Radiohead @ Roseland in 2011 (more by Bao Nguyen)
RadioheaD

As mentioned last night:

It's rumored that Radiohead will be announcing more dates soon. The latest rumor includes a June 1st show at Prudential Center in NJ, though I'm not going to believe it until I see it via Radiohead) (and not via Aids Bunny) (the previous rumor said there would be two nights at MSG around Bonnaroo, but now the rumor people are leaning towards the NJ show instead) (stay tuned).
Well, the latest rumor happens to be true (nice one Aids Bunny!), but also includes a May 31 performance at the NJ venue. They also play Camden on June 13th (so 3 NJ shows total!). Tickets for the new dates go on sale via W.A.S.T.E this Thursday, March 8. A general onsale will hit Ticketmaster on Saturday, March 10 at 10AM. All dates are listed below...

Nope.

awful venue for them.

:-(

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 9:41 AM

^why..they never played there before..I have seen shows at the Pru and sound is good for an arena

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 9:46 AM

$??

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 9:46 AM

Sweet, now I can hear the same droning song over and over at a local big arena!

Posted by GW | March 5, 2012 9:48 AM

I'd wager between June 16th and June 30th they put in a few Roseland shows or something for NYC. Then add the UK ones after that.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 9:48 AM

GW we don't know who is opening for RH yet?

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 9:50 AM

Camden? I think I'll stay home and not get shanked in the belly.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 9:50 AM

why not do like 5 or 6 MSG shows so they can circumvent scalpers..

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 9:51 AM

^Stay home..Camden is not as dangerous as it once was and you can take the lightrail to within feet of the venue..

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 9:51 AM

highly doubt they'll do more roseland shows. maybe an msg.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 9:52 AM

Is the garden closed then?

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 9:54 AM

MSG will probably be booked for playoff games. Suck it up and take the train to Newark losers.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 9:54 AM

yea they've never played there..how can you say its a lousy venue for them? i wouldnt mind checking out one of the two

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 9:56 AM

MSG would have ruled!

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 9:57 AM

Why should i care this? It is neither about linsanity nor bjork, and definitely has nothing to do with Murphy and the crew.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 9:59 AM

Unless they change up the dreadful setlist from the Roseland shows, this will not be worth the ticket price.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 9:59 AM

^ha ha lulz...dreadful..it was pretty good...these guys don't need to dig into the back catelog anymore they keep on reinventing themselves

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 10:01 AM

It's a shame that they thing they are something other than an over glorified pop band

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 10:02 AM

^Pop is dead...

If you think Radiohead is Pop what do you think Katy Perry is?

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 10:05 AM

Last time 10:02 listened to Radiohead....1993..

Last time Radiohead was a pop band...1993

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 10:07 AM

I'd be happy to hear the Roseland show all over again, not necessarily much back catalog representation, but everything sounded great, and the material from TKOL translates really well live imo, especially with two drummers. Schlep to Newark isn't the best, but it's easy, and not a bad venue truthfully.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 10:15 AM

complain all you want, but you sheep are still going to go.

i look forward to the $10 stubhub tickets for these.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 10:20 AM

Let's Go Rangers!

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 10:20 AM

^Yeah WTC path to Newark is under 15 min..easier getting to then some other places in Manhattan

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 10:21 AM

fugly sweatpants wearing ass bitches

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 10:22 AM

$5 on stubhub.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 10:41 AM

why can't they play msg...ugh

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 10:51 AM

Caribou opening for them = WIN

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 10:52 AM

yo dun dem hos is mad ugly.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 10:52 AM

My god they are awful. Burzum > Radiohead

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 10:54 AM

is caribou confirmed?? i saw they were touring with them in europe

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 10:57 AM

If any of you fools you can get $5 Radiohead ticket, you're out of your mind!

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 11:04 AM

"If any of you fools you can get $5 Radiohead ticket, you're out of your mind!"

Did you forget something fool?

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 11:09 AM

caribou confirmed for all 3.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 11:14 AM

Please all of you losers complaining about crossing the Hudson River for these shows stay home so those of us west of it can get tickets and actually enjoy ourselves.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 11:16 AM

Lol king of limbs lol can't wait to see all those songs live...

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 11:19 AM

^see the basement session? yes King Of Limbs is great live

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 11:23 AM

"is caribou confirmed?? i saw they were touring with them in europe"

Yup. go to radiohead.com/tourdates and click on the day. All the northeast dates will say "Support: Caribou"

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 11:26 AM

I love how deluded radiohead fans are .

