Fiona Apple

So far, Fiona Apple is definitely in the running for most blogged about act at SXSW. She played two shows--at Austin's Stubb's on Wednesday night and Central Presbyterian Church on Thursday night.

Of the Stubb's show, the New York Times writes that "the baleful, anxious, doleful, enraged Fiona Apple was back in full force."

The Austin shows are the first in a short tour for Fiona, which includes stops in Chicago, D.C., Atlantic City and Boston. New York audiences will get to see her March 23rd and 26th at a pair of BV-presented shows, as well as at Governors Ball in June.

Video from Austin and a set list are below...

Would have loved to been around the Pitchfork braintrust when they dreamed up this resurrection. Now if only Tom Windish could be involved. She hasn't toured since the advent of the internet. More underplays please.

rich fiona apple fans are glad to pay it. Consider me a light switch. Gravy nunchucks, jalabee nightgown.

She sounds fantastic. Suck it, haters.

Posted by Anonymous | March 16, 2012 6:57 PM

Those prices are absurd.

Posted by Anonymous | March 16, 2012 7:06 PM

The prices aren't absurd. What's absurd is that people would pay that much for a fucking concert. Fiona isnt giving away gift bags or BJs. A fool and his money...

Posted by Anonymous | March 16, 2012 8:58 PM

Is that Devin Townsend or Adrian Belew playing upright?

Posted by Anonymous | March 16, 2012 10:16 PM

Sebastion Steinberg, most know for his work with Soul Coughing.

Posted by Anonymous | March 16, 2012 10:23 PM

she was awful at stubbs. voice was horse and crackin. guitar leads were off. bad feedback at times. i was waiting for her to go nutzo.

Posted by Anonymous | March 17, 2012 12:20 AM

8:58 What's the difference?

Posted by Anonymous | March 17, 2012 12:26 AM

12:26 I'm saying that it's not absurd that people would charge that much. It's absurd that people would gladly PAY that much. If I had tickets, I'd charge that much too, knowing that fools would pay.

Austin's Rainforest Partnership is ensconced in SXSW's exhibit hall this year. This organization takes a unique approach to protecting rainforests, by working with the communities who actually live there. Niyanta Spelman and Maurine Winkley gave more details.
