As a 30-year old apparently going on 80-something, let me also toss in a lament for what a complete frigging mess this is going to make of one of the nicest places in Brooklyn in the summer: the nethermead in Prospect Park. Cripes, all of the BBQ'ers already turn it into a dump. I can't imagine what the park is gonna look like the weekend of May 19-20th.

Posted by lp | March 15, 2012 12:26 PM

1226p want a tissue?
bah hummmmbugggg

there are always large concerts there and theres never a problem

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 12:28 PM

Anthony Bourdain is making a hummus platter, that alone is worth the ticket price.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 12:28 PM

28 minutes in queue.

Posted by The Mighty KC | March 15, 2012 12:28 PM

Can't get past being "in line". Seems like a real shit show. Can anybody ever get servers that can handle demand.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 12:30 PM

"Aziz Ansari & James Murphy are doing something"

Good for them?

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 12:31 PM

Why is this such a big deal? I don't understand.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 12:32 PM

I love how James Murphy said he's retiring to work more in the studio and all I see is him cashing more $$$ by doing DJ sets everywhere. Hypocrite!

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 12:33 PM

my computer is actually made of hummus and Im still not getting through/ I like that great minds think alike but would prefer if could we could all register

Fuck this, time for an Austin Powers marathon.

Posted by yeah, baby! | March 15, 2012 12:37 PM

I think their website is powered by Lite Brite

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 12:37 PM

12:28: I'm ok with you handing out tissues in the park, but make sure they go into the proper trash receptacle at the end of the day.

(As for the other concerts in the park, they are great. But, they are held in a spot - the bandshell area - that is purpose-built for concerts. Conversely, on the rare occasions when something like the OogaMooga thing gets held - think of Spike Lee's Michael Jackson birthday party a couple years ago - the whole park just gets turned into a dump. PP is such an awesome free space, that that kinda thing bums me out.)

Posted by lp | March 15, 2012 12:37 PM

haha, James just won't go away, will he? awesome!!!

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 1:11 PM

Been in two queues since 12:01. Not really heartbroken over it, if this wasn't free I wouldn't even bother.

Don't use Eventshite for anything.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 1:11 PM

My 4 tickets were just delivered via UPS. That was quick, not sure what all the complaining is about.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 1:11 PM

Eventshite. I like that. I'm going to use that moving forward whenever I...oh, wait.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 1:12 PM

What the fuck do I do if it's just me and another person? Do I still have to get four tickets? This whole thing fucking sucks already.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 1:14 PM

stomping on my scrotum would be less painful than this

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 1:15 PM

Seriously, why the fuck do people use Eventbrite? Not sure I've ever seen it working properly for any event.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 1:16 PM

1:05 may not have been bullshitting, am getting an "Add to Waitlist" link now where the quantity was before.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 1:16 PM

Eventbrite is tweeting to say in queue (as of 1:05PM), that orders are still being processed but slowly. I've been on since 12:00

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 1:17 PM

yeah, saw that waitlist message too. yikes. this a tougher ticket than lcd, lol

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 1:29 PM

just told me tickets are sold out!

Posted by roux42 | March 15, 2012 1:33 PM

yea i got confirmed.... for a waitlist ticket.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 1:33 PM

Eventbrite and Googa Mooga organizers are just a bunch of fuckheads. GoogaMooga had the genius idea of letting one person register and then they can bring 3 or 4 more people thereby screwing others. Eventbrite is telling you to stay in line and that it's first come first served. Meanwhile check out the tweets to them. People who got through when they joined the line at 12:15 And those that have been on since noon still havent. But they claim it is working and to stay in line. Then look at the further tweets of people who finally get in and it says no tix available. They tweet back to you "Oh so sorry"

i truly hope and pray people get angry and just show up and overrun the park. Let em have a Woodstock on their hands.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 1:34 PM

it will not let me get on waitlist either,

Posted by roux42 | March 15, 2012 1:36 PM

"Sorry, the tickets you are trying to order are not currently available."

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 1:37 PM

Good thing I live in Manhattan. I don't have to go to the shiz hole that is Prospect Park :-D.

After all, I do live 10 minutes from THE park (CP!)

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 1:39 PM

It's for sure sold out, bull shit!

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 1:40 PM

"Sorry, the tickets you are trying to order are not currently available."

"You’re currently in line! Great minds think alike."

My "please wait" bar is still moving. I know it's sold out, but I don't want to close the browser until I am personally told so. Hmmmmmm...

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 1:47 PM

I would to publicly apologize to ShowClix. In the ShowClix debacle thread, I stated that there is no need to use ShowClix for paperless tickets, just use EventBrite since they work.

I guess I was wrong. Both companies suck.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 1:48 PM

that was all a bit of a shambles... waiting since 12 and jst informed sold out... not swag

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 1:49 PM

"waiting since 12 and jst informed sold out... not swag"

If you use the word 'swag', you deserve NOTHING! Grow up, tool

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 1:52 PM

GoogaMooga needs to browbeaten in the press for not offering locals first chance. Now we get screwed by the fest overflow and can't get tickets because of obvious security vulnerabilities to scalper bot nets? BS

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 1:54 PM

this thing is going to suck anyway lol

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 1:57 PM

How, and i mean HOW IN THE EFFING WORLD, does Ticketmaster, Ticketfly, Eventbrite, etc STILL not have servers that can handle the traffic that they know they are going to get for big/popular events?!?!

