Punch Brothers @ Rockwood Music Hall - 2/20/2012
Punch Brothers

Chris Thile and his Punch Brothers returned to one of their old haunts, Rockwood Music Hall last night (2/20) for a jam packed, semi-private, record-release show that we have pictures from in this post. The Punch Brothers are about to head out on a tour that is next scheduled to hit NYC at Town Hall.

Michael Daves, who isn't in the Punch Brothers, but does often perform and record with Chris Thile, returns to the LES venue for a free 10pm show tonight (2/21), part of a weekly solo residency.

Yeah, I'm with you Anonymous, it's so important to be able to see what music looks like. Good thing brooklynvegan posted these pictures so we'd all have a way to judge this music without ever having to listen to it!

Early frontrunner for album of the year, if you ask me . . .

Wouldn't it be great if they all got assaulted and we could, from then on, call them Punched Brothers?

anonymous,shut up.

was tempted to see them at Town Hall, but the Bowery Ballroom show's intimacy-to-cost ratio might've spoiled me

Well, I am pretty sure they aren't hardcore. Or rock n' roll. Or metal. or Hip Hop. Or doom. Or thrash. Or dubstep. so, yeah, actually, pics do help.

Making fun of Chris Thile is my #1 sign that our generation is filled with tools who care more about being cool and being in scenes than respecting legitimately talented people.

But yea, fuck Chris Thile, we need more Best Coasts and Lana Del Reys and Sleigh Bells and Matt & Kims. You know, all those people that definitely do things above and beyond the average musician...

mandolins and banjos are the last thing you hear before receiving a NYC ass whuppin'

And speaking of Truth ====> Michael Daves!!

these guys are excellent. certainly not for your typical BV reader, but i'm personally glad they are getting coverage here.

Anyone who doesn't recognize how supremely talented Chris Thile is, needs to STFU and die.

Would it help if you knew that they cover Kid A on their new album you Radiohead fellating tools?

@9:36 - Covering a legitimate band's song does not make you a legitimate band. This music is terrible. Go jump back on Chris Thile's dick now. Please and thanks.

@12:24 Legitimate? In all seriousness, what do you mean by that? What makes a band legitimate? I'm honestly trying to understand...
