Rangda

Rangda, the Drag City-signed trio of Ben Chasny (Six Organs of Admittance), Sir Richard Bishop (Sun City Girls) and drummer Chris Corsano, visit NYC for a pair of shows this weekend. They play Zebulon Friday (tonight, 3/2) with Gunn/Truscinski Duo ($10), and then Le Poisson Rouge on Saturday, March 3rd with Loren Connors. Tickets for the LPR show are on sale. Chasny's website says "We'll be playing some new tunes and heading to Black Dirt Studios afterwards to record the next record."

Their debut record, False Flag, which came out in 2010, is full of high-intensity jams inspired by psychedelia, spaghetti Western and world music. Check out some of the songs below...

If Jeremy Lin isn't going to be there, no one will care.

spaghetti western? who comes up with this shit?

Posted by Anonymous | March 2, 2012 5:48 PM

Someone has no idea who Ennio Morricone is.

For real son. How you don't know Clint and such? The graveyard scene in the Good, the Bad and the Ugly? Score was straight fi-yah.

Plus the better reference woulda been Sergio Leone and not Ennio Morricone, son.

Yeah, but you do realize that all those Leone movies, many scored by Morricone, were, actually, called "spaghetti westerns," right? It's 'cause they were filmed in Italy. What's-his-face who wrote this post is not wrong here.

This short thread confirms how ignorant commenters on this blog are. I am resolved to read them no more.
