Now Now

Minneapolis trio Now Now are currently on the road with The Naked & Famous, a tour which rolls into New York next week for a sold-out show on Wednesday (4/4) at Terminal 5. For those who want to see them in a less cavernous (yet still high-ceilinged) venue, Now Now play a headlining gig on Tuesday (4/3) at Cameo Gallery with Lightyear and Field Mouse. After their stint with the Naked & Famous, the band will then hook up with fun. who will be atTerminal 5 on June 15 and 16 (both sold out).

Now Now's second album, Threads, came out earlier this month on Chris Walla's Trans Records. As you might expect from a label run by a member of Death Cab for Cutie, Threads is expansive, ocean-sized, heart-on-sleeve pop. (You can fill in your own late '90s/early '00s sensitive genre names.) It's a big, ambitious record that sounds like it was built for places like Terminal 5 and, who knows, it may not be long before they are headlining there themselves.

You can stream a couple Threads tracks at the bottom of this post and watch the video for "Dead Oaks" as well. Or you can stream the whole album on Spotify. All Now Now tour dates are below too...

I can't believe how many bands skip both DC and Baltimore. I guess getting that Covington gig is was too important...

The Covington gig is important to band that wants to make new fans and money. They are opening for FUN. Band is selling out T5.

Plus Covington had one of the better strip clubs I've been to and these bitches look like dykes. I guess that one on the right is a bull dyke.

Wow wow wow, settle with the sh*t talk.

I just saw these guys live the other day and I fell in love.

Their music deserve some respect for not being the same crap we listen every day on radio.

Seriously who the hell cares how old they are.

The lead singer is 25 years old. Youngest one is 20.
Jesus, have some respect.

threads is a solid record.

"Their music deserve some respect for not being the same crap we listen every day on radio."

No one here listens to the radio. You are clearly not a BV reader as these comments are basically as nice as it gets.

It's a pretty good album though

Yes because they all resemble justin bieber so much. Why are people attempting to make judgements by their looks anyway? Their music is exceptional and deserves praise.

Any Now, Now fans finding there way over here to defend the band. Don't sweat it. Getting ripped on here is a right of passage for any successful musician.

Brooklyn Vegan is full of crusty ass no talent Bushwick bitches who can't seem to book shows for their own shitty band's anywhere but Trash Bar and Spike HIll.

They'll keep on telling themselves they're just too challenging for the indie rock masses. But in reality they're just SOL because even 120k worth of art school couldn't buy them an original idea or enough motivation to follow through on anything they start aside from the blog comments they write while dreaming of how they'll one day accomplish something more than being a shitty excuse for a barista who blacks out at Union Pool every other night while trying to hit on the 20 year old NYU students who brave the L Train for a taste of something "different" and "edgy."

5:07 PM Thats pretty true and funny, but aren't they getting a place in the Burg after they get off the road with Tegan and Sara?

Posted by Anonymous | March 30, 2012 6:13 PM

what the fuck is this garbage?

Posted by Anonymous | March 30, 2012 7:13 PM

saying this is the usual for this website isn't an excuse for talking crap about an amazing band... i wonder how many of you bothered to even listen to a song?

Posted by Tom | March 30, 2012 7:31 PM

I watched two interviews and listened to two songs. They seem OK for pop.
