DOWNLOAD: Ringo Deathstarr - Shadow (MP3)

Ringo Deathstarr at SXSW 2011
Ringo Deathstarr

Austin shoegazers Ringo Deathstarr made one of my favorite albums of last year, Colour Trip, and are back with an all new EP titled Shadow which is out today on Sonic Unyon. We've got the MP3 premiere of the title track -- a groovy little number with shouty guest vocals from Trail of Dead's Jason Reece. You can also stream the track below.

Ringo Deathstarr are one of the many bands playing tomorrow at Hotel Vegan in Austin, so if you're down there for SXSW do stop by. They're on at 2:30PM on the BV Austin stage. It's free, no badges or wristbands or RSVPing necessary. Full Thursday line-up is here.

Posted by Anonymous | March 14, 2012 1:05 PM

Why is this news and the upcoming Linsanity has yet to be mentioned?

Posted by Anonymous | March 14, 2012 1:09 PM

This band should have been called Paul McShartney.

Mohammed
See, not censored. Just playing favorites

Posted by Anonymous | March 14, 2012 2:31 PM

extended play = EP

long play = LP

Posted by Anonymous | March 14, 2012 3:25 PM

Why am I convinced that they put more time into what they were going to wear than what they were going to play?

Posted by Anonymous | March 14, 2012 3:38 PM

"Why am I convinced that they put more time into what they were going to wear than what they were going to play?"

The sad thing is that they're probably obsessing about looking like every other stupid band. That's to say nothing of sounding and acting like every other stupid band... I mean if they wanted to stoop to blatantly ripping off My Bloody Valentine, they could have at least put a personal asterisk on their style theft, like Yuck...

Posted by Anonymous | March 14, 2012 5:22 PM

money spent on perms & vintage blouses could've been put to better use on guitar stands...

Posted by Anonymous | March 14, 2012 6:56 PM

Sounds like everything else.

Posted by Anonymous | March 14, 2012 7:18 PM

My Bloddy Valentine should be pissed

Posted by Anonymous | March 14, 2012 8:37 PM

If you are on BV and you don't know what an EP is then something is wrong.

Posted by Anonymous | March 14, 2012 9:48 PM

If you are on BV and you don't know what an EP is then you should ask Matt or D. One of them will set ya straight.

Posted by Anonymous | March 14, 2012 11:25 PM

"this EP came out in North America March 13th, so if 1 day is mad long..."

1 day is definitely not mad long. But I got it on Vinyl in November.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 1:29 AM

By being stuck as the top post for an inordinate period of time, is this band ever profiting from BV focusing on his SXSW shows or what.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 8:04 AM

That song sounds like a hardcore vocalist was cut and pasted over a MBV track. Seriously...this band simply has no original ideas.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 8:09 AM

chicken pot pie

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 8:21 AM

Am I the only one who thinks that takes a little from MBV's "Soon"?

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 8:43 AM

enough already

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 9:11 AM

no. not nearly enough. hummus. linsanity. $pin d@ct@rs. gerald.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 9:57 AM

they should put out a split EP with Django Django

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 10:03 AM

^Uhm no...Django Django is actually original and talented.

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 10:40 AM

The closer up the photo of the band, the fewer people were at the show

Posted by Anonymous | March 15, 2012 10:42 AM

Posted by Sam | March 15, 2012 11:38 PM
