11:35 thom forbid someone makes a joke out of bonny bear I know...

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 11:51 AM

I thought it was strange that Sleigh Bells chose to play two b-sides.

God, for their sake, I hope they were b-sides.

MC5 Bassist Michael Davis R.I.P

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 12:14 PM

SNL has actually been almost funny recently. Almost.

And I say this as a jaded hipster that totally doesn't even own a television. I heard this sketch through my neighbor's open window.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 12:20 PM

Who cares? Where is the coverage of bruise*cruise*2?????

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 12:26 PM

Who is this Justin Timberlake character. He's just delightful! I predict a bright future ahead for this one.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 12:30 PM

To me...SNL summed up Bon Iver perfectly by having him make HIMSELF fall asleep! ZZZZZ

Sleigh Bells = NuMetal/Lame

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 12:31 PM

Lotta yucks...liked Fred Armisen's impersonation of Prince....

Posted by Joshua Sanders | February 19, 2012 12:33 PM

SNL should book more seasoned music acts, Sleigh Bells, Lana Del Rey, they ain't ready for primetime players.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 12:35 PM

RIP Mike Davis,to me MC5 is still very relevant.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 12:41 PM

12:30 -- Justin Timberlake is not a new person in the celebrity world. He has been in a ton of movies not to mention a really successful music career. He has also hosted Saturday Night Live at least twice in the past. Before you ask a question like that, do a little research, and don't clog up the message boards. he has a bright future ALREADY.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 12:43 PM

12:43 is having a tough time at life.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 12:44 PM

12:43 - completely immune to sarcasm.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 12:48 PM

12:43 is obviously one of those new cross-over indie fans. SNL certainly trying to gain "indie cred." How long before Pitchfork partners with them?

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 12:48 PM

And the guinness record for highest number of white people playing black people in a single sketch goes to......

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 12:50 PM

stop talking about Mike Davis. no one cares

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 12:51 PM

SNL is still not funny, but that is a pretty good Jay-Z impression

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 12:53 PM

wow. that was actually a pretty funny sketch. is SNL funny again?

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 12:57 PM

the people who say SNL isn't funny are the people who watch it every week just to say it isn't funny

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 12:58 PM

Funniest overall SNL in a while (other than that "What's Up With That" talk show sketch, which is way past its sale date). However, I didn't think any band could be bad enough to do this to me but after watching Sleigh Bell's performances, I no longer like music. It's been nice being snarky with y'all over the last few years.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 1:34 PM

And the people who say SNL is funny are the people who are clueless to what is truly clever and funny. Basically morons.

The most clever thing on last night's episode was on one of the title cards coming back from commercial. It was a picture of Maya in a tribute to one of the covers of her mother Minnie Ripperton's classic albums. I'm sure most of you real music fans picked up on it.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 1:37 PM

The show SUCKS now, and it you think otherwise you never saw it when it was good (forget about great - it hasn't been great in a long, long time).

What do they need? An entire new set of writers. All of them, cut 'em all. Better yet, shoot it in the head now, like Sonic Youth, before it becomes a parody of a parody of itself.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 1:40 PM

"And the people who say SNL is funny are the people who are clueless to what is truly clever and funny. Basically morons."

There's a lot of competition for the title, but this may be the most idiotic comment I've ever read here.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 1:53 PM

Kate Upton is so insanely sexy. It is just a crime that the putz Mark Sanchez gets to fuck that pussy

Justin is in town filming the new Coen Brothers movie Inside Llewyn Davis. Now that will actually be witty.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 1:53 PM

""And the people who say SNL is funny are the people who are clueless to what is truly clever and funny. Basically morons."

So sayeth one of the aforementioned morons. Cheer up dummy. Life should be easy for someone stupid like yourself.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 1:58 PM

Almost funny .. made me think back to the good ole days... Chevy chase .. steve martin.. you know all white cast..