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 11:28 AM

"If any of you fools you can get $5 Radiohead ticket, you're out of your mind!"

even the prince and springsteen tickets in jersey went down to around $5 on the day of, were it msg, sure, but there's too much risk in these tickets and anyone who won't make the trip to newark with at least an hour to spare, well, they'll assume they won't be going, so any remaining tickets will go up for next to nothing.

like i said -- wait this one out. if you just want to get into the venue and don't care where you sit, there most certainly will be $10 tickets to be had as it gets close.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 11:33 AM

US $69.50 Ticket + US $12.65 Fees = US $82.15

there you go. $82.15 each for *every* seat in the venue.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 11:35 AM

The emperor wears no clothes...

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 11:36 AM

"Yup. go to radiohead.com/tourdates and click on the day. All the northeast dates will say "Support: Caribou""

ok well this is awesome. that certainly makes the ticket price much more bearable

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 12:08 PM

You guys are really complaining about a ticket faced at $70 for one of the biggest bands in the world. Really?

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 12:31 PM

Fuck MSG

The Rock is a much better venue

Maybe they will come back through in the fall and hit up the Barclays Center too.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 12:39 PM

12:31..not me but I will complain about $13 a ticket SC! WTF!

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 1:07 PM

i find alot of people would rather eat the ticket and not have to sit next to the scumbag (me) who offered them $5 or $10 for their ticket. as an incentive to sell me the ticket i promise them that i will not sit next to them.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 1:12 PM

personally, if i were in a bind and paid a bunch for a ticket and couldn't go or whatever, i would never "sell" it to any of the grovelling douche bags who post shit on craigslist like "you don't have to eat that ticket, i'll take it for free!" or "i'd be happy to pay you $10 for your extra instead of you throwing out." fuck off. i'd be more likely to offer it to random passersby on the street for free than give those fuckers the satisfaction.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 1:36 PM

I am going to buy as many tix as possible, use one, and scalp the rest months in advance of the show.

Posted by Venkman | March 5, 2012 1:41 PM

Good luck with that, 1:41.
9:48 - I highly doubt it.
11:33 - You're probably right, for crappy seats. But good seats will still be worth something.
Newark sucks. Modern looking arena, but the room itself is cold; the seats go pretty high up. Nonetheless, still a better venue than Nassau Mausoleum.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 1:52 PM

The announcement of these shows has to cause further pain to those that did not get to the Roseland shows. Ouch.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 2:27 PM

Fact: Camden is rated as the second most dangerous city in america.. (Detroit is number 1)

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 2:49 PM

^fact on the night of a show Camden is crawling with security and cops.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 3:14 PM

2:27, actually I'm pretty happy that they're playing Newark. Easier to get tickets.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 3:38 PM

3:38 way to justify this Mr. Delusion.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 3:53 PM

Yes, it will be easier to get tickets for a show at a venue that holds about 15000 as opposed to a venue that only holds 3500 (Roseland). Common sense. Not sure how that makes me delusional...

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 3:58 PM

BTW, Caribou is opening.. what the eff is up with hipsters' fascination with deer? Deer Tick, The Antlers, Deerhoof, now Caribou?!

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 4:03 PM

i can't believe there isn't a band named jackalope yet. fail, people!

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 4:07 PM

3:38/3:58 The delusion is because you are justifying missing them play in a much smaller better sounding more intimate venue simply cause it will be easier to get tickets.

Yes it will be easier and yes it will not be as good a show for all the reasons above.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 4:14 PM

to all of you making negative comments means one thing - more tickets for me - stay home!

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 4:23 PM

4:14 - Aside from being easier to get tickets for Newark, I hate Roseland. Probably more than T5. Crappy sightlines, people pushing/shoving, sweaty people, etc. I'd rather have a seat, drink my beer, enjoy my music, without drunk sweaty people bumping into me all night while they hold up their iPhones.
Also, I saw the setlist for last few shows, and I like the selections better than the Roseland shows.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 4:34 PM

Could've told ya before they won't do MSG.
They can't afford the high rental and the huge deposit the Dolan mafia charges.

Posted by ME | March 5, 2012 4:41 PM

MSG is probably hard to book in June. Possible playoffs, and they'll be closing up for more renovations this summer.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 4:48 PM

"Also, I saw the setlist for last few shows, and I like the selections better than the Roseland shows"

what in particular do you like better? youd take airbag and there there over subterranean homesick alien and true love waits?

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 4:48 PM

They did True Love Waits the other night. Also, yes I will take Airbag over Subterranean Homesick Alien. Also, Paranoid Android.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 4:58 PM

"They did True Love Waits the other night. Also, yes I will take Airbag over Subterranean Homesick Alien. Also, Paranoid Android."

the night true love waits was played there was no airbag or paranoid android. also android and airbag are nowhere near as rare subterranean homesick alien. which was only played consistently until 1998, twice in 03, and then the two roseland shows

then again i've seen them several times and i've gotten some bust outs over the years. if this is your first RH show you're going to want to hear android

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 5:09 PM

4:48 Don't bother to try and make sense of the idiot 3:38/3:58/4;34/4:58. He is a delusional idiot. Roseland is not great in any way but much better seeing them there then in a giant shit cold sounding arena. Oh but yeah he can sit in his seat and drink without people shoving him around. Just a stupid fucking idiot

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 5:11 PM

By the way, how much you want to bet that Mr. Delusional, if offered the chance to buy tickets at the same time for Roseland or Prudential Arena, would buy Roseland.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 5:14 PM

Radiohead is a great band. Despite their latest albums being just so/so, they still put on a good live show.

