Red Hot Chilli Peppers sold out those shows.

Yeah Uh Huh. Sure they did.

As if anyone who still wants to see this show won't be able to find a ticket a couple of days before for way less than face value.

Their touring partners pretty much sum up how I feel about Sleigh Bells in general.

Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2012 1:15 PM

Red Hot Chilli Peppers have been taking awful bands on tour with them since the 90's.

Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2012 1:16 PM

Can someone tell me what is "controversial" about Sleigh Bells?

Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2012 1:17 PM

Great...another band I thought had a future is officially dead to me. It's Muse/U2 all over again...how absolutely tragic.

Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2012 1:20 PM

Well, I got stopped by a lady cop in my au-to-mo-bile.

Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2012 1:25 PM

i totally used to care, but now i don't

Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2012 1:25 PM

her porn is controversial

Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2012 1:29 PM

making money off of a karoake act is pretty controversial

Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2012 1:31 PM

i think their performance on snl was controversial b/c their fans don't like them anymore, and the housewives in the midwest who watch snl didn't like them either. So, in this instance, they're controversial, b/c no one likes them, but their PR people are really giving a good hustle. See---- they're spending money to make people like them, and no one does. This is a controversy. right? did i get it?

Posted by trent | February 28, 2012 1:41 PM

You make a good point, Trent. However, I believe they are controversial because they look cool, but they suck really bad. Their controversy is an inner one in the abstract sense. They are walking contradictions. I win the prize.

Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2012 1:48 PM

She has porn?

Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2012 2:01 PM

i think this controversy will subside when the housewives come to the concert. who under the age of 45 cares about red hot chili peppers?

Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2012 2:04 PM

I can haz porn?

Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2012 2:48 PM

Popcorn, peanuts, lookin' at big butts

Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2012 2:51 PM

"Red Hot Chilli Peppers have been taking awful bands on tour with them since the 90's."

Makes perfect sense the Chili Peppers themselves have been awful since 1997 or so.

Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2012 2:55 PM

1:48 PM - you lose, actually. Controversy and contradiction aren't the same thing.

Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2012 3:12 PM

Read between the lines. What BV is trying to say with "controversial" is I KNOW THIS BAND SUCKS BUT I CAN'T SAY THAT OTHERWISE I'LL BURN BRIDGES.

Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2012 3:45 PM

BV needs to elaborate on "controversial." I take it many people don't think Sleigh Bells have "earned" the spot to be on SNL...just like that one blonde broad with the gross long fingernails that bombed that one song on SNL recently. Forgot her name already.

Posted by Jack | February 28, 2012 4:13 PM

they sucked on SNL

Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2012 5:29 PM

At first glance, that looks like a long grueling schedule for Red Hot Chili Peppers. But they play the exact same set every night, mouth the same banter, stay in five-star hotels, and basically don't talk to each other the whole tour except via the manager. It's gross, sad and it's the antithesis of their image. Party on Flea!

pussy farts > hummus that's been left out for a week > dog diarrhea > Gibby Haynes > atonal machine noise > Sleigh Bells
