2Pac

It wasn't that long ago that Upright Citizens Brigade hosted the parody show 2Pac: The Musical ("Like Mamma Mia but with more rapping!"). Now it seems that Broadway is following suit, but this time with a straight face...

Casting has officially begun for a musical based on the life and times of hip-hop icon Tupac Shakur.
Casting will begin for "Holler If Ya Hear Me" on March 4 in New York.

According to a posting on industry trade Playbill.com, "Holler If Ya Hear Me" is being directed by Kenny Leon and is described as an "American musical inspired by and featuring the music of Tupac Shakur."

Kenny Leon is a critically acclaimed Broadway director, who has won three Tony Awards. -[AllHipHop]

To quote a tweet by Danny Brown, "a 2pac musical? .... whats next Biggie on Ice?".

Afeni Shakur is the absolute fucking worst. Always trying to wring an extra buck out of her son's corpse

Considering what a disaster nearly every posthumous Pac record has been, she should put out limited edition vinyl a capella verses to the greatest extent possible.

As much as everyone shits on Jay-Z, putting out the Black Album verses for other producers to fuck with was inspired. It's largely responsible his recent (and somewhat questionable) canonization. Afeni would rather continue the ongoing recorded necrophilia of that legacy to fund stupid hats, and whatever other amenities tide her over between crack relapses. Fuck her with a spiked dick.

In that photo above of Tupac, is he trying to use his fingers in a creative way to showcase to the attendant that he would like to order 6 side orders of hummus?

I will only go to this if the first act consists entirely of the music of Digital Underground.

"Holler If Ya Hear Me"? I thought it was called "Bullets Over Broadway".