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 2:05 PM

Lulz @1:58. I don't find SNL funny at all, but your comment was still moronic. You're clearly too unsophisticated to figure out why either. But sure, call ME stupid.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 2:05 PM

what is up with the music on SNL? it has sucked for the last couple of months. bon iver, sleigh bells, chick with the puffy lips, chick nobody knows? last night did have more than usual funny skits, but i remember when none of the skits were funny.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 2:15 PM

FRED ARMISEN SUCKED. ALWAYS.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 2:18 PM

Yeah 1:53/2:05 why should anyone dare call someone who starts off a comment with "LULZ" stupid. Can't imagine anyone thinking that person is anything less than a genius. Still pretty funny that an idiot like yourself has the balls to call someone else unsophisticated.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 2:25 PM

What about brooze crooze 2?

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 2:30 PM

YNN

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 2:39 PM

THIS WAS ALMOST FUNNY.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 2:45 PM

2:05- Steve Martin was never a cast member moron

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 2:56 PM

2:05#1 - Yeah...who needs cast members like Garrett Morris, Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock or Damon Wayans, right? Your ignorance is astounding moron.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 2:58 PM

So is this like the place for SNL staff to troll and drum up some hype for the show? I forgot, you can't comment on Pitchfork!

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 3:03 PM

Do people on this site have a negative attitude?

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 3:16 PM

"Yeah 1:53/2:05 why should anyone dare call someone who starts off a comment with "LULZ" stupid."

Is that a question? Lulz.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 3:18 PM

2:05 - irony needs a clear antithesis to be effective and humorous. You lack both a clear antithesis and humor - just what point were you making? (apart from shining lights on your blatant racism)

3:16 - I'm convinced without a doubt that many who comment on this board are undiagnosed bipolar or undiagnosed borderline personality disorder. Don't ask why those with mental illness do what they do - you will get lost down the rabbit hole.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 3:30 PM

3:30 is a retard. 3:30 doesn't know this, however. And this, this is comedy.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 3:40 PM

3:40 (who is 2:05) - You Win! You are the Biggest Fuckwad on BV! And your still not funny (although you are in the mental illness pool)

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 3:58 PM

good job 3:30. you totally outed the troll. he's probably still fuming (ha ha). i'm going to pop some popcorn, because this fool can't control himself. this should be great.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 4:01 PM

All of you need to get a life

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 4:17 PM

3:30 is lame. Way to get all analytical nerd.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 4:17 PM

This sketch was better than Beth/Rest.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 4:32 PM

Truth hurts, 4:17.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 5:36 PM

Fred Armisen is never funny.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 5:37 PM

I agree with 3:30. Bunch of angry twattrollfucks on here using up their dayroom privileges at the psych ward. Used to be about 20% noise on here, but now it's more like 80% noise, angry malicious douchy noise. I don't even engage them anymore.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 6:10 PM

What a bunch of horrible comments.
Fred Armisen is funny and a good writer. The people who say he is not probably like Andy Samberg who truly is mediocre.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 6:36 PM

6:36 wouldn't know funny if it fucked her in the ass

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 6:48 PM

Fred Armisen is horrible, and to insist that the comedy continuum is bounded between FA and Andy Samberg just shows how bereft of humor your way-too-serious life is.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 6:48 PM

I think Fred is funny. I think Andy Samberg is funny. I think Will Farrell is funny. I think Eddie Murphy is funny. I think John Belushi is funny.

I think the writing on SNL has deteriorated to the point where these talented comedians are judged by the poor material, and the most humane thing to do now is to end the show.

One more thing. I best Maya Rudolph is a WWWIIILLLDDD one if ya know what I mean.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 6:53 PM

6:48(a) thinks rape is funny. they're gonna like you at Rikers, Holden.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 6:56 PM

Am I overly sensitive if reading these comments makes me a little bit depressed? I am sad they are coming from the promising young artists of our society.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 7:17 PM

holden?

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 7:18 PM

3:30 - doesnt know what antithesis means.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 7:19 PM

Rape is only funny when it happens at Occupy encampments.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 7:31 PM

7:17 / 7:18 / 7:19 => ZING'D!

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 7:44 PM

How come my comment wasn't approved? Because I didn't use the word "twatrollfuck" or call someone a retard?

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 7:51 PM

^ No, it's because you *are* a twatfucktroll. Nice catch, BV!

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 8:21 PM

If you come on here just to call people names and basically be a douche, don't bitch when your comments get censored. Take it as a hint.

Nah, of course you won't. Must .... Get .... Last .... Word ...