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 1:57 PM

Guys calm down. The show is not sold out at all
I just called eventbrite and spoke to someone. They assured me it is not sold out. The system was screwed so they moved everyone over at this point to a wait list. They are going to contact those people on it later and give them a way to get a ticket. Unfortunately he said the wait list queue then got lagged and so now people are hung trying to get on that
System fail but the shows are not sold out.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 1:58 PM

Googa mooga sounds like something a bone-in-the-nose spear chucker would say. Racist!

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 1:59 PM

"How, and i mean HOW IN THE EFFING WORLD, does Ticketmaster, Ticketfly, Eventbrite, etc STILL not have servers that can handle the traffic that they know they are going to get for big/popular events?!?!"

I would assume these issues have little to do with the servers and more to do with the software.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 2:00 PM

I was given a five minute window to register, but didn't notice (doing things for work) and time expired. I clicked Back, resubmitted, and got a ticket.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 2:00 PM

If this company wasn't a told f-wad (it is) it would cancel digital tickets and try again next week. And put a captcha...

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 2:00 PM

Bottom line----This shouldn't have been a FREE event where everyone can get up to 4 tix. Charge $25 per person and use a more efficient service than Eventbrite. Problem solved....until the lineup is revealed and EVERYONE complains regardless.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 2:01 PM

Oh.. What a world, what a wicked wicked world. Now is the hour of my deepest discontent.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 2:01 PM

so if you got on the waitlist you got a ticket? because i'm on the waitlist...

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 2:03 PM

wow. even the free tickets are done. crazypants. that's a shame.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 2:05 PM

@2PM same for me; i just received a confirmation email. saturday early registration. fyi the email to complain is googamoogatix@eventbrite.com

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 2:12 PM

fucking googa mooga, making me hack a website to get a free ticket.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 2:16 PM

Posted by Seguro Desemprego | March 15, 2012 4:12 PM

It's really funny to hear people complain about something called 'Googa Mooga.' Is this sponsored by Yo Gabba Gabba and Teletubbies? Will there be a guest spot by the Warbles?

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 4:40 PM

There were 10,000 more tickets to give out but James Murphy ate them all with Aziz.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 5:03 PM

The Internet has really fucked this whole ticket thing up for fans

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 5:12 PM

Hey everybody,

Quite the ticketing snafu today and apologies for the headaches all around. This was early registration and were clearly blown away in both good and bad ways...

More tickets will be released but if you tried for tickets today and didn't get through then send an email to info@googamooga.com and we'll do what we can to work this thing out.

Posted by GoogaMooga | March 15, 2012 5:18 PM

GoogaMooga cannot anger white people. Try make right with the white man.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 5:50 PM

If you do not make sacrifice of $250 to the great GoogaMooga, you will anger the spirits and they will not let you eat food while fat James Murphy plays you records.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 6:00 PM

"The Internet has really fucked this whole ticket thing up for fans"

For fans of what? The music lineup isn't even announced, and who cares about foodies.

What fucked up everything was free tickets. Too many cheap people flocking to free events. If they only charged $5, things would have gone smoothly.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 6:19 PM

I signed up for the email list over a week ago and did not know tickets were going on sale today. These organizers are *ing idiots.

Posted by Gerald | March 15, 2012 6:57 PM

I heard James Murphy did a DJ set at a restaurant and he ate all the food in the restaurant and they had to close the restaurant.

Posted by Ralph Wiggum | March 15, 2012 7:29 PM

hi

Posted by a | March 15, 2012 7:58 PM

James Murphy, Male Prostitute

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 8:05 PM

lol $250 for a james murphy dj set and aziz ansari... like both those dudes (lcd at least) but that is outrageous. not even to mention the G probably won't be running that far that weekend.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 8:28 PM

Lol not only did I just get an email back about ONE of my submissions, but my other email I submitted was confirmed too. Get back to me and i'll see if i can transfer one to you.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 8:57 PM

OK, new game ... I'm thinking of a brand of Irish whiskey ... triple distilled ... since 1608 ... any guesses?

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 11:22 PM

Y'all are gonna be shittin' bricks when the lineup is announced and it's fucking RADIOHEAD with special guest the LIVING CORPSE OF JOE STRUMMER using the detached withered cock of JIMI HENDRIX as his holy microphone and they're all backed with vocals by ADELE, FIONA APPLE and MAMA CASS. That's when we'll see the REAL TEARS, BITCHES.

Posted by Anonymous | March 16, 2012 12:11 AM

I don't care. Today was anal sex and vegetarian chili day at my apartment, so no time for silly GoogaMooga pursuits. It was all UngaBunga!

Posted by Anonymous | March 16, 2012 3:07 AM

I have to mark my calendar appropriately for next year.
March 14th: Steak and BJ day
March 15th: Veggie Chili and Anal Day

Posted by Anonymous | March 16, 2012 6:44 AM
