All the Rowboats

As mentioned, Regina Spektor is releasing a new album titled What We Saw From the Cheap Seats, which is due out this May. The album's lead single, "All the Rowboats," which has some pretty huge drums, can be streamed below or downloaded from iTunes. That's the single's artwork above.

She's got some upcoming dates this spring with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. None of those are in NYC but she'll play her own show in the NYC area before the tour at Wellmont Theatre on April 10. Tickets for the Montclair, NJ show go on sale Friday (3/9) at noon.

Regina is also prepping a 7" for Record Store day where she'll be covering two Russian songs, "The Prayer of Francois VIllon" and "Old Jacket."

All dates and stream below...

how many songs will Regina perform? Is she opening for Tom Petty?

Tom Petty usually picks pretty solid opening acts. A rare misfire.

I would much rather see Regina than Tom Petty. TP is a whore and makes absolutely boring, predictable music. Regina is still exciting to hear create. Haters gonna hate, but Regina gonna shine. I know that's right.

Coming from a normally very cynical person, Regina is consistently an excellent performer and writer. I'd much, much rather watch her perform than Tom Petty.

I have seen both Petty and Regina before...just because you are weird and quirky doesn't mean your music is better! Petty puts on a great live show...Haters gonna hate!

I've seen Petty several times, over the years. You know exactly what you will get with Petty, nothing more and nothing less. If you're into that then he's a good show. If you like to eat things other than grilled cheese and oatmeal, you will get bored pretty quickly at one of his shows. I'm surprised that the Ritalin-starved hipster crowd on here would have the patience to tolerate Petty, unless it brings some kind of melancholic reflection of their formative years (Petty is huge in the midwest).

I've eaten both hummus with pita triangles and hummus with baby carrots, and although both choices are predicable, neither are boring.

Tom Petty is not the hummus of the musical world.
Madonna is hummus, granted, but Tom Petty is the Kraft Cheese Whiz of music.

Modonna is no way the hummus of the music world! She's not even from Williamsburg!