What I hate are all the fanboys getting excited about True Love Waits. Just because it is a song rarely played live does not mean it is good.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 5:19 PM

everyones anger at everyone on here!

just enjoy the show! see you at coachella and the rock!

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 5:19 PM

angry*

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 5:20 PM

Crappy sightlines at Roseland? It's wide open except for the poles IN THE BACK. Are you upstairs? It is not hard to see at Roseland, even in back by the bar.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 5:20 PM

"What I hate are all the fanboys getting excited about True Love Waits. Just because it is a song rarely played live does not mean it is good."

i was thrilled to check it off the RH bucket list, one less tune i need to hear now. more bust outs please!

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 5:26 PM

God you kids just lie to yourselves... they played 1/2 a verse of true love waits and 3/4 of the audience had no clue what was going on

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 6:15 PM

what time will tickets go up on waste

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 6:16 PM

"what time will tickets go up on waste"

4pm thurs

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 6:21 PM

^ Stop lying. They go on sale Thurs at WASTe at 6pm est.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 6:25 PM

5:11 - Only on this site would someone call a person an idiot because he wants to enjoy a beer while listening to music, without being shoved around by sweaty people.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 6:53 PM

If you enjoy this and want to see other funny stuff, check out www.thebestfunnymusicblogever.com. It does a great job of combining music, good writing, and general funny stuff.

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 11:11 PM

Why don't RADIOhead play RADIO city???? get it?

Posted by Anonymous | March 5, 2012 11:12 PM

paperless tix please

Posted by Anonymous | March 6, 2012 1:00 AM

11:12, harhar. Well, they did actually. In 1998 during the OK Computer tour.

Posted by Anonymous | March 6, 2012 7:16 AM

1:00 - Your wish has been granted. The better sections in the arena will be paperless. The crappy seats will not be.
Good luck all.

Posted by Anonymous | March 6, 2012 12:14 PM

Personally, I'd rather this not be paperless.
It's easier and cheaper to get tickets in the end when they don't make it paperless. So many fools buy up tickets thinking they could make extra money, and they end up selling for less than cost.

Posted by Anonymous | March 6, 2012 12:20 PM

Paper ticketing is way better then paperless.
I want a ticket in my hand!

Posted by Anonymous | March 6, 2012 12:58 PM

I hope they play Creep, my favorite!

Posted by Anonymous | March 6, 2012 1:10 PM

remember primitive radio gods?

I BEEN DOWN HAHDAH BAy

Posted by Anonymous | March 6, 2012 1:21 PM

I love people who make fun of people who want to hear Creep. I actually do want to hear it. It's a rarity at this point, and ya know what? It's a well written song. And I want to hear Fake Plastic Trees too. Bite me.

Posted by Anonymous | March 6, 2012 2:22 PM

6:53,

Sorry you're a huge puss who can't stand up for a few hours.

Posted by Anonymous | March 6, 2012 2:43 PM

2:43, you know who else likes to sit, drink beer, enjoy music, and not have sweaty annoying people holding up iPhones rubbing against you all night? NORMAL PEOPLE.

Posted by Anonymous | March 6, 2012 2:56 PM

I would've thought that seeing a bunch of Radiohead fans arguing like dickless pansies would be entertaining and hilarious, but it's actually pretty boring and dull. Color me surprised.

Posted by Anonymous | March 6, 2012 3:02 PM

^ more like Color Me Badd

Posted by I want to sx you up | March 6, 2012 3:08 PM

2:56,

I go to many general admission shows and don't have people rubbing all over me. Also, I enjoy the energy from being up front around a bunch of people going nuts. Once again, I truly am sorry you're a huge puss who can't find it in yourself to stand up for a few hours.

Yours Truly,

2:43

Posted by Anonymous | March 6, 2012 3:11 PM

If you ate more phyto-nutrients then standing up for 3 hours would not be a problem. #consumemorehummus

Posted by Anonymous | March 6, 2012 3:15 PM

3:11, I'm sorry no one wants to rub on you.

Posted by Anonymous | March 6, 2012 3:24 PM

@4:34

Getting rubbed up on by sweaty people is half the fun, especially if you're on ecstasy which I most certainly will be. Maybe you're just old?