Keep telling yourself that it's not you, it's the rest of the world that's got the problem.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 8:27 PM

Is there some nuance or ongoing joke that makes these comments funnier than they seem to someone new to the site?

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 8:53 PM

Actually, I didn't bitch or call anyone a name in my post. What I wrote was, last night's episode was actually very funny, it petered out towards the end but that's usually the case, and the funniest moments were the JT appearances and the Maya Angelou skit. That's what I wrote. Way to presume, jackass.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 9:09 PM

No, 8:53: they are just ridiculously unfunny.
Judging by the tone (and the fact that they are all anonymous) I'd say it's the work of one reeeeeeally lonely individual trying to seem like a team of trolls trying to drum up debate one way or another. A troll baiter. And the fact that he or she has decided to dwell on a topic no two people on earth could care so much about makes it seem as if he or she is really young: either in age or mental capacity.

Posted by Not anonymous | February 19, 2012 9:23 PM

The obnoxious comments make me laugh. Not so much because I find them to be in any way funny, but because I get a very hearty laugh out of the morons who take themselves so seriously that they feel the need to complain about them.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 9:29 PM

Okay, I just did not know if I was missing some subtlety. I don't like to come into a community and judge but it seems sort of striking here -- this sadness. I mean, I guess I like to assume that the people who spend time on a site devoted to good music and culture are intelligent and, I guess, more good-natured? Does anyone know any sites out there where people talk about music and culture in a less depressing manner?

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 9:29 PM

Justin Timberlake: the Jan Hooks of ironic cardigans

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 9:31 PM

Sorry now I see my last post a couple minutes ago was judge-y. To each their own, I guess, if people are enjoying themselves.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 9:32 PM

No reasonably intelligent person could be pleased with the state of music or culture.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 9:36 PM

9;36 is a troll!

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 9:43 PM

9:43 loves Toonyardz

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 9:55 PM

I feel like I get where people on this site are coming from. I am in Chicago, so it is a little different here, but I gather the people who comment here are well-educated people who have pretty cool, relaxed, well-paying jobs in the media. They know about all the latest stuff and probably at least 1/3 of the people who comment in here are in bands that I have heard of. When they come home, they want to let loose a little bit. It makes sense.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 10:22 PM

Ugh I feel like my post came out the wrong way. What I am saying is, I envy your position in NYC. I am pushing 30 in Chicago and barely make six figures and I know that seems laughable. And I can tell by the confidence of the people on here that they are probably dating girls much more attractive than I could ever land. But, at the same time, I think there is something to be said for positivity. And even if you don't want to use your intellect at ever juncture, and have a way of casually making jokes I don't quite understand, it's worth giving a complement or two. I personally really enjoyed last night's SNL performance!

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 10:29 PM

"I best Maya Rudolph is a WWWIIILLLDDD one if ya know what I mean."

Maybe in her younger days but certainly not anymore. Not after popping out 3 kids for Paul Thomas Anderson

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 11:28 PM

Linsanity > hummus > pres hall jazz band > clown shit > Fred Armisen > whatever band BBG thinks is cool.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2012 11:44 PM

6:48 PM Likes the dick in the box pathetic samberg timberlake skit and Reggie Watts.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 1:57 AM

9:03 / 9:23 / 9:29 / etc. etc. - you totally described yourself. Congrats for proving your own point, Einstein. And if that's only what you wrote, and you wrote the same thing, it wouldn't have been uncensored this time. Nice try, queer bait.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 6:48 AM

Poor Maya, trying to be a 'serious actor' and failing.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 7:56 AM

Fact: Armisen posts here and reads this blog every day.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 7:59 AM

Fred Armisen is Michael Sosa

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 8:23 AM

Hold up, you mean Maya Rudolph isn't on the show anymore? WTF?!?!

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 8:26 AM

that was a pretty funny skit. i have to say, timberlake is consistently one of the funniest guests on the show. bout time there was some public mockery of bon iver's self-indulgence.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 8:46 AM

Who the hell is Michael Sosa?

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 8:55 AM

Who is Kaiser Sosa?

