Suicidal Tendencies at Terminal 5 (more by Meghan McInnis)
Suicidal Tendencies

After an initial announcement featured bands from across the map, Metallica's Atlantic City summer festival Orion Music & More (June 23rd and 24th at Bader Field) has announced more bands and a "Damage Inc" stage. The new stage has a more metal focus while avoiding the standard "Summer Slaughter"/"Monster Energy Drink Mayhem Festival" type fare. Suicidal Tendencies will headine the stage, which will also feature Sepultura, Torche, Red Fang, Kyng, Landmine Marathon, Black Tusk, and Thy Will Be Done.

Eric Church, The Jim Breuer Heavy Metal Comedy Tour, Soul Rebels, and Wooden Shjips have also been added to the lineup.

The new bands are in addition to previously announced folk like Metallica, Modest Mouse, Titus Andronicus (who play the BV Official Showcase at SXSW), Arctic Monkeys, The Black Angels (who are also playing a BV SXSW event), and many others. Tickets are on sale. Full lineup below...

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2012 11:52 AM

Orion's line up has more ATP acts than ATP ? who from that list would you consider an ATP band???

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2012 12:03 PM

"I guess tickets weren't selling."

Do you really think they pulled together these acts in the past two weeks since tickets were not selling? These shows are planned well in advance.

Excellent news...

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2012 12:20 PM

Do you think Robert Trujillo would jam on stage with Suicidal Tendencies?

Infectious Grooves reunion would be fun.

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2012 12:21 PM

I like Jim Breuer in Pizza Hut Commercials.

ATP and Orion equally suck ass this year. What boring, boring lineups.

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2012 3:07 PM

Yeah ATP sucks. Afghan Whigs and GYBE.
When is tUnE-YarDs playing again? Bet you love her/them/it.

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2012 3:28 PM

GYBE had one good album and three boring re-hashes. Afghan Whigs always sucked. Next.

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2012 3:43 PM

Wooden shjips have played ATP a couple of times (and they've been great). I think Black Angels have as well.

just sayin'

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2012 3:45 PM

So they still haven't announced what night they will be playing ride the lightning? Haven't announced 1 day ticket prices (if even selling 1 day tickets)? What the heck are they waiting for!?!

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2012 3:47 PM

If you think ATP sucks..you obviously have NO clue who the emeralds are...and obviously your opinion on music...is a fucking joke

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2012 4:02 PM

3:43 - you don't even deserve a witty comment. you are alseap.

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2012 4:20 PM

Actually, all of you who've responded to me, I'm Mark McGuire.

Posted by 3:43 | March 8, 2012 4:23 PM

And for the record, 4:02, we're not THE emeralds.

Posted by 3:43 | March 8, 2012 4:25 PM

1:00: Those bands are there to cater to the "sausage" cravers, i.e. trendies/hipsters

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2012 4:55 PM

I heard Sabra is puting together a festival. That will be an awesome lineup.

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2012 5:52 PM

Mark McGuire would be too busy getting stoned and making his 85th album of the week to respond on this site..btw he is the best

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2012 6:03 PM

Metallica hasn't made a noteworthy album since Master Of Puppets, and that was like nearly 30 years ago.

Increasingly irrelevant.

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2012 6:23 PM

Cliff burton wore bell bottoms well after they were out of style. This is a compliment.

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2012 8:19 PM

Def NOT the direction I saw this going in. I was expecting baroness, kylesa... Maybe king diamond....

This is officially the least "heavy" fest of the summer. Viva MDF, Metallica is for the olds.

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2012 9:20 PM

The line up is both so good and so bad at the same time.

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2012 9:21 PM

ST is playing the NYC-Philly corridor way too much. I count SIX shows between NYC and Philly since 2010 (two in NYC, two in NJ, one on LI, and one in Philly.)

They are a shadow of their 1987-95 days (Muir/George/Clark/Trujillo/Herrera-Freese-DeGrasso.) They have no more ideas which is really sad considering how groundbreaking they were and good/interesting Mike's voice still is. Mike needs to write songs again instead of pander to the "The only good album is the first one" idiots who think ST should've written the same album over and over.

You want to listen to ST? Listen to the albums up to Suicidal For Life, the last great one they put out. You want to see them? Watch videos of them through '95. That's the ST I (want to) remember.

The level of stupidity from the hipsters is astounding.

During the announcement for the fest, the band mentioned heavier bands would be added in the coming weeks. It had nothing to do with ticket sales, and judging how quickly the Ultra Pass sold out, I'm sure ticket sales are their least concern.

If sales were terrible, one or two BIG name bands would have been added.

Oh, and just so the hipsters don't get uppity, even MORE bands are going to be announced soon.

Posted by Mike | March 13, 2012 1:57 PM

1:00 -- Leave it to a hipster to define music by superficial terms. Who knew that your inclusion depended on the amount of estrogen in the crowd.

Way to show your true colors, fixie.

wannabe-sausages = all the attitude, none of the shit to back it up

Posted by Anonymous | March 13, 2012 2:11 PM

that is all.

Can't wait to check this out.

FINALLY, a band has the balls to bring a Euro-style fest to America with legit diversity.
