Ceremony

As previously discussed, Ceremony headlined Le Poisson Rouge on 2/4 with a staggering lineup of support from Pissed Jeans, Rival Mob, Kim Phuc, Hoax, and Gods & Queens. Pictures and video from this show adorn this post.

Ceremony also swung by WNYU to play a live set as part of The New Afternoon Show. Stream that appearance in its entirety at WNYU.

Reminder: Hoax teams with Veins, Raw Nerve and Chain Wallet on April 8th.

Great show. Security didnt know what to do when the stage got rushed so many times.

However, fuck Matador. Let hate5six release his footage of the Ceremony set. I'm not one to bitch about bands signing to bigger labels, as long as you stay the hell out of the way when it comes to people within hardcore who do so much, like Sunny and hate5six does.

matador are notoriously terrible about footage being shot of their bands.

they always demand that they ultimately own the footage.

too bad really - it's free promotion. can't believe that they're as archaic as any major label in their thinking regarding that.

These photos kinda suck.

word has it matador had 7 cameras at the show and is waiting to put out a proper hi-quality edit of the show. i think i'd rather wait for that.

Matador definitely had cameras at the show because only about 2 people were taking photos on SLR cameras before ceremony's set then a whole crew assembled and had cameras on and off stage all over the place. If you're a ceremony fan- probably worth waiting for.

"too bad really - it's free promotion."

true, but something about high-quality video says that the band had some sort of association with the production of it. if, for any reason, the band is not happy with the footage they deserve the right to not let someone post it. then again, this is the youtube generation and everyone has a DSLR that can shoot high quality video. so it's really the videographer's responsiblity to get proper approval before posting.

Aside from Hate5six, I only saw one or two other video cameras... and one of them was a shitty old VHS pop in home movie camera. Maybe Matador is working on a shitty DVD release in "HIPSTER VISION".

Hey Rival Mob- You're not skinheads. I thought the guitarist for Ceremony was a girl for the longest time.
