The Kills @ Terminal 5 - 2/11/2012

"The Kills' show [Saturday] night at Manhattan's Terminal 5 was billed as a 10th anniversary concert, but the band hardly acknowledged the occasion over a 90-minute set focused mainly on material from their two most recent albums. There were a few surprises particular to this show: They were joined by four additional percussionists in matching black leather and red bandanas whose drumming was more ornamental than audible, and they revived the seldom-performed No Wow gem "At the Back of the Shell." But for the most part, this was business-as-usual for a band more invested in their present than their past." [Rolling Stone]The Kills, no strangers to Terminal 5, completed their tour with JEFF the Brotherhood and Hunters at the big NYC venue on Saturday night. They also hit Letterman and The Standard while in town. The openers also played their own shows at Maxwell's and Death By Audio.
Here are the pictures from Terminal 5. More of them with the Kills' setlist, below...

Still don't know why this was billed as a 10th anniversary show when they setlist was essentially the same as the last 2 or 3 times they've played Terminal 5.

Ten years too many.

It was almost the same as their last T5 gig, with exception of At The Back Of The Shell, Fuck The People, Black Balloon, Monkey 23 and the cover. It would had been great if they had played something like Wait that was their first hit but rarely gets played anymore.
Watched the livestream and they sounded pretty good. But I was expecting more songs from their first album being billed as an anniversary gig.

The underground finally hits the mainstream. Three cheers for the music industry.

Nice 2 nearly 40 year old musicians one married to one of the biggest supermodels in the world pretending to be angsty and edgy...very cool!

I wonder how much orgy sex Hunters has.

@2:23... would love to know what you do for a living (or better yet what you'll be doing when you're pushing 40). Also, "one of the biggest supermodels in the world"? Really? You're annoying.

I had the best time at this show. Danced through the entire sets of Jeff the Brotherhood and The Kills as was everyone around me. OK, back to the snide comments.

I liked the show too. While I usually hate Terminal 5, the sound was surprisingly good: loud yet clear. The sound at the last show I went there was also good, but I thought it was because Beirut plays more acoustic instruments at lower volumes. Does anyone know if they have changed their PA set-up or something?

When i saw them, before i could clearly see who it was i actually thought that the Hunter's girl was Jemina Pearl...
