words:

Very unli.kely. Ban.ds are not allowed to play (or anno.unce) shows wit.hin a ce.rtain dis.tance and date from an exis.ting show in order not to com.pete against it. They can play a show the next day, but they cannot ann.ounce it, which is why many bands play sec.ret "last minute" shows.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 5:25 PM

5:25 has been hitting the dick sauce a leeeeetle too hard these days.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 6:16 PM

This isn't a very good line up, this is a 2nd tier music festival.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 6:44 PM

I think thats what they're going for - more Sasquatch vibe, than, say, Lollapalooza...

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 6:49 PM

i would like to see ride the lightning performed live, actually

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 7:49 PM

I can't see Built to Spill again after their Rocks Off boat cruise show. They can't / won't top that epic amazing fun show.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2012 7:58 PM

so fucking expensive.

Posted by Anonymous | February 22, 2012 1:32 PM

it's no wonder nyc fails to have big festivals, all you guys do is gripe, gripe, gripe when a good one is offered... the sunday lineup is a great day out...

Posted by Anonymous | February 23, 2012 11:32 AM

I liked EITS better the first time when it was called Mogwai.

Posted by nsfw | February 23, 2012 12:15 PM

why can't you assholes just accept the fact that day 2 has a pretty good lineup? i think the fact that something like this is happening in nyc is pretty cool.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2012 10:42 AM

I liked EITS better the first time when it was called Mogwai.

Posted by Dubizzle | February 27, 2012 3:41 PM
