If someone calls a show "awesome", I'm always glad I was not there.

Posted by Anonymous | February 5, 2012 11:52 AM

I bet these guys got their asses kicked more than once wearing these outfits. I thought the 80's died hard, obviously not

fucking hilarious time. Lighten up, Francis

Posted by Anonymous | February 5, 2012 12:34 PM

The main problem with Irving Plaza is that the doors are by the front of the floor. In a normal venue, if you show up last, you are at the back, and if you want to be one of those dicks who things you deserve to be just as close to the stage as people who showed up hours before you, you have to at least push your way through to the front.

At Irving anyone who shows up late has no choice but to push through the crowd, so why push through hundreds of people to get to the back, when you only are already close to the stage when you get through the doors. This means tons of a-holes who showed up late crowding in on you.

Fun show...good fun music not too serious...we need more bands that let loose and don't take themselves so serious

Great show and the Darkness are actually talented so I can understand people following this site not liking them. Foxy Shazam was awesome as well.

Posted by Anonymous | February 5, 2012 10:27 PM

Are we for real with that outfit.

...and then there's the guy wearing the George Michael "Faith" Tee.

This show seemed like a must miss.

Posted by Anonymous | February 5, 2012 10:31 PM

I bet he spent his whole paycheck on that outfit

Oh boo hoo 1:28. So you got there early and think you own the spot you are in. Some people have lives and cannot be there hours in advance. They have just as much right up front as you. Show me some ownership papers to that spot and you can have it.
Go fuck yourself.

If you hate on The Darkness, you must be one miserable motherfucker...

Posted by fjm | February 6, 2012 10:50 AM

4:27 is def the kind of concertgoer that I would happily punch in the face. That kind of douchebag entitlement mindset is what ruins shows for me sometimes. Strangely, it's happened at Irving a bunch of times and I've gotten into fights on more than one occasion because of it. Go figure.

Still, great fucking show. I'm actually pretty optimistic about the new album after hearing some new cuts. Street Spirit cover was fun, too!

What time did the darkness come on stage?

Posted by Juggy | February 6, 2012 1:40 PM

10:45

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2012 1:57 PM

Ooh 12:23 you are such an internet tough guy. Reality is you are probably a giant fucking pussy who would never step to anyone. I always see the comments on here from these people and i just laugh. I always push my way up to where i want to be at a show. You know what they do. NOTHING. They make a face or say what the hell and i just look em down and say you don't own this spot or this place so go suck a dick. Then they shrink away. Bottom line. You don't own any spot at a show. Unless it is seated it is open space. if someone can fit in or squeeze in to a spot that is their right. When you own the land then you can decide who goes where.

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2012 2:01 PM

12:23 here. yeah, and there are also concepts such as being considerate of others and not being a blatant fucking asshole, which you clearly don't get. you are what's wrong with society at large. selfish, entitled, unaware of or just unconcerned about the swath of shit you leave behind as you lurch through life.

believe it or not, i'm a tough guy in person too and would def lay your ass out if you didn't move after i told you to get the fuck out of my way. thankfully, karma will eventually catch up with you.

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2012 2:17 PM

^ suck a dick pussy.

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2012 2:19 PM

12:23/2:17, again you are full of shit and hot air. Another tough guy spouting but funny none of them ever materialize at shows

By the way, look up the concept of Karma stupid. You have no clue what that really is. But then again I would expect nothing less from a douche like yourself who feels as if they are entitled to claim an area which they have no ownership of.

Posted by Anonymous | February 6, 2012 2:25 PM

both u two people arguing above, relax.

anyway, I just saw the darkness tonight with foxy shazam and they were both incredible. they can really put on a great show. I don't understand how anyone can dislike these bands.

Posted by Anonymous | February 7, 2012 2:11 AM

Wait - can we please settle who is tougher?

I'm going with 12:23 on this one. I've told 4:27's where they can go plenty of times, they're not that tough. Shall we take it to the Bowl?

Posted by Anonymous | February 7, 2012 1:20 PM

i used to love these guys and think they were so cool till they sold out and did a superbowl commercial. what a bunch of sellouts! no thanks, i'll stick my playlist of bands who don't need to become puppets for corporate greed

Posted by Anonymous | February 7, 2012 2:22 PM

Making money doesn't make you a sellout. Compromising yourself for money does. And sellouts don't kill a show like these guys did.

Posted by Anonymous | February 8, 2012 8:12 AM

2:22, I disagree. I am happy for them, and I'll bet they made some good coin on that commercial, and got some great exposure. What's the big deal? It wasn't like they were doing a breakfast sausage or hot pockets commercial.

Laugh all you want and make sophomoric comments about their schtick, image, etc, but at the end of the day, this is really an excellent band who write great songs and they are FUN. Misunderstood? For sure. I don't think they compromised themselves at all in the commercial, they were just exhibiting what they do on a different scale, in a different context. Fair play, I say.

EVERYTHING about the DARKNESS IS GREAT! They are just what is needed in this dismal, dull, negative, macho, surly environment. They are so beloved by so many because they are TALENTED, ENTERTAINING, SMART, FUN, & they have the avocados to be unique, bold & brilliant & to do what they want do, damn the haters. Oh yeah & they write GREAT SONGS & PLAY THEIR INSTRUMENTS WELL!
My world used to revolve around music but I got tired of the negativity & lame untalented crap passing for music. I just turned my back & gave it up for 8 yrs. The Darkness have pulled me out of "retirement" to enjoy music again.
THANK YOU, JUSTIN & CO!