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 9:27 AM

8:55 = BV Google is your friend

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 9:31 AM

Michael Sosa thinks Fred Armisen is funny, but he is dead inside.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 9:48 AM

Why do people here have a problem with Fred Armisen. I suspect from the edgy tone there are a lot of other successful in their own right, but slightly less successful, comics on here talking shit.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 10:58 AM

^no problem w/ him, he's just never funny.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 11:06 AM

I like Fred Armisen alright. Tina Fey on the other hand ... now, there is an insufferable self-important twat. Oh damn, that right there was funnier than anything Tina Fey has ever done LULZ!

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 11:36 AM

Geico commercials are funnier than SNL

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 11:37 AM

COMMENTS!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 12:05 PM

Fred Armisen is so gifted that a thread which should be all about laughing at Bone Evaire has become about him. It's all part of the Armisen master plan for world dominance!

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 12:30 PM

All of you are fucking tools.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 12:35 PM

Yeah 12:35 and you are just the only cool one around who had to come here and tell everyone else what tools they are. It must be awesome to live your life in such a heightened state of delusion

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 12:55 PM

^ this is the same asshole that accuses other posters of being "internet tough guys" and such, and yet NEVER acknowledges the hatred and bullying he does every time he posts. This twat needs therapy and medication, but likely won't get the treatment he needs because he thinks that would be "selling out"

The whole world is laughing at YOU BWAHAHAHAHAHAGHGHGh (I just choked on spit, I was laughing so hard).

Thanks for the memories dude!

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 1:07 PM

Fred Armisen is never funny. Prove that I'm wrong.

^ The Price Show.
Proven Wrong

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 1:33 PM

da fuck is The Price Show?

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 1:43 PM

1:07 sounds like the guy who needs therapy. Serious get help psycho.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 1:48 PM

1:07 sounds like an assclown. Because I'm not stupid enough to play the same assertion game, I'll just say that he *sounds like* the fool who groups anonymous comments together and says that they're the same person. And Since I'll occasionally be responsible for one of the multiple comments he/she cites, I can only laugh at this idiot. Then again, this could be an entirely different idiot. It's not like morons who like indie rock are even remotely uncommon.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 2:01 PM

^ No, you angry troll, your need for serious therapy remains, unabated.
Nice attempt at the old blame shift though. Nice for a 4th grade-er.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 2:01 PM

good call on the prince show. I forgot about that one.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 2:07 PM

Poke the troll and watch him snap
LULZ, it's really too easy

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 2:11 PM

All these pencil neck geeks talking tough on the internet. You fucking idiots. In real life I would shove your dick down your throat and pull it out your ass!!! Fucking nerds who got bullied in highschool love to talk shit behind their computers.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 2:17 PM

I agree. Anyone who feels compelled to write a paragraph to call someone names is in need of some serious therapy.

Serious question - your mom told you not to leave the house until she got back from the store, right?

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 2:18 PM

2:01 is Michael Sosa. Prove that I'm wrong.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 2:19 PM

Fred Armisen's recurring sketch where he fills in for the talk show host is one of the best things on SNL ever.

Heh. That was my first comment here since before the weekend. Carry on ...

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 2:44 PM

I don't enjoy these comments.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 2:48 PM

^dissociative fugue has to be tough. One day at a time!

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 2:48 PM

Let me join in with the others at mocking Angry Troll 1:07. He is making me laugh though. I bet his face is red and veins bulge out of his head as he goes through the threads and comments trying to figure out which anon's are the same people.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 2:56 PM

wtf? this thread is insane even by BV standards. The inmates are definitely running the asylum at this point.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 3:07 PM

3:07 ftw, couldn't agree more. bat shit craziness at every turn!

2:24 speaks the truth

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 4:04 PM

^yeah it's definitely the one of the best things ever. Neck and neck with anything Eddie ever did.

PUHleeeez.....Armisen ain't funny. Wasn't, isn't and won't be. He needs to wake and become the professional straight man he was born to be. If he really worked hard, and perhaps with a bit of luck on his side, he could have Luke Wilson's career.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 4:13 PM

I came in thinking I thought Fred Armisen was funny but some of these thoughtful comments have convinced me otherwise.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 4:46 PM

Eddie James did have some classic skeches back in the 80s

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2012 4:46 PM
