Bruce

Bruce Sprinsgteen & the E Street Band play a private SiriusXM show at the Apollo tonight (3/9). If you're not one of the lucky that got, or won, a ticket from the satellite radio provider, you can always listen on E-Street Radio (if you are a subscriber).

Lionel Richie (!) will be honored at the same Harlem venue on June 4th as part of the Apollo Spring Gala 2012. As you can imagine, tickets are not cheap. They go on sale to the general public Sunday morning.

Lionel Richie is also playing SXSW this month. So is Bruce (and both at ACL Live's Moody Theater where Radiohead just taped an episode of the Austin City Limits TV show). Jay-Z plays there during SXSW too.

springsteen has sucked for at least the past 30 years. his new album is terrible. why do old people even bother with new music? nobody wants to hear it.

Posted by Anonymous | March 9, 2012 1:16 PM

^sucks...I will bet you anything you haven't heard it.

Posted by Anonymous | March 9, 2012 1:34 PM

There is nobody who puts on a better show.

The ignorance on this board is stunning (ie 1:16)

Can't wait to hang with my hedge fund buds & fist pump to tunes about economic disparity. Power to the people, man.

Fuck this...when's the HORSE out the stall?

Posted by Anonymous | March 9, 2012 1:55 PM

I love Bruce but the 3 albums since the Rising have all sucked. The new one is painfully dull.

I don't think the new album is as good as the critics have been raving. There is no doubt though that he puts on an amazing live show and seeing him at the Apollo tonight will be special. Unfortunately most of the tickets went to VIP, press and Sirius employees. General public who got em are upstairs in the nosebleeds which at the Apollo suck. I imagine BV put this post up in exchange for tickets.

Tis true saw Gorillaz in upper mezz at Apollo sightlines do suck..I was able though to move down and the lower rows at the mez were ok.

Irrelevant news.

The only act big from 30 years ago that does NOT suck now is the new and improved Van Halen. All the rest (Aerosmith, ZZ Top, Springsteen, Elton John, Rolling Stones, Metallica, etc. etc.) suck balls.

Posted by Anonymous | March 9, 2012 2:27 PM

^get real...I would pick Duran Duran, Beastie Boys, The Cure, Tom Petty, and Phish over Van Halen (not that van halen is bad but your comment is absurd!)

Posted by Anonymous | March 9, 2012 2:31 PM

2:01, Devils & Dust and Seeger Sessions were great

Posted by Anonymous | March 9, 2012 2:37 PM

^They were...but most of these bozo's on here comment without ever hearing the album..they just jump on whatever bandwagon goes there way...

Springsteen, like many of his peers, has become a parody of himself.

2:31 / 2:39 - children's opinions don't count. go play with your toys. Duran Duran? Really? You are a tard. Beastie Boys, Cure, and Phish are a fraction of what they were, and clearly have passed their glory. And Tom Petty - whatever, tard. Petty is a tired hippy that plays simple music for the simple minded. like you I gues, amirite?

Well well you say Van Halen are the only good band with 30 years under their belt? Well dumbass Van Halen 3 was part of their career! Also Haggar was too! Great band! Roth is ok but man they sucked for 25 of the last 30 years! Every band mentioned have a better track record! It amazes me how idiotic and close minded people are on here! This is a music blog of all places! Well enjoy your Halen and whatever else floats your boat you Lonley pathetic troll!

6:02 Shut up, sit down, I told you not to be stupid you moron!

Posted by Anonymous | March 9, 2012 6:41 PM

NY Dolls, Wire, Mission of Burma, Buzzcocks, PIL still put on great shows. The new material ain't half bad either.

Posted by Anonymous | March 9, 2012 8:30 PM

Springsteen owns.

Posted by Anonymous | March 9, 2012 10:32 PM

Anyway who says he's sucked for 30 years hasn't actually heard a single song Bruce has released in 30 years. Argument against you: Wrecking Ball.

5:37 + 5:39 = same douche

Posted by uae ads | March 21, 2012 7:14 AM

^Douche or not that guy makes a great point. VH had many more objectional albums than Bruce...VH 3 by far is a DARK DARK stain on VH legacy and I am not even talking about the Sammy years.
