Ramesh & band @ Mercury Lounge
Ramesh

Austin represented at Mercury Lounge in NYC on Monday night, 3/5, when Ramesh of Voxtrot, complete with a new band and a new EP, performed along with Feathers (who have since continued on to the UK to play Koko in London tonight and ATP in Minehead on Saturday). Both bands will be back in Austin in time for SXSW.

Ramesh's set included an acoustic take of Voxtrot classic "Raised by Wolves" which Chris caught on video. That video with more pictures from the whole show, below...

What kind of idiot dwells on what kind of pants a man wears?

Thank God Feathers had the presence of mind to write down who plays what on their set list. If Destiny had forgotten she plays drums on set-closer WELCOME, it could have really been a mess.

Oh, wow, didn't know he was doing solo shows. Would have liked to read how it was, not just picture bombardment.

ramesh was pretty great. it was an 8-piece band (cello, keyboard, violin, two percussionist, guitar, bass + ramesh). they played the ep and like two voxtrot songs. raised by wolves (which chris shot and at the bottom of the photo bombardment) was the last song he played.

can't wait to see them again!

One of the best 8 piece band's that i've seen in a while. Then again I love any band with a violin haha

the dancey new wavey stuff with band had some good moments, but oh please, MORE voxtrot solo songs. other one he did was "the start of something big". don't know why ramesh had to sit, however, he's not old. and he said he recently did "mothers, daughters..." - we shoulda *demanded* he do it as well.

Although I don't actually enjoy bright colors, their outfits looks pretty awsome to me. I guess because I'm that type of woman who is really into fashion and dresses.
